The number 2 is about balance … and after all the changes that are manifesting in your life at the moment, balance is exactly what is required to get back on track. Your partnerships with an-other … whether friendships, romantic, business … are doing all right, but how much are you willing to give and take to maintain the balance? You’re not always right and everyone, to some degree, has something to offer in a partnership. Keeping communications open ensures strong partnerships. If you’re waiting on others for decisions to be made that affect you, remain patient and don’t push. Watch your finances and make sure you know where you stand money-wise to the penny: balance your books. Meditate on how you are feeling about the things/people in your life. Remember that balance begins with how you’re feeling about yourself, so give yourself the Time to deal with your emotional self first.

Good day and Happy Friday, everyone. Have a nice (Fathers Day) weekend. Peace be with you.

This sign continues to show you the nature of energies that came in yesterday with the Wheel of Fortune. Changes are definitely here today. He loli ʻole, ke ʻalo aʻe, he paīo kōho. Change is inevitable; struggle is an option. (This is a great mantra to shift you into a more upbeat mindset.) Today, you might find that folks you previously relied upon are no longer available to you … and these changes you might find difficult to accept. But, you must move on and move forward, Friends. You were told a couple of days ago that you reap what you sow (Seven of Pentacles). Continue what you started yesterday and keep your head up … and remember that all things happen for a reason.

Translated from the Pali by Thanissaro Bhikkhu

Ingredients:
Cake:
6 eggs
6 tablespoons sugar (lower the glycemic index by using raw Turbinado sugar)
3 tablespoons coconut oil
3 tablespoons cocoa
5 tablespoons flour (use coconut flour to make this gluten-free)
10 g baking powder
Cream:
1 litre of milk
8 tablespoons sugar (remember, Turbinado sugar)
200 g shredded coconut
15 teaspoons flour (again, can substitute coconut flour)
50 g butter
Glaze:
100 g dark chocolate
50 g butter (check out Miyoko Schinner’s Vegan butter – no difference!!)
Preparation:
Beat eggs and sugar until the mixture is foamy, stir in 3 tablespoons of oil, cocoa, flour and baking powder.
The resulting mixture pour into a pre-greased and floured pan and bake at 170 C for 20 min.
While the cake is baking, cook coconut with milk and sugar. When the milk boils add flour and cook over low heat stirring constantly until the flour thickens. In the warm cream mix add butter and stir until dissolved. Still warm cream pour over the cake. Cool off.
Melt chocolate over steam, add butter and stir until dissolved. Pour over cake and let it cool off. The cooled cake cut into squares.

Good day and Happy Wednesday, everyone. When love is given, love should be returned; anger is the thing that gives no life. Hawaiians understood the transforming power of aloha. Love begets love, and enmity produces enmity. Anger only serves to hurt the angry, causing emotional upset, which impairs mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Peace be with you.

This is a very spiritual and karmically-oriented time. Change is on your horizon and, for most of you, this is a very good thing. If you’ve been getting through a rough patch on your Life’s journey, then things are looking up for you today. If you’ve been riding high on the hog lately, then perhaps today’s changes might bring you back down to earth, and so take care. Be grateful for the things in your life and keep your perspective clear. You might decide that now is a good time to walk away from your comfy routine of a job and do something else that is more in alignment with what best serves you and your skill set. If you are feeling like changing jobs but don’t know where to start, call up someone who does what you dream of doing yourself … Be bold, and ask him/her to lunch and ask whether you could shadow this person for a day as a way of researching the possibilities and opportunities. You just might be surprised with a positive response. Whatever you decide to do today, do not resist the winds of Change. Minimize your body stress by maintaining your good nutrition habits you’ve been cultivating, alongside giving yourself plenty of rest and exercise. Bottom line: accept whatever your fair share of responsibility is for the situation you are currently facing … be accountable to yourself if to no one else … and move on. Sometimes, things do just happen. If this is you today, remember you are never alone in that experience so reach out for support because the support you need is truly always available.

Good day and Happy Tuesday, everyone. Remember to Live the day to the fullest, and live it as your day. Peace be with you.

Today you experience a return on your investments … of time, of resources … reaping what you’ve sown. So, you’re feeling rather smarmy this morning. You may have to decide whether to put your energy into the things, people and situations that you already are involved with, or whether to spend your energy trying to bring more into your life. Choose wisely. What is happening for you today is the direct result of what you did in the past … and this holds true at work and with your finances, especially. (Pentacles are all about material abundance, after all.) You have done well minding your resources and investments. The 7 for today indicates that your relationships are also doing well, especially with the person you are most intimately involved with at this time. All is well … no need to fear or worry about anyone on this front. Observe and take note that Life is cyclical … it is a Wheel, thus, whatever goes around, comes around. Remember that when you make a point to be generous … whether with your time, energy or money … that too is an investment in your own future. Share what you have and accept gratefully what you are given.

Since I put out the call for “Caucasian Males above the age of 21” to stand up for their states of Union and assert “unimpeachable” claims on the land, I have had no end of ignorant people calling me up in a white hot lather about that, with all sorts of ugly assumptions in hand.
Just remember that the first part of “assumption” is “ass”.
Obviously, I am a woman, so I have no reason to like the idea that “only” males can do this. And also, obviously, I am color blind, so I have no reason to like the idea of “white only” as well.
The fact is that the treaties and agreements that need to be exercised to claim the land mass of this country were all written back in the 1700-1800s and the only people who had legal standing back…

The second year my former Bird of Paradise Gigantis bloomed … this was my office plant in my Downtown San Francisco office years ago. She’s in the care of my oldest student and dear friend, Trish Lee. Here’s her blog about this amazing plant. Enjoy! It is truly magnificent.
I just had to share – this white bird of paradise gigantis was gifted to me from our dear friend Victoria at The Halau nearly a decade ago. For a while it was a very manageable sized plant that lived out front in a pot. Then, deciding it needed more room to grow, I put it in the ground. It grew by leaps and bounds and even became a great stabilizing plant for my grape vine (maybe that’ll produce grapes someday). But after many years in the ground, and its height reaching nearly two stories now, I just wasn’t sure if it would ever bloom. Recently, due to HOA landscaping guidelines, I needed to give it a good trimming back, which included removal of a lot of the little baby plants around the shallow root system. I knew the plant was in a little shock but was doing just fine.

Now that you’ve decided to take on a few projects, you are challenged with juggling to keep everything in balance. You are likely looking to balance a couple of major areas in your life … money and health, love and work … but multi-tasking is not your strong suit at the moment. Step back and reassess all the things you are involved with at the moment to discern and reprioritize what’s important to accomplish now. Focus on two main tasks, at the most, to begin sorting through your To-Do list. You can apply this same approach if you’re job-hunting, too. Narrow your focus on no more than two strong possibilities and give your full attention there. This is also a good time to consider making a wise investment, if you can afford it. Give your health the healing attention it deserves by making time to get enough rest and relaxation time … it’s important nourishment to nurture your Spirit.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF SWEET POTATOES
