One of the primary energyworking modalities The Halau at ‘Aha Hui Lanakila, Inc., teaches is Usui Teate Reiki (original knowledge Japanese Reiki/Gakkai system) and Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki (American Reiki/Takata system) and its progeny energies. And, if you’ve wondered, “What is Reiki?” you’re not alone!

There has been a great deal of debate about exactly what Reiki is. Most practitioners agree that it is a form of life/healing energy, but beyond that the various schools differ, with some being much more esoteric than others. The word itself can be broken down into the component parts of “Rei” (pronounced ‘ray’) and “Ki” (pronounced ‘key’).

The Japanese language has many different levels of meaning within it. Some levels are very basic while others are highly esoteric. “Rei” literally means spirit, ghost, soul, in the heavens or of spirits; but also denotes universal energy. “Ki” also means spirit and, some argue, is essentially the Japanese equivalent of the Chinese description of “Chi”, which means life force energy. The word Reiki, therefore, can be taken to refer to a balanced universal life force energy.

Because of its unique qualities Reiki seems to have a basic consciousness which, when used for healing, is able to provide exactly what is needed on all levels.

The Halau offers instruction and training in original knowledge Usui Teate Reiki from Basic through 18th Dan Reiki Grandmaster.

We offer four levels of instruction and training in traditional Japanese Usui Teate Reiki concomitantly with American Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki), from Basics through Level 4 Reiki Master-Teacher.  On-site live classes as well as correspondence training via Skype or Google+ Hangout weekly sessions are available. This is the foundation course of study for all other subsequent energyworking courses offered. This class is a quad-mester of material that provides the basics and foundation methodologies of Usui Reiki that will lead into more complex and involved instruction.

We offer two paths to acquiring Basic Reiki training at The Halau:

(1) Learn both original knowledge Japanese Usui Teate Reiki and Western-styled Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki together; or

(2) if you’ve already been attuned to Western Reiki and wish to learn only the original knowledge Japanese Reiki, then you have the opportunity to learn Usui Teate Reiki on its own.

Western Usui Reiki is a subset of the Original Knowledge Usui Teate Reiki

How We Will Support You During Certification:

Our classes explore Mikao Usui’s Japanese healing system called Usui Teate (“healing hand”) Reiki.  Students receive grade materials and handouts at class meetings, or as PDFs for online classes, as needed. (Skype students receive PDF files of the grade materials via email or Skype file transfer.)  Weekly one-on-one and group mentoring classes span two- to three-hours and are tailored to students’ specific learning needs; monthly tuition rates apply.

ALL PRACTITIONERS WELCOME

The Halau is a proud member of the International Natural Healers Association (INHA).  No previous Reiki experience necessary.  Students with previous Reiki training who wish to train with our Halau must bring proof of certification to their first class meeting.  (Skype students email their PDF certificate(s), if applicable, prior to first session.)

Basic Reiki Mastership training includes:

• PDF manuals (literally hundreds of pages) for each level of  Usui Teate Reiki (Traditional Japanese system), Levels 1 through 4
• Issued Certificates of Rank upon completion of Basic Reiki Master level training
• Access to The Halau’s MP3 audio meditation files
• Monthly two-hour Video Q&A study sessions with your Instructor
• (Additional training sessions available for $25.00/session)

• Please submit your enrollment request using the form, below.  In exchange and upon receipt of your ho’okupu (energy exchange), The Halau will transmit via email confirmation of enrollment and learning materials.  You will then be contacted to set up your online study sessions schedule.  We are always grateful for your faith and trust in the services we provide.

Students receive all aspects of training described above, except with a sole focus on learning Usui Teate Reiki basics through Level 4.  As a free bonus, students will also be attuned to the “golden top note” for the system known as Amaterasu Reiki and receive an additional PDF manual for this modality.

Qualified Students are individuals who have completed their basic Reiki training in Usui Teate Reiki and received certifications of rank through The Halau.

Contact us via email using the form, below.  Once accepted, you can expect to be attuned to basic Reiki through Master Levels 3 and 4.  Over the next four months and upon receipt of your attunement tuition, you will be required to receive the appropriate Reiki attunements (3 per level for American Reiki and Japanese Reiki, respectively, or 18 attunements to Level 4) and Reiju empowerments (3 per level per system, or 18 empowerments to Level 4) prior to commencement of your regular training classes.  Attunements include eight (8) hours of regular training instruction.

You may attend class via Jitsi, provided:  (1) your laptop/PC has mic/videocam capability (headsets are advisable); (2) you pre-pay your tuition via PayPal prior to commencement of the first class session.

Once you complete your Basic Reiki Mastery course, you become eligible to continue your training into the Grandmaster levels (up to 18th Dan) with The Halau.  Grandmastership is not offered in 95% of the Reiki programs currently being offered online or in live training classes.  And, we will support your continued Reiki studies as a Lifetime Member of The Halau.  We Are Family:  ‘Ohana.   That’s right:  we don’t just train you and leave you to figure things out on the fly.
