Great article. With that stem hanging down and the pattern on the bottom is reminds me of a mushroom. The dots on the side give the impression of an Amanita Muscaria, frequently connected with Gnostic visionary experience. I’d hedge my best in that direction. Not that I discount the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (E.T) possibility. Alternatively it might have been an alien space craft drifiting across a field after having syphoned some water for a hydrogen based cold fusion reaction. Either way it’s an astonishing find!
