Contemplations …

Time tells us we are a separate ego-self and our fate depends on what happens to our bodies and minds. In truth, we are timeless, whole, ever-present awareness, interconnected to a greater consciousness.

Daily Words of the Buddha for May 06, 2018

Khīṇaṃ purāṇaṃ nava
natthi sambhavaṃ,
virattacittāyatike bhavasmiṃ.
Te khīṇabījā, avirūḷhichandā.
Nibbanti dhīrā yathāyaṃ padīpo.
When past conditioning is released
and no fresh one produced,
the mind no longer seeks for future birth.
The seed consumed, cravings no more arise.
Such-minded wise ones cease like [the flame of] this lamp.

Daily Tarot | Card of the Day – 6 of Swords – Sunday, May 6, 2018
Ahhhh! Headed for smoother waters at last! And so the transition begins…you can not know everything which is coming your way over the next six to seven weeks, so you will need to trust in the Universe to guide you. This is a card of safe passage, where you are more along for the ride, than being in charge of everything, so the trust factor is extremely important.
The 6 of Swords signifies a switch from turbulence along your path, to easier times. It isn’t always the smoothest ride getting there, but keeping the faith will see you through until you have reached a calmer place, or distant shoreline, if you will. It is possible that this transition has not been a totally welcome one, but, it is however necessary. So much is ready to change before you, you just need to trust in the journey.
See you here tomorrow!

Daily Words of the Buddha for May 05, 2018

Anekajātisaṃsāraṃ
sandhāvissaṃ, anibbisaṃ
gahakāraṃ gavesanto;
dukkhā jāti punappunaṃ.
Gahakāraka! Diṭṭhosi.
Puna gehaṃ na kāhasi.
Sabbā te phāsukā bhaggā,
gahakūṭaṃ visaṅkhataṃ.
Visaṅkhāragataṃ cittaṃ:
taṇhānaṃ khayamajjhagā.
Through countless births in the cycle of existence
I have run, not finding
although seeking the builder of this house;
and again and again I faced the suffering of new birth.
Oh housebuilder! Now you are seen.
You shall not build a house again for me.
All your beams are broken,
the ridgepole is shattered.
The mind has become freed from conditioning:
the end of craving has been reached.

Daily Tarot | Card of the Day – 5 of Wands – Saturday, May 5, 2018
Why can’t we all just get along? There is a change taking place here. Where normally the 5 of Wands is representative of struggles, conflicts and competition, we can see that the tide is changing in this area. If you have been following me for a while, and listen to me on Patreon, then you are aware that months ago I spoke of the changes which would come about with North Korea. Getting along with one another is much more productive than being at odds, wouldn’t you say?
Today is not only about global events seen in the news. Use this 5 of Wands in your own life. By working together in unison, so much more can be accomplished; it is notmeant for someone to try to outdo another, for we are all equal. When everyone joins forces, acting on the same page, it is then possible to build…

Agony now, agony hereafter,
the wrong-doer suffers agony in both worlds.
Agonized now by the knowledge that one has done wrong,
one suffers more agony, gone to a state of woe.
Rejoicing now, rejoicing hereafter,
the doer of wholesome actions rejoices in both worlds.
Rejoicing now in the knowledge that one has acted rightly,
one rejoices more, gone to a state of bliss.

Daily Tarot | Card of the Day – The High Priestess – Friday, May 4, 2018
May the 4th be with you today, as Mercury leaves shadow and the road ahead is much clearer, at least for the next week or so. This is a great day to consult with your inner voice, or intuition, if you will, to help guide you toward what comes next. Try to apply this High Priestess today in the realm of hindsight being 20/20, for the past is not a place meant to be revisited. Understanding how you arrived here will help you to determine what steps are necessary between now and September. Whether you realize it, or not, you are currently in the midst of a critical juncture.
You may wish to emplore the all-seeing, all-knowing, High Priestess, to show you what is to come, but, honestly the road ahead is not a straight one. If you follow my in-depth, lengthy, special Tarot Guidances, then you are aware of…

Zazen for Shamans
To sit zazen is to meditate on the nature of existence.
For a shamanic practitioner, meditating on the nature of existence means working to get in touch with all the aspects and layers of reality. Zen teaches that the ultimate nature of reality is illusion, with reality being thing/no-thing beyond ordinary comprehension, available through the discipline of zazen. You sit zazen so that you can see the distinction between the shadows on the cave wall of your mind and the things which cast the shadows. (See what I did there? Plato reference. You’re welcome.)
For Zen Buddhists, zazen is a seated meditation, usually.
Sometimes Zen Buddhists walk to meditate, but by and large when you go to your sangha or community to sit zazen you’re going to be literally sitting down. The pillows used in zazen are called a zafu and zabuton. The zafu is a round, flatish, buckwheat filled…

Mind precedes all phenomena,
mind matters most, everything is mind-made.
If with an impure mind
one performs any action of speech or body,
then suffering will follow that person
