Hello and good morning to all you good people.  We are half way through the work week.  Keep moving forward, play time is almost here.  Have a beautiful day.

Tarot Contemplation – Temperance

Today is about looking at what you want and being prepared to go after it. This will not be accomplished through sheer force of will as Temperance is more about being calm and patient in seeing your goals come to fruition. It’s more like going on an easy walk rather than climbing a mountain.

For Love: You love life should be flowing quite smoothly. Communication will be easy, emotions in balance and you should be feeling a sense of inner calm. It is these three states, communication, emotions and inner calm, that will get you what you want.

For Work: The card of Temperance suggests an even amount of work coming in and going out thus making your work flow smoothly and with ease. Don’t make make more work for yourself than you need to.

Pāli Word a Day for November 08, 2017 — atikkamati — to go beyond, to pass over, to cross, to conquer, to surpass, to overcome

Mātā yathā niyaṃ
puttamāyusā ekaputtamanurakkhe,
evampi sabbabhūtesu
mānasaṃ bhāvaye aparimāṇaṃ.

As a mother would risk her life
to protect her child, her only child,
even so should one cultivate a limitless heart
with regard to all beings.

Sutta Nipāta 1.149
Translated from Pāli by Thanissaro Bhikkhu

A Personal Evocation

O Great Creator, I come before you in a humble manner and offer you this sacred pipe. With tears in my eyes and an ancient song from my heart I pray. To the four powers of Creation, To the Grandfather Sun, To the Grandmother Moon, To the Mother Earth, And to my ancestors. I pray for my relations in Nature, All those who walk, crawl, fly, and swim, Seen and unseen, To the good spirits that exist in every part of Creation. I ask that you bless our elders and children, families, and friends, and the brothers and sisters who are in prison. I pray for the ones who are sick on drugs and alcohol and for those who are now homeless and forlorn. I also pray for peace among the four races of humankind.

May there be good health and healing for this Earth,
May there be Beauty above me, May there be Beauty below me,
May there be Beauty in me, May there be Beauty all around me.
I ask that this world be filled with Peace, Love, and Beauty.

Scientists Discover Biophotons In The Brain That Could Hint Our Consciousness is Directly Linked to Light!

Scientists found that neurons in mammalian brains were capable of producing photons of light, or “Biophotons”! The photons, strangely enough, appear within the visible spectrum. They range from near-infrared through violet, or between 200 and 1,300 nanometers. Scientists have an exciting suspicion that our brain’s neurons might be able to communicate through light. They suspect that our brain might […]

Tarot Contemplation – The Star

A little wishful thinking can go a long way, especially when you have the card of The Star to back you up. This is the day to bring your dreams into reality, wish on a star and see where it takes you. One thing is for sure, you’ll have a smile on your face and the mood to match it.

For Love: Your love life looks good today. In fact, it looks great! Very little can go wrong for you and if you have been having any niggling doubts about where your relationship is heading, then you’ll probably find that today you are not so bothered. Use this energy to propel your wishes forward to where you would like your love life to be.

For Work: If you have been thinking of expanding your horizons with work, then now is the time to do so. It may be that a “dream job” falls right into your lap or you hear something that requires you to further investigate this job. Do not hold back. Go after your dream.

Pāli Word a Day for November 06, 2017 — attaññū — one who knows oneself

Abhittharetha kalyāṇe;
pāpā cittaṃ nivāraye.
Dandhañhi karoto puññaṃ,
pāpasmiṃ ramatī mano.

Hasten to do good;
restrain your mind from evil.
One who is slow in doing good,
that one’s mind delights in evil.

Self Love Bath

belladonnamoonsong's avatarBella's Book of Shadows

It’s important to remember that you are loved. By the most important person there is: you, of course! If you need a little help with the loving-yourself part, this bath will definitely do the trick.

  • 2 Parts Epsom Salts
  • 1 Part Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 3 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 1 Scoop of Coconut Oil
  • Optional: A handful or lavender buds or pink rose petals

Draw your bath at the temperate you like best. Epsom salts will help relax your muscles while the coconut oil softens your skin. Let the aromatherapeutic benefits of lavender lighten you, and the pastel pink himalayan salt will hold in warmth and happiness. What can I say? You’re lovable!

Tarot Contemplation – The Moon

The card of the Moon implies confusion and muddled thinking. This will not be the day to make decisions, especially if they would have far-reaching consequences. The energy around you today is far more conducive to daydreaming and relaxing, not pushing yourself to do too much.

For Love: Your love life may be in a bit of a conundrum as you try to sort out the truth from the untruths. That said, it is always better to not go running into an unclear situation. As the facts you need are not at hand just yet, try giving yourself some much needed time to get back into “you”. If you can do this, you will have the best possible chance of sifting through the facts when they do come to light.

For Work: Idle gossip could get you into trouble today, so don’t go acting upon all you hear even if you trust the source of the information. Emotions may be running high and practical input may be running low. To even this out you need to step away from any explosive situations. Tell yourself there is always tomorrow to sort out any problems that may arise.

Daily Words of the Buddha for November 05, 2017

Pāli Word a Day for November 05, 2017 — kataññu-katavedita — acknowledging the debt owed to others and paying it back with gratitude

Pathavisamo no virujjhati,
indakhilupamo tādi subbato,
rahadova apetakaddamo
saṃsārā na bhavanti tādino.

There is no more worldly existence for the wise one who,
like the earth, resents nothing,
who is firm as a high pillar
and as pure as a deep pool free from mud.

Dhammapada 7.95
The Dhammapada: The Buddha’s Path of Wisdom, translated from Pāli by Acharya Buddharakkhita

Tarot Contemplation – Judgment

If you have decisions to make today then don’t go jumping to conclusions without knowing all of the facts. The card of Judgement means you have time to choose your next course of action and that you also need to weigh up the pro’s and con’s before doing so.

For love: You may feel as if you need to decide if your relationship is good for you. If you find yourself in this predicament it would be a good idea to give yourself some “time out” from the relationship and spend some quality time alone. This will help clear your mind and make it easier for you to see your way forward.

For work: This is not the day to be relaxed about your work commitments. There are factors at work, whether in your immediate work circle or outside of your control, which may cause you to find you are being judged on your performance. Take the time today to do things right.

Daily Words of the Buddha for November 04, 2017

Pāli Word a Day for November 04, 2017 — mattaññū — one of moderation

Gataddhino visokassa
vippamuttassa sabbadhi,
sabbaganthappahīnassa,
pariḷāho na vijjati.

The fever of passion exists not for one
who has completed the journey,
who is sorrowless and wholly set free,
and has broken all ties.
