Tasseva tena pāpiyo,
yo kuddhaṃ paṭikujjhati.
Kuddhaṃ appaṭikujjhanto,
saṅgāmaṃ jeti dujjayaṃ.

The worse of the two is one,
who, when abused, retaliates.
One who does not retaliate,
wins a battle hard to win.
