Good morning and Happy Saturday, People. In speech is life, in speech is death. In ancient Hawai’i, a kahuna ‘ana’ana could pray someone to death or counter another’s death prayer. The saying tells the Hawaiians that words can either be a source for healing or destroying and so we need to be careful with our words. Peace be with you.

This summer wasn’t the best for Chicago-based Aloha Poke. The chain of seafood bowl restaurants was targeted and accused of cultural appropriation after it was revealed that they were threatening other eateries with legal action for using any derivation of the words “aloha” with “poke”, based on a trademark the company owns. Well the backlash may have been too much to handle, as Aloha Poke Co. has closed its sole San Diego outpost after only two months in business.  […]

The Campaign to Free Hawai`i

• Upon realizing that our country, the Kingdom of the Hawaiian Islands still exists and that the United States had for years been operating unlawfully in our country, many of us embraced our Hawaiian nationality and began working to free ourselves and our country from US encroachment and encampment. What eventually emerged is what is called, The Campaign to Free Hawai`i.

• The Campaign to Free Hawai`i works to – 1. expose the fraud perpetrated by the United States; 2, demand the US withdraw from operating in our country and, 3. bring about a peaceful and orderly transition to reactivate our Kingdom.

• The Campaign to Free Hawai`i welcomes all the peoples — whether living in the Hawaiian Islands or elsewhere — to join us in putting our hearts and minds together in the reactivation of the Hawaiian Kingdom as a sovereign state.

• We Hawaiians call on all Americans to urge their President, Donald J. Trump, to agree to a peace treaty with the Hawaiian Kingdom for the normalization and resumption of proper, friendly relations between our countries.

• We Hawaiians call on the global community to support freedom for Hawai`i and we invite countries from around the world to revive and honor existing treaties and agreements to normalize relations with our Hawaiian Kingdom.
