Pregnant or nursing and told you should give up the spicy foods you love? New evidence supports the contrary. “The variety of flavors that you eat during pregnancy go into your blood and then into the amniotic fluid, which the baby is constantly drinking, in utero, and the flavors that you eat while nursing cross from the blood vessels that supply the mammary glands into the breast milk. So instead of restricting the maternal diet, there’s now good evidence that by eating a wide variety of healthy and tasty foods during these periods, we are actually doing our babies a major favor.”

Children who were nursed as babies may accept more foods later because they’ve experienced a variety of flavors from the start.

Rhetoric 101 – Ad Hominem

There is a LOT of this type of sniping going on FB … and for a while now, as the energies work on people who “think” with their mouths. Bottom line:  Don’t buy into the hype, no matter how ugly the language spewed at you.  It’s best to ignore misnomers, and if they happen to be people, all the better.

Ad hominem: Attacking your opponent’s character or personal traits instead of engaging with their argument. Ad hominem attacks can take the form of overtly attacking somebody, or more subtly casting doubt on their character. The result of an ad hom attack can be to undermine someone without actually having to engage with their argument.

Kayli Kaʻiulani Carr is your 2016 Miss Aloha Hula. The 25-year-old dominated at the first night of the 53rd Merrie Monarch Festival where 12 female soloists representing their hālau (hula schools) competed for this year’s title. Individuals perform in both hula kahiko (traditional) and hula ʻauana (modern) where Carr finished with a total score of 1,134 points — just 11 more points than the runner-up from Kauaʻi, Brylyn Noelani Aiwohi of Hālau Ka Lei Mokihana of Leinaʻala.

Something is about to collapse.  Pressure is causing an imbalance that needs correction.  But, if the dam is about to burst, moving out of the way is the first priority!  It is a time for quick, instinctive action and nimble footwork.  When the roof is collapsing, run first … choose your destination later.  Extraordinary times bring out the best and worst in people.  Natural disasters produce stories of heroism, but also of looting and rioting.  When such a great weight is on the world, powerful moments present opportunities to make great gains because everything is in a state of flux.  The choice is positive change, or stagnation.  Take a moment to reflect on the heart of the matter, to the cause, to assure action achieving a smooth transition towards positive change.  Does this sound like the time is right for you to act?  Like the parting of the Red/Reed Sea, the Universal Chi is giving you the “in” to take action now to ensure opportunities for eventual success later.  The time is ripe to extend yourself and your capabilities fully by diving into the crisis with complete abandon.  Dare to win.
