Yo mātaraṃ pitaraṃ vā,

pahu santo na bharati

Though being well-to-do,
not to support father and mother
who are old and past their youth —
this is a cause of one’s downfall.

Card of the Day – 10 of Cups – Tuesday, August 14, 2018

What will make you happy? This is a much easier week now that all three eclipses are out of the way. Focus is once again turning toward hopes and dreams and all things which can be emotionally fulfilling. The 10 of Cups is our Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! card, and it is amazing what a difference a few days can make. This is also another marriage card, as is the 4 of Wands which just came out two days ago, and I am mentioning this for there shall be one more before the week is done. It doesn’t need to be a marriage between two people, but since the theme is so prominent I felt the need to mention it.
Our last trine with Jupiter and Neptune is drawing near this week, and the feelgood vibe seemse to be spilling over into the rest of the days. Humanity is showing…

Card of the Day – 4 of Wands – Sunday, August 12, 2018

I think there is a big old YAY!!! in here somewhere! You did it after all, you made it to the other side, that’s three eclipses down, now a couple of retrogrades to go. The 4 of Wands is pretty much the most positive card in the Tarot deck, just giving off a feelgood mood. So, now that you are here, what is it you need to celebrate besides navigating three eclipses? There can be actual parties involved here, but there do not need to be. This card denotes freedom and community as well and it has that whole ‘your vibe attracts your tribe’ thing happening.
I am reminded to speak of both sides of the story today, given that Mercury and Mars are both currently retrograde. No matter where you are in the world, it is possible to see some form of protest taking place; some may be peaceful…

12 Karmic Laws We Should All be Following – Forever Conscious

Karma. We have all heard the word, but what does is really mean? The term Karma is derived from Sanskrit, the primary language of Hinduism, and is defined as action, effect and fate. Just like Newton’s law of ‘every action must have a reaction’, karma means the same. Every time we have a thought, speak, […]

Card of the Day – 2 of Wands – Saturday, August 11, 2018

New Moon blessings, everyone! Today is the New Moon Supermoon Partial Solar Eclipse at Leo, the last Leo Solar Eclipse which we will see for a number of years. Truly, you are standing at an important crossroads…which path will provide you with the progress to make your hopes and dreams a reality? Finally, the choice is yours; choices made at this New Moon and over the next few days will determine the route you take in the coming months.
You may surprise yourself with the way things go and what you ultimately decide to do. When considering your options, unless there is a crisis involved, always choose the one which brings about manifestation for the long-term. Any choice which provides short-term gratification is merely that. Remember, Mercury is still retrograde until the 19th, and Mars through the 27th, but this New Moon is here to show you that you do…

New Moon Supermoon Partial Solar Eclipse at 18° Leo – Saturday, August 11, 2018 5:58am EST

The Bringer of Change is here to help move you along in the next two weeks by the time of the Full Moon in Pisces. Current events are designed to put you back on track with your life and feel as though you can exert greater control over outcomes to situations. There is a removal from bondage, that old stuck feeling that has plagued you. When all is said and done you will realize that ultimately it was all about free will; you are only as stuck as you allow yourself to be. The time has come to step out of the shadows and take charge. You may currently feel as though some things are on hold, but in the next couple of weeks we will start removing planets from the retrograde column.
This New Moon provides the impetus to make your move toward a desired new beginning. The creative…

Nagasaki bell ringing strengthens bond between generations
August 9, 1945 marked a day of triumph and tragedy.
The United States military launched an atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Nagasaki just days after decimating Hiroshima.
Days later Japan would surrender.
A then 19-year-old Kayako Kunimoto has never forgotten the bombing.
“Some remember is very horrible. War is crazy, was crazy,” Kunimoto said. […]
