This kebab is a beautiful and aromatic blend of lamb, beef, herbs and spices.  And, it’s easy to prepare in advance, freeze and grill as needed.  In fact, I recommend freezing them so that the meat sticks well to the skewer.  Fair warning though – our first “test batch” of these kebabs were gobbled up in no time flat.  I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did!

1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground lamb
6 cloves garlic, finely minced
½ onion, grated
½ cup fresh chopped parsley
¼ cup fresh chopped cilantro

½ teaspoon freshly ground cumin
1 ½ teaspoon kosher salt

I like to think I’m a label reader when it comes to shopping but sometimes it takes a bored, back-seat kid to point out what you clearly missed.  But I missed it for good reason: who knew I’d have to read the label on my drinking water?!?  Here is a photo of the label from Kirkland drinking water.  I’m baffled that the ingredient list doesn’t end with “purified water”.

We Are All Indigenous

Since I put out the call for “Caucasian Males above the age of 21” to stand up for their states of Union and assert “unimpeachable” claims on the land, I have had no end of ignorant people calling me up in a white hot lather about that, with all sorts of ugly assumptions in hand.

Just remember that the first part of “assumption” is “ass”.

Obviously, I am a woman, so I have no reason to like the idea that “only” males can do this. And also, obviously, I am color blind, so I have no reason to like the idea of “white only” as well.

The fact is that the treaties and agreements that need to be exercised to claim the land mass of this country were all written back in the 1700-1800s and the only people who had legal standing back…

The second year my former Bird of Paradise Gigantis bloomed … this was my office plant in my Downtown San Francisco office years ago. She’s in the care of my oldest student and dear friend, Trish Lee. Here’s her blog about this amazing plant. Enjoy! It is truly magnificent.

I just had to share – this white bird of paradise gigantis was gifted to me from our dear friend Victoria at The Halau nearly a decade ago.  For a while it was a very manageable sized plant that lived out front in a pot.  Then, deciding it needed more room to grow, I put it in the ground.  It grew by leaps and bounds and even became a great stabilizing plant for my grape vine (maybe that’ll produce grapes someday).  But after many years in the ground, and its height reaching nearly two stories now, I just wasn’t sure if it would ever bloom.  Recently, due to HOA landscaping guidelines, I needed to give it a good trimming back, which included removal of a lot of the little baby plants around the shallow root system.  I knew the plant was in a little shock but was doing just fine.

Our Native prophecies tell us that we came to this earth plane to have an experience as an “Animal” & to experience “Separation” from the ONENESS of Creation. Humanity has lived under the “Laws of the Jungle” where is has been everyone for themselves & survival of the fittest. The birth of the “White Buffalo Calf” was symbolic that this WHEEL OF LIFE for humanity had been completed; for 2 DNA bloodlines had been merged. Our ancestors knew that the “Mysteries of the Universe” were not to be CHALLENGED, but rather understood. For our teachings tell us of 2 kingdoms and how in the end times we will become the ONE tribe of Humanity. The RAINBOW TRIBE; a tribe of many colors. Our prophecies…

Making Solomonic Herbal Holy Water (with Pics!)

Greetings Conjurors!

I have just updated my page on how to make Herbal Holy Waters specific to the Planetary forces.  And, along with that, I thought you might like to see some photos from my most recent efforts to make some.  🙂  These were taken during the last waxing moon, on the days/hours of Luna and Jupiter respectively.

The following two pictures show the plants I gathered for the process.  On Monday I gathered nine plants sacred to the Moon:  Jasmine, Honeysuckle, Water Lily (inc. Lotus), Juniper, Geranium (Citronella), Willow (Bottle-brush), Spearmint, Aloe, and a couple of other Succulents:

Herbal Holy Water Luna 1 Nine plants sacred to Luna.

On Thursday I gathered four plants sacred to Jupiter:  Cedar, Pine, Bay Laurel, and Honeysuckle:

In each case, my wife and I went out to find these plants in our own hometown.  This ensures they are fresh and intimately connected with…

24 Things Women Over 30 Should Wear

This morning, as I was perusing through my Facebook timeline, I happened upon an article that a lovely friend shared. It was entitled “24 Things Women Should Stop Wearing After Age 30”, and it triggered Maximum Eye-Rolling from everyone who took the time out to read it.

Written by Kallie Provencher for RantChic.com, this “article” (I use the term loosely) highlighted things such as “leopard print”, “graphic tees”, and “short dresses” (because “By this age, women should know it’s always better to leave something to the imagination”). Kallie, it seems, has a number of opinions on what women over 30 should and shouldn’t be doing, having also penned “30 Things Women Over 30 Shouldn’t Own” and “20 Pictures Women Over 30 Need To Stop Posting Online”. (What is this magical post-30 land where women are suddenly not allowed to do or own so many things?!)

Motivated by Kallie’s “article”, I decided…

Reiki — Proficiency In What You Know

One thing that most energyworkers fail to grasp the significance of is the importance of understanding (not just knowing) Human Anatomy and Physiology. Early in our training, our students get a healthy dose of this focus in class because … how do you know how to direct your Mana if you cannot visualize where you’re targeting? This is the key to assisting another to heal: an intimate understanding of what makes the human body tick. The ability to utilize this Understanding is also one of the hallmarks between a fly-by-night practitioner and a true professional Healer.

You see … to be truly competent, you must go beyond herbs, oils and crystals. You must study the body’s systems and DNA and the role of bioenergetics.

Here’s an image of a human cell … knowing how each component within the cell works (its systems) is called cell cytology. This is one to begin a new section of study in your notebooks.

Sitting here in Bliss, I am feeling how great it is to Literally know Nothing.  How joyous it is, to be free from the endless stories, free from the need to know anything, free from fears, free from anything, that is not the Glorious Presence of my Divine Being, now.

You too, can live consciously as your Divine Self.

Living in the Present Moment is the Freedom, that Lives as Joy and Bliss. EVERYTHING is magical, in the moment, when you live as your Divine self (consciously) when you live, as the Eternal You, in form.

Being Childlike, is Being present in the moment.

Life is Very Exciting, relaxed and PEACEFUL when experienced as the openness of the joyful Presence of the Moment. It is Rich, it is fulfilling. Breathe this deeply, now.  Feel this deeply, now.

In the Present Moment, there is freedom from the expectations of anything, which includes…
