New Moon November 2014

Grandtrines's avatarGrandtrines

Here is the New Moon chart for November 2014.  At 0 degrees Sagittarius, this NM makes a statement (and it precedes the even stronger statement by the Capricorn NM at the Winter’s Solstice this year).  Here is the basic chart:

We will leave the discussion of the significance of the NM at 0 degrees Sadge to others and focus on the patterns of aspects instead.

First, if one includes the asteroid Hygeia (health, healing, and healthcare) and the North Node (not a planet but an indicator of “karma” or “work to be done”), the continuing Uranus/Pluto square forms a grand cross (as discussed in an earlier post).  We will not duplicate that post here but instead note that a great deal of “tension” to “get things done” will be felt at this time by many.  Key issues will include unexpected events (Uranus) or hopefully insights regarding…

Moon in Cancer in November of 2014: T-Squares and Grand Trines

Grandtrines's avatarGrandtrines

The Moon in Cancer in November of 2014 creates a series of interesting (and contradictory!) patterns.  On one hand, Moon will join with Uranus and Pluto (in the well known and often discussed Uranus/Pluto square pattern) to form a T-Square.  On the other hand, the Moon will join with Mars and Neptune to form a Grand Trine (Grand Water Trine).  The first causes conflict and energizes people to “take action” while the second tends to be gentler and more relaxed (and sometimes an opportunity to make a quite a bit of money).

We we examine the T-Square:

Moments of greatest tension occur when (1) Moon opposes Pluto, (2) Moon squares Uranus, and (3) Moon conjoins Hygeia (an asteroid governing health and health issues).  If one counts the node (a point and not an actual body), then one might argue this is an (ongoing) grand cross.

Ordinarily, we…

Are you tired of the daily grind? Do you wonder what it would feel like to be your own boss, set your own schedule, and be in complete control of your future?

If so – you’re not alone.

Job dissatisfaction is a common issue these days. Just last year a report published by The Conference Board stated that more than half of all Americans report dissatisfaction with their jobs. With a challenging job market, more and more people stay stuck in careers that leave them feeling drained and unhappy, rather than pursuing a new life that nourishes them.

It’s ok to want change and to look for a better life.

For me, once I dared to dream that I could have a different life – In 1999, under the light of a Yule Super Moon, I launched my own Reiki practice and healing school. I soon had paying clients and students supplementing my income as an attorney … and, little by little I gained the confidence to fully transition away from my soul-crushing day job in the Law.

But how do you know it’s the right time to change?

Here are three little questions to consider that can make a huge impact …

1. How will you feel in five years if you’re still doing exactly what you’re doing now?
2. If you could paint a picture of a healthier, happier you – what would that look like?
3. What are three things you can do right now to get you closer to that new you?

Change begins with choice.

If you feel inspired or excited by that vision of a new future – I encourage you to get support, ask questions, and allow yourself to make an educated and informed decision that’s right for you.

Me ke aloha pumahana oukou … Lana

Full Moon November 2014

Here is the basic chart for the Full Moon of November 2014:

Full Moon November 2014 (Beginners)

We see some indication that we may be entering a period of austerity (or a cold winter?) as Venus is between the Sun and Saturn (all in Scorpio) with Mars applying to conjoin Saturn (both in Capricorn).  Saturn and Pluto continue in mutual reception, as has been true since 2012.  Will be interesting to see what the financial markets do.  We note that Mars and Vesta are semi-octile, and that might be the most important aspect during this full moon.  (More discussion on this below after the Modulus Sort Strips.)  We also note a Huber triangle involving Sun / Moon / Chiron (as shown in the next version of the chart).

Similarly important, Astraea (at 29 Pisces) is semi-square the Moon and Sesquisquare the Sun (in a pattern we have not…

Astrological Charts for Virgin Galactic crash Halloween 2014

Grandtrines's avatarGrandtrines

In keeping with our production of charts for catastrophes happening in late October of 2014, here are the charts for the Virgin Galactic crash of Halloween 2014.  The crash happened near the Mojave Air and Space Port near Mojave CA.

Virgin Galactic Takeoff (Beginners) 2014-10-31

We note that this chart most closely resembles the Wichita KS plane crash yesterday and the rectified chart for the Marysville school shootings.  (This chart more closely resembles those than it does the Orbital Sciences rocket explosion.)  The horary version of the chart contains Sun Opposite Part of Catastrophe, as did the Wichita KS plane crash.

“Don’t Go Back to Sleep,” by Elizabeth Lesser

The Way HomeTo be human is to be lost in the woods. None of us arrives here with clear directions on how to get from point A to point B without stumbling into the forest of confusion or catastrophe or wrongdoing. Although they are dark and dangerous, it is in the woods that we discover our strengths. We all know people who say their cancer or divorce or bankruptcy was the greatest gift of a lifetime—that until the body, or the heart, or the bank was broken, they didn’t know who they were, what they felt, or what they wanted. Before their descent into the darkness, they took more than they gave, or they were numb, or full of fear or blame or self-pity. In their most broken moments they were brought to their knees; they were humbled; they were opened. And later, as they pulled the pieces back together, they discovered a clearer sense of purpose and a new passion for life. But we also know people who did not turn their misfortune into insight, or their grief into joy. Instead, they became more bitter, more reactive, more cynical. They shut down. They went back to sleep.

The Persian poet Rumi says, “The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill, where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.”

I am fascinated by what it takes to stay awake in difficult times. I marvel at what we all do in times of transition — how we resist, and how we surrender; how we stay stuck, and how we grow. Since my first major broken-open experience — my divorce — I have been an observer and a confidante of others as they engage with the forces of their own suffering. I have made note of how fiasco and failure visit each one of us, as if they were written into the job description of being human. I have seen people crumble in times of trouble, lose their spirit, and never fully recover. I have seen others protect themselves fiercely from any kind of change, until they are living a half life, safe yet stunted.

But I have also seen another way to deal with a fearful change or a painful loss. I call this other way the Phoenix Process — named for the mythical phoenix bird who remains awake through the fires of change, rises from the ashes of death, and is reborn into his most vibrant and enlightened self.

I’ve tried both ways: I have gone back to sleep in order to resist the forces of change. And I have stayed awake and been broken open. Both ways are difficult, but one way brings with it the gift of a lifetime. If we can stay awake when our lives are changing, secrets will be revealed to us—secrets about ourselves, about the nature of life, and about the eternal source of happiness and peace that is always available, always renewable, already within us.

Questions to ponder after reading this piece:

What does it mean to stay awake and be broken open?
Can you share a personal story of a time you were broken open and felt reborn?
How do you practice staying awake when your life is changing immensely?

HA’AWINA NA UHANE ALOHA ~ E Homai (Return Me, Grant Me)

SuperegoA HUGE activator of Mana and an invocation to connect back to all wisdom inside you, above and around you; to all that became hidden behind human concerns. An intentional return to your own spiritual source.

E homai
Ka ike mai luna mai e
Ona mea huna no’eau
Ona mele e
E homai
E homai
E homai

RAISING MANA ~ Connecting To The Source ~ E HOMAI

This is a chant of connection:
• To all the wisdom inside you,
• To the wisdom above and around you,
• To all that has become “hidden” behind everyday human level concerns.

This chant is an intentional return to your own spiritual source. It was written by Auntie Edith Kanaka’ole of Hui Ho’ola on Moku o Keawe, the “Big Island” of Hawai’i.  This is a very popular personal chant performed by many hula halau.  The English translation and a tiny bit of kaona (hidden, metaphoric meaning) follows:

(Hawai’ian to English Translation)

E — Respectfully, with greatest regard, asking for and granted the right to be heard.

Homai — Return, grant me, activate the unbroken universal energetic flow.

Ka ‘ike mai — The skills, knowledge, the knowing, seeing, the understanding … return.

Luna mai e — from above (the higher, super-consciousness, perspective) … return.

O na mea huna — Of the things hidden (the tiny, seemingly insignificant grains of sand on the seashore, the things lost
amongst the melieu of other everyday concerns)

No’eau — Wisdom, inspiration, talents, skills (hidden treasures, wisdom)

O na mele — Of the songs (the joys in Life, those things that make
the heart sing)

E — (a closure, having been heard by Na Kupuna,
acknowledgment that the “lei” of regard is closed.)

E homai — Return me, grant me (also means, “I am returned,” “It is granted me”).

Additional Notes:

This is one of the best chants ever created for reconnecting you with your spirit source. Chanting this particular chant will put you in ‘da canoe every time! No be ha’ale (shy) now – belt it out – chant it until it is part of your cell structure. “Owning” this chant will heal you in the physical sense, all the way to your DNA … I no kid you, eh!  And seriously, the Aunties on the Big Island have plenty of medical documentation that shows that chanting this chant makes cellular changes within the chanter!

E homai!
