Decreasing antibiotic use can reduce transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms

Decreasing antibiotic use can reduce transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms

Reducing antibiotic use in intensive care units by even small amounts can significantly decrease transmission of dangerous multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), according to new research published online today in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology, the journal of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. Researchers developed models to demonstrate the impact of reducing antibiotics by 10% and by 25%, and found corresponding reductions in spread of the deadly bacteria of 11.2 percent and 28.3 percent, respectively. “Antibiotic exposure is the most significant driver of resistance. In the hospital setting, nearly 50 percent of all patients receive an antibiotic, including up to 75 percent of all critically ill patients,” said Sean Barnes, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Operations Management in the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and lead author of the study. “But what is really troubling is that nearly half of all antibiotics prescribed may be inappropriate. Even moderate reductions in antibiotic use can reduce transmission of MDROs.” Many hospitals and health systems in the U.S. are making efforts to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use through antimicrobial stewardship programs and various interventions to help ensure that patients get the right antibiotics at the right time for the right duration. Research has demonstrated the benefits of these measures on patient care and costs, but the impact on the rate of MDROs has been difficult to assess. To do so, researchers used a mathematical model, known as agent-based modeling to simulate the interactions between patients and healthcare workers. In the model, some patients were designated as colonized with an MDRO and a portion of patients received antibiotics (75 percent). The model assumed that transmission among patients occurred primarily via contaminated hands of healthcare workers.

Shamanic Animal Appearance: Jaguar (Power)

Jaguar says to you: “You are not a victim. You are powerful and strong enough to handle anything.”

Jaguar spirit has come to help you reconnect with your personal power.  Do you feel vulnerable or helpless?  Do you often feel pain in your belly or root chakra?  Has fear been the main emotion in your life lately?  If the answer is “Yes”, then you may now need to feel your power again.  Don’t confuse power with manipulation or domination, however.  Many people try desperately to change the circumstances of their life, and if they cannot, they feel defeated.  This is not a place of power, but a place of struggle and avoidance.  A real place of power is facing any challenge, knowing you are strong enough to overcome it.  Which is always the case, by the way, as life never confronts you with things you cannot really handle.  So, whatever you may be experiencing right now, just face it boldly, breathe, and say firmly to yourself, “I am more than strong enough to handle this.”  Feel your power again and fear will eventually vanish.

Wildman, Chinese Version of Bigfoot: Sightings, Scientific Tests, Theories | Ancient Origins

All over the world are similar reports of a large creature that is ape-like, yet walks upright on two feet and displays other human characteristics. In North #America, we know him as Sasquatch or Bigfoot. In #China, he is called #Yeren, or Wildman. Dozens of scientists from high-level institutions in China have studied Yeren evidence. In 1980, more than 100 investigators were even sent on an expedition into the heart of “Yeren territory.”

– Affirmation Eggs –

One of my most favourite sabbat activities is affirmation eggs (my take on a fortune cookie). The first time I made them was for a coven ritual I wrote back in 2012, those eggs were no where near as pretty as these ones they were just simply dyed with food colouring in a single colour. Even then though the reaction from my then coven members was surprise at what I asked them to do with the egg that they had chosen.

Meditation: The Gayatri Mantra, with Deva Premal and Miten

OM Bhûr Bhuvah Svah

Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhîmahi
Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat
Pranaam. Gayatri Mantra is in honour of Sun. Written in Rigaved, Originally called ‘ Savitr’ Mantr, Savitr is Sanskrit name for Sun. How the name became Gayatri Mantra is not known. Perhaps because it has a 24 Syllables structure (Sanskrit/Vedic grammar calls such hymns – gayatri). Literal meaning:
Om (The life word or the cosmic sound, should emanate from Navel)

Bhur-one who has given life, Bhuvah-one who destroys sorrow

Swaha – brings joy

Tat- that

Savitur – glorious like sun

varenyam – the best (incomparable)

Bhargo – hindi meaning “uddhaar karne wala” closest english ‘ leads to salvation’

devasya – hey prabhu

dhimahi – worthy of self introspection (atma-chintan, or look inwards towards soul)

dhiyo yo nah prachodayat – “O life giving, sorrow remover, who gives joy and happiness, there is no one like whom, who provides salvation to the soul, pray give us strength, intellect and ability to look into our own soul”
As with most of Sanskrit text more than one meaning can be assigned due to the nature of sanskrit grammar. Also many things are difficult to translate exactly in english from Hindi or sankrit, However, In matters of love and devotion, meaning is always secondary, what matters is “bhav” or the feeling generated within self. Feeling, compassion is the Core in Bhakti (Bhakti-Bhav).

Meditation: Feel The Inner Presence, by Osho

staring-candles

This technique is based on inner sensitivity. First grow in sensitivity. Just close your doors, make the room dark, and light a small candle. Sit near the candle with a very loving attitude – rather, with a prayerful attitude…. Take a bath, throw cold water on your eyes, then sit in a very prayerful mood before the candle. Look at it and forget everything else. Just look at the small candle – the flame and the candle. Go on looking at it. After five minutes you will feel that many things are changing in the candle. They are not changing in the candle, remember; your eyes are changing.

With a loving attitude, with the whole world closed out, with total concentration, with a feeling heart, just go on looking at the candle and the flame. Then you will discover new colors around the flame, new shades which you were never aware were there. They are there; the whole rainbow is there. Wherever light is, the rainbow is there because light is all color. You need a subtle sensitivity. Just feel it and go on looking at it. Even if tears start flowing, go on looking at it. Those tears will help your eyes to be more fresh….

Sensitivity must grow. Your every sense must become more alive. Then you can experiment with this technique.

Feel the cosmos as a translucent ever-living presence.

Everywhere light is – in many, many shapes, forms, light is happening everywhere. Look at it! And everywhere light is because the whole phenomenon is based on the foundation of light. Look at a leaf or a flower or a rock, and sooner or later you will feel rays coming out of it. Just wait patiently. Don’t be in a hurry because nothing is revealed when you are in a hurry. In a hurry you are dull.

Wait silently with anything, and you will discover a new phenomenon which was always there, but of which you were not alert – not aware of it…. Your mind will become completely silent as you feel the presence of the ever-living existence. You will be just a part in it, just a note in the great symphony. No burden, no tension…the drop has fallen into the ocean. But great imagination will be needed in the beginning, and the sensitivity training will be helpful….

All these techniques also change your body chemistry. If you feel the whole world as filled with life, light, then you are changing your body chemistry. And this is a chain reaction. When your body chemistry changes, you can look at the world and it will look more alive. And if it looks more alive, your body chemistry will change again, and then it becomes a chain.

History – Wat Tilok Aram: The 500-Year-Old Underwater Temple of Thailand | Ancient Origins

Submerged beneath an artificial lake in Northern Thailand is a 500-year-old temple known as Wat Tilok Aram. A stone inscription records that King Tilokkarad commanded Chao San Hua, the King of Muang Phayao, to establish the temple in 1476 – 1486 as an offering to the greatest king in the region. The temple stood for nearly five centuries until an irrigation project in 1939 inundated the temple, along with more than 10 other ancient sites.

Metaphysics and Cymatics: Plants Can Speak! Water Has Memory. The Universe is Conscious!

WATER has EMOTIONAL MEMORY! The universe is conscious! The elements all communicate with one another, even at cosmic distances (because of entanglement?)
Science shows us remarkable evidence that plants are not only alive, but can think, feel, even speak.
And PLANTS can also FEEL our EMOTIONS and interact with us.
Plants know when other life dies, or is in distress.
We are all inter-connected in ways we have not been taught in school. Water has emotional memory.
Water also show evidence of quantum entanglement, action at a distance, as well as the ability to communicate over vast distances instantly.
Perhaps all the elements found in the cosmos are connected with universal consciousness? Using plants as a tool to communicate throughout the galaxy and beyond.
Science could be using hydrogen to communicate with other hydrogen.

We are water.
Water may be imprinted with every energy it is exposed to. so are we.
There are facts about how the ‘reality’ we call life actually operates, that most people do not know, and will not be told.
It is time humanity learns about his connection to the intelligent conscious cosmos, and, perhaps, find our creator.
Hopefully, men of science may be convinced to stop producing technology used for evil, murder and control, and begin to create a world where human kind lives in harmony with all life.
HOWEVER, in nature as in cosmology, there may be forces/life forms that desire what we are or what we have, and they may stop at nothing to take everything from us.
How do we prepare for such an event?
How do we open our minds to the possibilities that science has created?
alternate dimensions? time travel? deportation? interaction with non-human species or intelligence?
Humanity has a hard time dealing with itself. being ruled and controlled by people and forces that do not have humanities best interests in mind.
We still have not discovered a way to live without greed, murder, fear, poverty, sickness, injustice, genocide, etc.
Does humanity even have a chance?
I hope and pray we do.
We are a wondrous species capable of the greatest love and the worst violent hate.
Will we ever live in peace?

I hope this video will help to open your heart and mind to the interconnectedness of all life.
We have a long way to go before we understand how our world actually works.
We owe it to ourselves, each other, our creator, and all life everywhere, to work toward enlightenment, to attain a higher level of consciousness and understanding.
In a new world order world, where we are being mind controlled, scaler wave attacks, misinformation information warfare, weather control, depopulation, war, hate, disease, death, cults, murder, poverty, greed, hate, stupidity and satanic deeds and worship, perhaps it would be wise for humanity to LEARN THE TRUTH ABOUT LIFE, CONSCIOUSNESS, and EVERYTHING!

When we think about plants, we don’t often associate a term like “behavior” with them, but experimental plant ecologist JC Cahill wants to change that. The University of Alberta professor maintains that plants do behave and lead anything but solitary and sedentary lives. What Plants Talk About teaches us all that plants are smarter and much more interactive than we thought!

Health News – A Secret Has Been Uncovered: Cancer Is Not A Disease, But Business!

We are constantly afraid of the word cancer, as we are surrounded by people who suffer from it, and it seems that no one can defeat this deadly disease.  However, what we have to say about it is that it is not a real disease. Cancer is a business, and we are paying its toll.  Millions of people suffer from cancer, regardless of their age and sex. However, most of them are still unaware of the fact that they are being manipulated.
