This lower cauldron in the lower belly is directly connected with the pituitary/hypothalamus/adrenal glands through the Vagus Nerve – this is the reason we ‘cook’ below and bridge the connection above – this is the idea of bridging HEAVEN AND EARTH – because when enough energy has been collected below, IT SOARS UPWARD to open this nerve and make the bridge. This was a blessing he received from his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The name Ganesh is derived because he is the chief (eesha) of all the servers (ganas) of Lord Shiva.
