Meditation’s benefits may derive from its impact on the shape of the brain, thickening parts associated with mind-wandering, memory and compassion, and shrinking the fear center
Tarot Contemplation – Temperance

In all you do today, seek balance. If you are trying something new, you will have the best success if you are moderate in your approach.Do it a little, and then step back to see how it feels. This is how you can make long-lasting, sustainable changes to your relationships, attitude, or behaviour … step by step. Now is a time for adjustment. Two or more things are coming together to create something new. You may be integrating your life with someone else’s, integrating your work and home lives, or integrating spirituality into your everyday life. Whatever project you are working on,be sure to change a little, then step back and assess the results. Like a scientist, change one variable at a time, and then see what happens. Find your balance before moving forward. Use your emotions and be practical, too. In a situation with another person, compromise will be necessary. If you’ve been feeling off-kilter, seek balance between work and play, feeling and doing.
Being Lovesick Was a Real Disease in the Middle Ages | Ancient Origins
Love sure does hurt, as the Everly Brothers knew very well. And while it is often romanticised or made sentimental, the brutal reality is that many of us experience fairly unpleasant symptoms when in the throes of love. Nausea, desperation, a racing heart, a loss of appetite, an inability to sleep, a maudlin mood – sound familiar?

Moon in Virgo opposes Chiron the Wounded Healer in PISCES

Chiron, Asclepios, and Apollo the Sun God from Roman fresco
this happens in the early a.m. I can hear those sad blues songs being listened to by many. I can hear the tears falling. Virgo is the sign related to Health. Try to get some sleep and ask for a healing dream to come and help you in your plight. That was the ancient way of healing. Patients would go to the Asclepios, a dream healing Temple to be cured by being given intoxicating herbs and to sleep in the dream temple until they were cured by the Healing Dream.

My husband Napoleon Brousseau’s life was saved through a healing dream he had from King…

Horoscope: Week of February 13, 2017
It is the last week of Aquarius Season already and the Sun moves into elusive Pisces on Saturday. Until Saturday the celestial atmosphere will continue to be hot and dry, dominated by cardinal fire giving it a decided Aries feel. The need to push ahead will be strong, wonderful for making progress towards our future goals.
Early in the week the Aquarius Sun is sextile stable Saturn in Sagittarius, an excellent aspect for laying out the best path to achieve success down the road. Aquarius excels at seeing the big picture but often neglects the necessary practical steps needed to turn those dreams into reality. Saturn in Sagittarius can help us with that because he is a reliable pathfinder and will be able to nudge the Aquarius Sun back into a more realistic approach.
On Thursday Mercury in Aquarius is sextile Mars in Aries. If we need to ask for…

Tarot Contemplation – The Hermit (reversed)

You are being asked to look carefully at the role of solitude in your life. If you’ve been feeling irritable, depressed or moody lately, you may want to take some time alone. Don’t take it personally if a loved one is pushing you away at this time; we all need time for ourselves occasionally. If could be that though you are around other people, you are keeping your thoughts and feelings private for now. Alternatively, you may have been avoiding other people in order to avoid dealing with some situation, or when being anti-social has become a dysfunctional habit for you. It may be time to consider getting out there and connecting with others.

Democracy is not a given. The Greeks experimented with it. Then it faded into oblivion, only to return many centuries later. Nowadays, democracy structures much of our modern world. But could it do a disappearing act again? If there’s enough complaceny and duplicity, you can’t rule it out.

Mac n’ Cheese
Hi all! Jill here –
For as long as I can remember my mom has always made the most delicious mac n’ cheese. It isn’t a creamy or heavy mac n’ cheese but boy oh boy is it delicious! It was the first recipe my mom taught me to make before I left for college and one of the very first meals I made for Eric when we started dating. To say it holds a special place in our family is an understatement. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do!
Ingredients
2 lbs of corkscrew pasta
1 – 8 oz package of extra sharp cheese
1 – 8 oz package of monterey jack cheese
1 – 8 oz bag of shredded mozzarella
4 oz of shredded parmesan
Milk
Salt
Pepper
Directions
Heat oven to 375°. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Cook pasta…

Happy Saturday! Eric here
I don’t know about you but I like to play bartender in our house, even if I’m not legit. This cocktail is a combination of a few of Jill’s favorite things. I put it together using what we had on hand one night, and she just happened to love it! We hope you do too!

2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
Few dashes lavender bitters
Ice cubes
Soda water
Rosemary sprig
Directions
Pour gin, lemon juice and simple syrup into an old fashioned glass and stir together. Fill glass halfway with ice cubes. Fill remainder of glass with soda water and gently stir. Top with a few dashes of bitters and garnish with a rosemary sprig.

“The mind moves matter” – Virgil, Aeneid, book 6, line 727
Some guy who thinks about thinking.
Neuroscientist Mario Beauregard has published an excellent paper in the journal, Progress in Neurobiology. This paper, titled, “Mind does really matter: Evidence from neuroimaging studies of emotional self-regulation, psychotherapy, and placebo effect” presents findings from a wide variety of studies that all support the same thesis: mind is distinct from the brain, and mind has a causal power over the brain.
An excellent read for any student of neuroscience; the conclusion is worth skipping to for those who struggle with neuroscientific terminology.
