Mind precedes all phenomena,
mind matters most, everything is mind-made.
If with an impure mind
one performs any action of speech or body,
then suffering will follow that person
as the cartwheel follows the foot of the draught animal.

Mind precedes all phenomena,
mind matters most, everything is mind-made.
If with a pure mind
one performs any action of speech or body,
then happiness will follow that person
as a shadow that never departs.

The 10 Stages Of Enlightenment, Explained

Awakened souls tend to attract each other immediately. It’s easier for them to recognize the vibration of each other during encounters. If you’re one of these awakened individuals, you quickly notice other awakened souls almost in all places. Some are fully awakened, while others are just starting their own awakening process. When you notice that others are struggling with their own process, it is your duty to guide them through it.  […]

Stem cells are undifferentiated biological cells that can differentiate into specialized cells and can divide (through mitosis) to produce more stem cells. They are found in multicellular organisms. In mammals, there are two broad types of stem cells: embryonic stem cells, which are isolated from the inner cell mass of blastocysts, and adult stem cells, which are found in various tissues. In adult organisms, stem cells and progenitor cells act as a repair system for the body, replenishing adult tissues. In a developing embryo, stem cells can differentiate into all the specialized cells—ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm (see induced pluripotent stem cells)—but also maintain the normal turnover of regenerative organs, such as blood, skin, or intestinal tissues.

11.11.2017 – Saturn, Uranus and The Moon form an exact Grand Fire Trine at 25 Sagittarius – Aries – Leo.

11.11.2017 – Saturn, Uranus and The Moon form an exact Grand Fire Trine at 25 Sagittarius – Aries – Leo. This is an alignment that will have a strong, planet-wide effect and its ramifications will carry through for decades afterwards.

What this means is that – right here – right now – you are being tested, shown and asked to choose what path you will follow. Where do you stand in this incredibly creative, destructive, alchemical and transformational time on this planet?

This has brought out some incredibly erratic behavior, but ones which reveal the truth of a person´s being. And how they choose to respond to differences in perspectives, choices and paths.

The last time Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Sagittarius trined each other in this way was in the first half of 1928 – and that too, with a 7 degree buffer. It was not an exact…

Pāli Word a Day for November 11, 2017 — jotati— to shine, be splendid

Sace bhāyatha dukkhassa, sace vo dukkhamappiyaṃ,
mākattha pāpakaṃ kammaṃ, āvi vā yadi vā raho.
Sace ca pāpakaṃ kammaṃ, karissatha karotha vā,
Na vo dukkhā pamutyatthi:
upeccapi palāyataṃ.

If you fear pain, if you dislike pain,
don’t do an evil deed in open or secret.
If you’re doing or will do an evil deed,
you won’t escape pain:
it will catch you even as you run away.

Tarot Contemplation – Death

Today may be more about “out with the old and in with the new” as the Death card implies a new beginning. It doesn’t mean you have to throw out all of the old, as you can often salvage something from the past to carry forward into your future.

For Love: Your relationship may be going through some changes which can lead to transformation. Whether you wish for these changes to be positive or negative is in your hands. One thing is certain though, it will not be boring.

For Work: There may be some variety around for you today when it comes to work or you may have a desire to change your job. Whatever you are thinking about doing should work out well for you as the Death card often means change which is usually for the better.

Deeply Nourishing Seasonal Medicine: Delectable Dandelion Root Treats!

Danielle Prohom Olson's avatarGather Victoria

Tis the season for harvesting that super nutritious and medicinal powerhouse—dandelion root! According to herbalist Susun Weed, dandelion roots are best harvested in late fall when they are sweetest and highest in medicinal potency. And while they’re mostly used in tinctures and teas for their many amazing health benefits, my favourite seasonal way to enjoy their superfood goodness is in delicious sweet treats that are sooo good for youthey’re practically guilt free.

Tarot Contemplation – The Empress

There’s a certain amount of give and take today which you may find much joy in. There is strength of character which comes from love, not only of others, but also for your own self. This is the day to pamper yourself.

For love: It’s time for you to be taken care of rather than doing what you always do, which is lavishing care on others. Sit back for a while today and put your feet up and feel the glow of love around you.

For work: The Empress is a card of giving and all too often this giving can be to the detriment of your own needs. If you have been finding this to be the case then ease up on the work today and put that time and energy back into “you”.

10 Signs You’re Half-Assing Your Pagan Ritual

John Halstead's avatarNaturalistic Paganism

I have been fortunate to have attended some great Pagan rituals.  But, gods know, I have suffered through a lot more rituals that were just terrible. A lot of you probably know what I’m talking about.

I know fellow-Patheos blogger, UU minister and Wiccan priestess, Rev. Catharine Clarenbach knows what I am talking about.  She has written about the contrast between the her own Pagan practice and some CUUPS rituals she had attended, which she describes as “tepid at best, and disorganized and appropriative at worst”, and which, she says, don’t get any more powerful than “writing wishes on flash paper and lighting them from the chalice or, at best, an eight-inch cauldron”. I don’t mean to pick on CUUPS rituals. I find this mediocrity to be endemic to public Pagan rituals of all types.

For a long while, I have believed that this was due to a lack…

Medicinal Mushrooms

Jillian Carnrick's avatarThe Dancing Herbalist

Medicinal mushrooms can make a huge impact on your energy levels and ability to cope with stressors. Many also have amazing benefits to cure long standing illnesses and some of the more pervasive cancers. The three that I use most frequently are reishi, cordyceps, and maitake.

Reishi

This is a mushroom you may have already heard of. It is quite common in the united states and you may see it when you are out hiking in the woods. It has a very unique shape and is dark red with a lighter exposed edge.

Reishi is primarily used to support the immune system, activating our natural killer T cells to fight off infections more easily. During the winter months it is great to be taking reishi regularly to help your body fight off any pathogens that come your way. With the immune support, your body has more energy to support its…

Tarot Contemplation – The Hermit

Today may be about digging deep and finding your own inner wisdom. This will not be accomplished if you are out and about with people, so you may find yourself craving your own peace and solitude. If you find this to be the case, do not fight it, but go with the flow.

Love life: You may find that you or your partner need some alone time today. I don’t mean the type where the two of you are together either. This is solitary time alone where you replenish yourself.

Work life: It would be best to work alone today as you will need the peace and quiet this card bestows upon you. This is a great day for doing mental tasks as you will be thinking clearly and with clarity.

and retaliation may overtake you.
