Pāli Word a Day for August 05, 2018 — ñāyassa — of the truth, path of truth, right way

Anupubbena medhāvī, thokaṃ thokaṃ, khaṇe khaṇe,
Kammāro rajatasseva,
niddhame malamattano.

One by one, little by little, moment by moment,
a wise one should remove one’s own impurities,
as a smith removes dross from silver.

Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – Saturday, August 4, 2018

tarotbycecelia's avatarTarot by Cecelia

Welcome to the weekend! The Moon will be in Taurus today, its sign of exaltation. Do not be surprised if you were planning on doing so much and you turn into a veritable couch potato, snacking on potato chips and brownies, and binging on Netflix. The 4 of Cups can be all about the boredom, and with the Taurus Moon, just chillaxing may be in order.

However, the 4 of Cups is also about things such as contemplation and meditation. Currently, the energies may not be such so as to move forward with something new, but you can certainly review your ever-changing status quo. Remember, while you may be uncertain as to what you truly want, half the battle is in knowing what you deem totally unacceptable. Start there with the re-‘s of this retrograde season, then repeat, redo, review, and remove. When the timing is right you will have…

Daily Words of the Buddha for August 04, 2018

Pāli Word a Day for August 04, 2018 — tarati — to cross [a river], to surmount, overcome [the great flood of life, desire, ignorance], to get to the other side, to cross over, as in crossing the ocean of suffering

Na tena paṇḍito hoti
yāvatā bahu bhāsati.
Khemī, averī abhayo
‘‘paṇḍito’’ti pavuccati.

One is not wise
because one speaks much.
One who is peaceable, friendly and fearless
is called “wise”.

Card of the Day – Page of Pentacles – Friday, August 3, 2018

tarotbycecelia's avatarTarot by Cecelia

What a beautiful card from a beautiful deck! It is great to see our money Messenger of the Tarot show up today with the promise of new beginnings and perhaps an incredible financial opportunity in the mix. But, wait! Mercury is retrograde, so what, oh what should you do? The Page of Pentacles can be about that good news for which you’ve been waiting…the possibility of a new job, interview, promotion, or raise. So, how do you handle it?

Ok, so the primary rule of Mercury retrograde when it comes to jobs is not to accept a new one at this time, unless…this offer comes to you through someone for which you have previously worked. That is the basic gist of it. So, if you are working for a company, and they offer you a dream promotion, with greater pay, go for it. But, what if you are a regular…

Pāli Word a Day for August 03, 2018 — kusalarāsī — a heap of merit

Sukho viveko tuṭṭhassa,
sutadhammassa passato.
Abyāpajjaṃ sukhaṃ loke —
pāṇabhūtesu saṃyamo.

Solitude is happiness for one who is content,
who has heard the Dhamma and clearly sees.
Non-affliction is happiness in the world —
harmlessness towards all living beings.

THE MAGICAL ENERGY OF 8/11/18

Lisa Rising Berry's avatarRising Frequencies Blog By Lisa Rising Berry

I had someone ask me if I felt anything special about the date 8/11/18, and I thought for a second, and my answer was yes.  Thanks to my friend, I noticed something interesting about this date. And it is not the hype that the New Age communities can sometimes spread.

CDBookletOutsideTemplateMost people know about the Lion’s Gate that happens yearly on 8/8.  The Lion’s Gate is said to be a portal that people can pass through energetically… IF they vibrate with the proper frequency.  What I have been noticing recently is that everyone will begin to receive the same amount of light from the Universe. This light is the new energy I saw coming in way back in 2014, which prompted me to start writing.  You can go back through my articles for further information. I probably have about 20 articles on this, and they are in the chronological…

The Inherent Power of Words

ReverendRoxie22's avatarThe Ghetto Allegory

June 5 2014 Living with Aloha Meme

Words are very Powerful.

Anyone who does what I Do in this world knows very dearly just how inherently powerful all words are. We do not know their power until they are stated and create a different energy for those who we are trying to convey a message.

At this time, the collective who I refer to as being called #AllUsGuys has begun to make the world aware of the fact that our word Aloha – IT IS NOT FOR SALE!

And I do not want to get into that right now. What I do want to teach you about today is the inherent power within the words that we think, speak, hear…words are very powerful. They are the things that make up our thoughts and we all know – Thoughts are Things.

Thoughts, as well, have words in them, and all those words tend to vibrate at their own…

Card of the Day – 8 of Wands – Thursday, August 2, 2018

tarotbycecelia's avatarTarot by Cecelia

During Eclipse season, and especially when we see both Uranus and Mercury involved, events can happen quickly and it is very often difficult to keep up with the news. We have already experienced two Eclipses and have one more to go…it will be a New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Leo on the 11th. Having a third just adds more wind to the tornado that is Eclipse season; it comes through and rearranges lives forever.

With Mercury also retrograde, it would be a good idea to double- and triple-check information, no matter the source, but especially on the internet. There is a swirling of activity taking place and it is very easy to become caught up in things, and never knowing where you are going to land when all of the spinning stops. Had this card come out at the tail-end of this month, I would be more inclined to…

Paradukkhūpadhānena,
attano sukhamicchati
verasaṃsaggasaṃsaṭṭho,
verā so na parimuccati.

Entangled by the bonds of hate,
one who seeks one’s own happiness
by inflicting pain on others,
is never delivered from hatred.

Pāli Word a Day for August 01, 2018 — kataññū — kata + ññū = what is done + knowing, acknowledging what has been done (to, for one), grateful

Mattāsukhapariccāgā
passe ce vipulaṃ sukhaṃ,
caje mattāsukhaṃ dhīro,
sampassaṃ vipulaṃ sukhaṃ.

If by renouncing a lesser happiness
one may realize a greater happiness,
let the wise one renounce the lesser,
having regard for the greater.
