This card points to a highly emotional time in love relationships. Things can quickly become heated and/or uncomfortable. Take a break if you need to. Don’t make assumptions and fight fairly if you’re going to fight. Pick your battles and be sure to treat your lover like a friend. Don’t be in a hurry to end or to begin a relationship. This is probably not the best time for either course of action.  This is a very spiritual time and a great time to get a reading, healing work done, or other helpful input from spiritual types.  You are more psychically open than usual now. Pay attention to your thoughts and feelings and to flashes of information that come seemingly out of nowhere. This is also a great time to access the great spiritual books of the world – you’ll get more out of them than usual.

Things may be or may get very tight in the near future. Try not to resent the situation, but to deal calmly and rationally with it.  Take one step at a time.  If you need financial help, don’t be afraid or too proud to ask for it.  Help is always available.  If you’re feeling flush right now, this is still a time that calls for financial restraint.  Save for the proverbial rainy day! The Sun provides life to flowers and to people.  If it is reversed and going down, then its light and warmth is fading … and so is the life it supports.  This is not, as with the blocked card, a suggestion that the life is temporarily gone.  This is a fading Sun — it suggests that the querent is either unable to recapture youth and childhood, or that they are refusing to see the light.  There is a suggestion here that they would rather be in shadow than see what the light might show them.  It is possible that the querent is rejecting reason and logic.  Or, that the querent cannot stop the light from fading.  Ignorance is winning, as are the dim and short-sighted forces of cynical adulthood.  No one is listening to youthful protests, or thinking of the children, of future generations.  Energy fades, the light fades, music and wisdom fade.  Something must be done before all the flowers have wilted away.

It’s very possible that you will decide to leave your job if you are currently working, even if it’s a good job, because your heart is no longer in it. You are being called to follow your dream, no matter what it is.  If you have a desire to do something different, but don’t know anybody who does what you want to do — be bold and call up someone who does what you dream of doing and ask them if you can have lunch with them, or shadow them for four hours. You’d be surprised how often such a request is met in the affirmative. In the financial sense, the Wheel of Fortune is generally a good omen for anyone who has been having a rough time for a while financially.  It means that your circumstances are very likely to change, markedly, for the better.  However,if you have had a long prosperous period, consider the opposite possibility – that your income may drop a little.  If that’s the case, be sure you are prepared for the proverbial “rainy day.”  In the long run, it all evens out naturally.

The Moon indicates that things may seem somewhat confusing to you now. You may find it hard to understand where you are coming from, much less what others are thinking and feeling!  You need to try to sit with the uncertainty, don’t try to force things or people to do things before they are ready. A reversed Hermit card can represent an opposite … a mean old man, isolated, misanthropic, paranoid … Isolation does not bring insights and epiphanies, but rather turns the person sour and against the world.  Another opposite of the Hermit is the Fool, such as a teacher who uses her position to do foolish or childish things, rather than to impart wisdom and insight.  Either way, this is not a trustworthy teacher or sage.

A reversed Hermit can also mean Blocks … the power of the Hermit (his energy) is in his lantern.  The Hermit has keen insight and an ability to see what is hidden to others; he knows how to look beneath the surface.  If this is blocked, then we might well say that the Hermit’s lantern has been shattered.  It offers no light and the Hermit is left in darkness.  Thus, if you are viewing this sign as a representation of a block, then perhaps you are having trouble shedding light on a problem, or that you are alone in the dark in this situation.  To get out, you must find a way to rekindle you lantern.  The lantern is emblematic of your keen mind, sharp eye and analytical abilities.  Though currently in darkness, the Hermit has the means to shed light on things if he rekindles his lantern.

It’s possible that a pleasant surprise will be coming your way soon in regard to work.
