This is why zoos and aquariums ought to re-think the whole notion behind holding captive wild (and free) animals … they cannot heal themselves and then what? Wasted life. This is so very sad …

We’re in for a some great energy shifts starting with the Full Moon in sensitive Cancer. Cancer rules the home, making this day perfect for spending with your family. Full Moons are fabulous for clearing + letting go. Are there some old grudges you’ve been holding with a family member? If so, perhaps you may want to consider forgiving the past and starting 2016 with a fresh slate. Let go of any ill will and focus this day on creating a healthy change with the ones you love. Uranus turns direct at 9:53 PM CST, which indicates change is on the way and progress is ahead. Mercury in a harmonious aspect to Jupiter adds an optimistic energy to conversations – which may keep confrontations to a minimum.
The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life.

The recipe for this Tuscan cake is based on a ratio of weight (cups and ounces are given too, though you can see it’s a lot easier to remember in grams!). It’s an old-fashioned recipe that I found in a cookbook by Claudia Spargi on the cuisine of Tuscany’s Maremma region. It makes a cake that is springy, moist and delicately flavored—the kind of cake Italians would call a “breakfast cake” and the perfect blank canvas, too, for those who want to play around with adding more to it. Traditional Italian favorites might be lemon or orange zest, vanilla extract, a splash of rum or sambuca, or chopped nuts, chocolate, or dried fruit. A layer of sliced apples or pears over the top would be delicious, too. The options are pretty much endless. It keeps very well, wrapped well in plastic wrap. Leave as is or dust with confectioners’ sugar.
This recipe comes from More Home Cooking (Haper Perennial, 1995).Of it Colwin wrote: “After a while I began to long for something new, and in another English book, Delia Smith’s

It was said that Shiva’s lingam (phallus) was so impressive that even two other all-powerful gods, Braham and Vishnu, could not find its end. Thousands of rock carvings representing Shiva’s lingam, as well as female sexual symbols, have emerged from a river in Karnataka State because of low water levels. People gather there to worship Shiva in his form as the lingam.
Dry weather has caused a drop in the level of the Shalmala River in Karnataka State, India, revealing thousands of carvings in the rock bed of male and female sexual symbols – linga and yoni – and

In August 2005, a tiny mummified body was found in the ancient Persian village of Makhunik in what is now Iran.
The discovery caused an international sensation when researchers reported that the remains belonged to an adolescent dwarf and that excavations of the ancient town revealed architecture that suggested it was a city of little people. Here we explore whether an ancient city of dwarfs really existed, or whether it is all just media sensation.
