Tarot Contemplation – The Lovers

The Lovers is associated with the astrological sign of Gemini, “The Twins”.  It almost always points to partnerships with just one other person.  Generally and not surprisingly this indicates a romantic partnership, but of course this is not always the case.  Less frequently, it points to the duality that all of us have inwardly — between male/female, yin/yang, approach/avoidance and the like.  It is possible when this card appears that you are feeling ambivalent about a relationship or situation in your life.  It could be that your heart is telling you one thing and your head, another.  In general, the thing to do is (within the bounds of your morality) to follow your heart.  Some people say there are only two modes that any of us are operating under at any one time:  fear or love.  Whenever you can, choose love.  Working with a special person, like a mentor or leader that you have faith in, can help you along your spiritual journey.  However, don’t blindly follow; question everything, listen to your heart and your gut reactions; take what is offered that is helpful to you and disregard the rest.  A mentor may be getting ready to come into your life.  Remember the old saying:  “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

Tarot Contemplation – The Empress

The Empress is an archetype of feminine power; she is watery, hard to fathom, mysterious, fertile and sexual.  She augurs a need for us to be in touch with our feminine side, to listen to our intuition and to give priority to our emotions and passions.  She can signify coming abundance.  People are going to be more attracted to you than usual (in every sense) and you are likely to find people on your doorstep wanting your advice and/or a shoulder to cry on.  This will be beneficial to you because you are now going to be able to see yourself more in the way that others see you — as someone with wisdom and a lot to offer.  So, share your hard-won perspectives on life, know that your wisdom and caring has value. Your intuition may well be trying to send you a message during this time.  It will beimportant to listen closely to it now and if that requires that you make time alone, even though there are others that need you, then making time alone needs to be a priority.  Heed any messages or warnings that seem to come to you now through your “inner voice.”

Tarot Contemplation – The Hanged Man

The Hanged Man generally shows that you are at a crossroads — one with only two options, i.e., in or out; up or down; yes or no.  You may find yourself very much wanting to do “something”, but having no idea what it is or how to do it.  If that happens, that’s a clear sign that you ought to stop, relax and look at ways that you might need to let go of attempts to control life, situations, people, things.  It is possible that there is an outdated attitude or wish that you need to let go of.  Any sacrifice that you make will open up your life to something even more positive than what you “let go of”.  All in all this ought to be a thoughtful, reflective time, particularly if you are willing to look at it, or how you might best serve your own interests by being willing to change.

Tarot Contemplation – The Magician

There will be an improvement in your work/career life.  This points to an excellent time to find new work or to ask for and receive a promotion in your current job, if that is possible.  Particularly, if your work is in a creative field, this is a time when your suggestions and work will be met with excellent comprehension and may lead you to “bigger and better things.”  Money should be on the upswing when this card appears — even if no feasible way for this to happen is apparent.  Something will appear that will allow you to make more money, whether this is an idea, a chance to do some work “on the side”, or even a new position.  Have faith in yourself and your ability to succeed.

Tarot Contemplation – The Hermit

The Hermit is an extremely spiritual card, and often has to do with institutions and large organizations – everything from a bank to the entire Christian Church.  This card indicates spirituality even if you are an atheist.  It’s in whatever sense the word “spirit” makes sense to you, even if for you “spirit” equates to “emotion”.  You may be trying hard to figure out what the “truth” is about someone (or some matter), don’t feel that you have to do it all on your own, ask for help if you need it to gain different perspectives, more information, etc.  Just like with the Strength card, you may even more so be in the frame of mind that you need some time alone — don’t be afraid to take it.  Even if it’s just a five-minute walk around the house so that you can clear your head.  This is also very much a card about “trying very hard to do the right thing.”  Just make sure that “doing the right thing” includes doing what is right for you personally, and not just worrying about the wants and needs of others.

Tarot Contemplation – The World

The World can signify that you are figuratively feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, which is not an easy place to be.  It’s an excellent time to review how well you do at “asking for help” when you need it.  Remember, you don’t have to do everything on your own.  This can often be a card of completion.  You’ve worked hard and you are almost to the “finish line” in some way.  Don’t quit now that you’re almost finished!  You’re almost definitely in need of some well deserved rest and relaxation; don’t be afraid to take it.  You are getting closer to “who you really are” at your deepest levels.  You are likely to have several clear flashes of important spiritual insights during this time.  Keep a notebook handy and record these experiences.  Share and discuss them with others (even if your only outlet for that is online).  We are all on a spiritual journey and your insights are likely to be valuable for others as well.

Tarot Contemplation – Temperance

Temperance is a card about balance, in many ways, and relationships of all kinds. Friendships, family, romantic partnerships and work partnerships all need your attention.  This is also a card about alchemy, or mixing and matching.  You may have to try several approaches to things before you find what is truly right for you. Although in general all your relationships are likely to be going quite well, you may need to look at your deeper personal issues and see if or how these are standing in your way.  And, if they are, how to work through them and integrate them.  The idea now is to do what it takes to find balance — in yourself, in your relationships and with your goals and aspirations.  This is an important time to meditate and to listen to your inner voice for guidance.  If you need help, ask for it … both from your higher self and others.

Tarot Contemplation – Strength

Love ought to be going well.  If you’re committed, this is very likely to be a strong relationship that is mutually supportive and beneficial.  If you’re looking for someone, this is a much better-than-average time to meet people.  You should be in a self-confident phase, so get out and mingle.  You might be very pleasantly surprised by how things work out.  Money ought to be in a positive cycle.  Be sure to save some, even if it’s only a little, and even if you’ve been doing without for quite some time and feel a desperate need to treat yourself or the people that you care about. You may actually be getting ready to purchase a home or other big-ticket item. Of course, don’t borrow more than you can comfortably repay.

Tarot Contemplation – The Moon

It has long been said that the full Moon has a powerful effect on our emotional state, creating tides of emotions within us.

When we experience such turbulent emotions, it is difficult to believe that we could ever feel harmony and peace within ourselves again.

Highly charged feelings cause havoc in our lives, and when The Moon appears in your readings, you can be sure there are issues in your life that are causing confusion and mixed emotions.

When this card appears, it is suggesting you take a step back and view your situation from a different perspective and with a calmer logic.

However, The Moon does represent powerful feelings and it isn’t always easy to gain clarity: we often can’t ‘see the wood for the trees’. The path to clarity and understanding is a challenging one, yet despite the emotional wrenches you may feel, it is right for you.

For example, if you are in a situation where you need to let go of a lover or partner for whatever reason, but emotionally cannot summon up the courage to do so, even though you know it’s the right thing to do, trust that the new path you seek is right for you.

Often when a decision is very difficult and causes strong emotional resistance within us, we allow our weaker nature to rule. However, in many of these situations it is a brave heart and clear mind that help us see through the fog of unruly emotion and step onto our true path.

The Moon not only represents illusion caused by powerful emotions, but also illusion or trickery created by other people’s lies or misleading behavior. Therefore, when The Moon appears in a reading, it’s a good idea to question your motives and those of people close to you, and it is best to refrain from making firm decisions until you know and feel a sense of certainty about your choices.

The wan light of The Moon does in some way shed light upon the right path for us, but because we cannot see clearly in dim light we doubt ourselves and hold back from taking the steps forward.

The Moon may suggest that your avoidance to take action or make a tough decision about a certain situation is simply due to fear of loss. Fear has much to do with The Moon, and courage is always needed to conquer fear, so take your time when The Moon appears in your readings and search for your inner courage. With patience you will find the clarity you seek.

Tarot Contemplation – The Emperor (returns!)

This card shows a need for discipline, logic and order to make your finances work better for you.  What we pay attention to in our life grows.  Are you treating your money with respect? Do you know how much you have, where it is going and so forth?  Do not focus on lack now, because lack is then what grows.  Pay attention to what you have and be the best steward of it that you can be.

Be sure to take time out for yourself in order to honor your need for spiritual growth.  Do not focus totally on your left-brained aspects (logic, reason, order), but allow your right brain to have input also.  Logic can lead you to the spirit if you allow this and if you don’t get too stuck in your logical self.  Meditation (which requires great discipline) will come easier for you now if you make the time and effort.

Tarot Contemplation – The Emperor

The Emperor shows us that domination of the mind over the heart is sometimes not wanted, but in some cases is it necessary and even welcomed, and that this is part of what we must think about when he appears.  When hard choices must be made it’s important to maintain your concentration and focus, and this is something this time period will make it control and focus brings.  Forge ahead and do what you know is best.  If you can master yourself then you ought to experience fewer problems mastering the world and all the things in it.  It looks as though a kind, older man may be part of your scenario.  This could be a work colleague, or your father or father-type figure.  Perhaps he will be interested in you romantically.  If so, don’t rule out, just because of his age.  You may feel that this man sort of “rules with an iron fist”  and that can be frustrating at times, but he is trying to help you to see that rules have their place and their reasons — and you will come out all the better for it.  Above all else, this man teaches — without even trying, perhaps — the benefits of structure and logic ruling over the emotions and lesser desires.

Tarot Contemplation – The Magician

The Magician is about making higher, and better, use of all of one’s power: spiritual, emotional and otherwise.  This is another card that often signifies new beginnings and great expectations.  This is a very powerful, positive omen.  You are reminded that you have the power to make a difference in your life and in the greater world, if you simply make a point to try.  You may notice many synchronicities which point towards deep spiritual events taking place, regardless of importance of their superficial appearances.  You ought to be finding that you have the knowledge, strength and inspiration needed to meet your challenges.  In general, this is a very positive time for you.

Tarot Contemplation – Judgment

Judgment can be a card abut jumping to conclusions, decisions and judgments which are too hastily made.  If you are prone to such things, this is a clear signal to slow down and give things more thought and to give people “more chances”.  This can be a real time of spiritual awakening.  In general, if you are the one tending to jump to conclusions, you can put a stop to it.  If others are making these kinds of decisions about you or about someone you care for, there is really very little you can do, apart from realizing that it’s their problem, not yours.

Tarot Contemplation – Justice

Justice deals with the idea of karma and the law of cause and effect, stating that all events, and all people, are connected.  However, it is important to remember that no everything you are dealing with is a direct result of your own actions or karma.  Sometimes, you will be called upon to deal with the results of the actions of someone you care about, and this can sometimes be as difficult and demanding as it is when you’re up against something that is completely of your own making.  Don’t blame yourself unnecessarily.  This card evokes the need for fairness, balance and harmony.  Operate in as balanced and reasonable a fashion as you can.  This includes in how you think about and treat yourself.  If you are directly involved with a court case, it is likely to be resolved, at least in large degree, in your favor.

Tarot Contemplation – The Emperor

The Emperor shows us that domination of the mind over heart is sometimes not wanted, but in some cases it is necessary and even welcomed.  This is part of what we must think about when he appears.  When hard choices must be made it is important to maintain your concentration and focus.  This is something this time period will make easy for you to do.  Enjoy the assertiveness and confidence that this self-control and focus brings.  forge ahead and do what you know is best.  If you can master yourself, then you ought to have little problem mastering the world and all the things in it.

Tarot Contemplation – The Moon

The Moon indicates that things may seem somewhat confusing to you now.  You may find it hard to understand where you are coming from, much less what others are thinking and feeling.  You need to try to sit with the uncertainty, don’t try to force things or people to do things before they are ready.  This card is the “Pisces” of the tarot deck.  Today, you are definitely in a more psychic and intuitive phase than usual, so it will be important for you to trust your instincts and your impressions, even if you don’t know where they are coming from.  Also, not that you need to be mistrusting, but it will be helpful for you to realize that when this card appears it is possible that all is not what it seems.  If you feel you can’t trust someone, then you probably cannot.  Go with your gut.  If you are waiting on an answer from someone, it may unfortunately take longer than you would prefer.  Try to remain patient.

Tarot Contemplation – The Fool

The Fool is always an indicator of newness, as well as the purity and open-hearted energy of a child.  This is generally considered a positive card, with the caveat that it’s important to take time to be sure that you are “looking where you’re going.”  Generally, this card indicates new beginnings that have some deeper spiritual meaning.  For example, starting a meditation practice, or a relationship, as opposed to buying a new pair of shoes.  The appearance of the Fool can depict an important “fresh start”.

Spiritual Evolution Or From The Fool To The Hermit, Part 1

The Fool according to Daphna Moore represents the Hebrew letter Aleph, meaning ox, the element Air, bright pale yellow and the planet Uranus. Most people, including Daphna Moore believe that The Fool represents on the human level, the pre-incarnate spirit. I’d also discovered in my studies that Paracelsus, the famous alchemist believed that the body came from the earth: the soul from the stars and the spirit from God. If Paracelsus were taken literally then he would appear to be saying that the Spirit and Soul are from different places….

Tarot Contemplation – The High Priestess

This is a very spiritual card, often with sexual overtones.   It can mean that you are in a phase where you are going to be much more physically attractive to others.  The High Priestess is tied to the Moon, to femininity and to inspiration.  This is a time to rely on your intuition and your inner knowledge, rather than your conscious mind or intellect.  Pay attention to your dreams.  Synchronicities are likely now.  When the High Priestess appears, she also often represents a woman that he will want badly, but whom he may not be able to get.  Messages can come to you from all sorts of places.   Make a point to look at spirituality in ways that you have not done before.  Talk to people whose experiences and beliefs are different than your own.  Move out of your comfort zone.  You will be the richer for it.

Tarot Contemplation – Strength (second day!)

Work ought to be going well.  If you’re looking for work, now that you have the wherewithal and the skillset to find it.  If you’re already employed, and there is room for upward mobility, don’t hesitate to negotiate for what you’re worth.  You might be surprised at the positive reception that you get.  If there’s not room for a raise or promotion where you are now, give serious thought to finding something where there is this possibility, or consider what it would take for you to strike out on your own business-wise.  You may have more options than you typically think possible.

Tarot Contemplation – Strength

Strength has rectified itself from a couple of days back, when it was reversed.  This is likely to be a very spiritual time for you, even if you don’t have anything close to a religious belief.  To be truly strong, you must pay attention to and develop each leg of the triad we are made from:  body, mind and spirit.  Be sure you are spending time on all three.  That’s hardest to do when things are difficult.  If you are at a low point today, know that things are very likely to be looking up soon.  This card is a reminder that you are stronger than you think.

Tarot Contemplation – The Chariot

The Chariot indicates a lot of energy, but not free-for-all energy.  It’s directed, controlled and has a goal in mind.  Today, you are likely to be fairly clear on what your hopes and dreams involve and what you are willing to do to get there.  The Chariot is about determination and ambition, getting things done and testing and proving what you’ve got.  Move forward with whatever you have in mind (and in your heart) and give it your best shot.  Remember, though, that you’ll need to use both your intellect and your heart in order to be truly successful.

Tarot Contemplation – The Empress

The Empress is the archetype of feminine power.  She is watery and hard to fathom; mysterious, fertile and sexual.  She augurs a need for us to be in touch with our feminine side, to listen to our intuition and to give priority to our emotions and passions.  She can signify coming abundance.  People are goiing to be more attracted to you than usual, in every sense. You are likely to find people on your doorstep wanting your advice or shoulder to cry on.  This will be beneficial to you because you are now going to be able to see yourself more in the way that others see you:  as someone with wisdom and a lot to offer.  So share your hard-won perspectives on life, know that your wisdom and caring is valuable.

Tarot Contemplation – The Tower

The Tower is about change.  Just as the Devil and Death, the Tower is not as frightening or as ominous as the pictorial representation, above.  Trying to hold too tightly to the status quo can be disastrous now.  Roll with the changes.  It is likely that some people/situations that you have counted on as being there for you may no longer be there in quite the same way.  This doesn’t have to be dire; change is the nature of life and trying to prevent it is like trying to row upstream without a paddle.  If you’ve been building castles in the air, this may be the time that some of them come crashing down to earth.  That’s only a problem if you allow it to be one.  You will be able to replace them with some more realistic and reachable dreams and goals if some fantasies fall apart this month.  Dreaming is important, but it is also important to be living in reality.  You will get through this time just fine, particularly if you remember that you have all the resources you need already inside you to deal with life and to do what you need to do.

Tarot Contemplation – Strength (reversed)

Strength indicates the importance of mind over matter, and reminds ou to focus on what you do want, rather than what you don’t want, in your life.  It’s main point is that you have the ability to harness your thoughts and to use them for your — and everyone else’s — highest good.  Not only do you have the ability, you have the responsibility.  So, conquer your fears, control your impulses and never lose patience with yourself or what you are doing.  It’s important now for you to make time to meditate and contemplate and spend some time alone, even if you are in a committed relationship and have ump-teen children!  Do not allow yourself to spend time in preoccupation and fear.  Outward things will be going all right, but what is of the most paramount importance is keeping your head on straight. You are strong, and probably stronger than you think.  You got this.

Tarot Contemplation – Eight of Cups

Something that was once close to your heart now feels uninteresting or draining.  Today, take some distance from that project or relationship.  You may come back to it, or you may not.  What is important now is to replenish yourself emotionally and spiritually.  Take time to be alone to contemplate one’s emotions and decide if leaving is the best route.  It could mean literally leaving — changing homes, ending a relationship, quitting a job, going on a trip to find yourself — or, leaving behind hopes and dreams.  Either you or someone involved is tired of feeling disappointed and hopeless and is ready to look for better things.  Often, the Eight of Cups indicates a craving for spiritual deepening.

Tarot Contemplation – The Chariot

You can accomplish a great deal today, but discipline is key.  Stay focused on your goals.  Don’t let distractions interfere.  You have the skills and resources to achieve what you want, but not without effort.  It’s time to take control of your life.  Stay focused on your goal.  Harness all of your resources to get to where you want to go.  Don’t get thrown off course by your emotions.  Forego short term gratification for long term accomplishment.  And, the weekend is here, so perhaps enjoy traveling … be safe and be IN-Joy!

Tarot Contemplation – Queen of Cups

The Queen of Cups is the one woman in your life that is and ever shall be in your corner 100% … always caring, nurturing and empathetic towards you, your needs and what’s going on with you in this Moment.  Think positively, because this feminine energy is supporting you … at work, in your relationships, with your health and even your spiritual outlook … in all ways that you have yet to realize.  So give yourself a break today and be creative as you reach out, especially to other women, to nurture the relationships surrounding you.  In this way, you honor your mother and The Mother by nurturing yourself with compassion.  In a macrocosmic sense, this is the Universe reaching out to heal your Spirit with Mother’s love and asking you to See that all is related.  All are related.  And so … may you be pleasantly surprised with a dose of intuitive clairvoyance today as you embrace the Mother within you.

Tarot Contemplation – King of Swords

Today, you feel like a mastermind.  You have a mature, calm, analytical intellect which you use in the pursuit of truth and justice.  You are a direct communicator and an absolute professional.  Your decisions are based on careful thought.  If you have a difficult problem to solve, or a serious decision to make, today is a good day to do that.  Your mind is calm and clear, and you’ll be able to separate your feelings from the facts easily.

Tarot Contemplation – Queen of Cups

Your energy is akin to a mature, sensitive, romantic person.  You are an empathetic and kind listener, and help others to understand their own emotions.  You are connected to your higher self and receptive to messages from your dreams.  Pay close attention to your feelings and intuition, and listen to your heart.  You are nurturing and loving as you give of yourself to others.  You may require solitude in order to rejuvenate yourself, and being near water will heal, restore and inspire you.  Indulge your artistic side in a DIY project.
