Tarot Contemplation – King of Cups

tarot_KingCups

The King of Cups holds the positive qualities of masculine and feminine and speaks of balanced male and female energy.  Often, he indicates a literal man in your life.  Usually, when he represents a “live person,” he’s referring to a very kind and loving man, who will generally have hair on the lighter end of the spectrum.  Know that you are supported by the Universe in ways seen and unseen, when he appears.  Generally, this card represents kindness and compassion.  There is an element of pure and true love in your life no matter your situation when this King appears.  Nurture yourself, and allow others to nurture you.  In the context of work, a male boss or co-worker is very much “on your team”.  Don’t hesitate to ask him for support if you need it. This King bodes well regarding love. If you’re wondering how others feel about you at work, know that they appreciate and respect you and your work more than you know.  Things are likely to be improving at work, actually.  If you’ve got love on your mind, you’re in luck.  Someone with lighter hair who is very balanced and loving is headed your way soon.  Financially, however, it’s time to face the music.  Don’t avoid the reality of your financial situation.  There is also a need to be generous no matter how tight your financial situation might be.  No matter how modest your situation is, there is doubtless something that you can and ought to share with others, even if it’s only an object or your time.  (Notice that we’re still building on these similar energies from yesterday.)  Give with kindness and compassion and trust that whatever goes around, comes around.  Regarding health, trust that the healers in your life are there for a reason.  You will receive good health news from trustworthy health advisors.  Treat your body with care and compassion.  Pay attention to what you are bringing into your body and your surroundings.  Spiritually, meditate on the somewhat contradictory nature of this King … how he combines the generally feminine qualities of compassion, love and concern with masculine energies of action, accomplishment and discernment.  How can you be actively compassionate?  How can you be loving and still draw boundaries?  Begin by drawing boundaries for yourself before considering taking boundaries from others.
