Na tena paṇḍito hoti
yāvatā bahu bhāsati.
Khemī, averī abhayo
‘‘paṇḍito’’ti pavuccati.

One is not wise
because one speaks much.
One who is peaceable, friendly and fearless
is called “wise”.
