The number Nine is associated with The Hermit, which often signifies completion mostly in a material sense.  Nines represent a time for looking back over what one has done and feeling secure enough in one’s achievements that one is able to dedicate resources to others.  It is also a time to integrate one’s achievements into the complete vision of one’s life.  So the energies concur for you today:  solitude is your friend.  Make sure you get plenty of alone time.  Get to know yourself.  What you learn will help you in more ways than you know.  When the Hermit appears reversed, you are being asked to look carefully at the role of solitude in your life.  If you’ve been feeling irritable, depressed or moody lately, you may want to take some time alone.  Don’t take it personally if a loved one is pushing you away at this time; we all need time for ourselves occasionally.  It could be that though you are around other people, you are keeping your thoughts and feelings private for now.  Alternatively, The Hermit may show up reversed when you have been avoiding other people in order to avoid dealing with some situation, or when antisocial has become a dysfunctional habit for you.  It may be time to consider getting out there and connecting with others.

Here you are, the Wind in your hair: like pure-hearted Galahad, charging ahead at full speed as if you’re righteously scattering your enemies swift and sure. You know what you want today and have the determination to get it. However, you ought to slow down and think your plan through. Your mind is being influenced by intelligent though reactive Gemini, whose energies are also associated with this Knight as a double-edged sword. Though planning may seem boring to you right now, it could ultimately save you a lot of trouble in the long run. If you rush ahead, without considering the details, you are likely to say or do something that you’ll regret later.

Again, the Number Three and the influence of yesterday’s Empress card energies continues to figure prominently in our affairs today.  Swirling about us are the influences of Earth, Mars and Capricorn.  A synthesis coming together to become more than the sum of their parts.  The apprentice or amateur has received his/her reward and is now at work in earnest.  A project is beginning to manifest.  People are coming together to make something happen.  The foundation is being poured for the new house.  Progress is being made on the first draft of that big essay.  You are beginning the apprenticeship that will lead to mastery of your profession.  You are using what you have learned to turn a profit.  The intentions you have sent to the Universe are beginning to come to fruition.  It is important when this card appears that you are mindful that this is an early stage of progress and you still have much to learn. Watch how others work and listen to criticism so that you can continue to grow.  This is the time to assess your project and see if it is line with your larger goals.  If it is, persevere.  If not, spend some time choosing the right activities and partnerships to lead you toward your long-term goals.

The Number Three is associated with The Empress card.  Three represents synthesis — two coming together to become more than the sum of their parts.  Three is the number of trinity of body, mind and spirit; heaven, earth and water; past, present and future.  The number three signifies love, vital force, creative success and positive energy.  This card is all about getting in touch with your “feminine” side. This isn’t related to gender — it’s more about the qualities that are traditionally associated with anima-type energies.  They’re more sensitive, intuitive, reflective and passive. They’re introspective and creative as opposed to extroverted and dynamic. But they are just as powerful and can enrich your life in ways you never dreamed possible.  Keep in mind that the Empress can be so giving and caring that she winds up neglecting her own needs. You want to remember your own strength and power as you navigate your relationships with others.  There is a rich inner world that each of us — male or female — possess, yet few of us take the time to fully explore. It’s a lush, fertile garden where primitive instincts and natural desires reside. This card may describe a person in your life — a mother, sister, role model or friend — and if so, know that she’s here to teach you something. The Empress knows that any “garden” can flourish when it’s tended to with love.  You may be exploring your own feminine instincts this week, or you may be taking a more supportive role in your personal relationships. You might also be exploring a different kind of fertility: such as giving birth to a creative project or a body of work.  Whatever role you’re taking on this week — whether you’re caring for another or tapping into your feminine side in other ways — know that it’s going to be less about the mark you make on the outer world and more about tending to the world you’re creating within.

The Moon is a card of darkness (not knowing about things), illusion (things hidden) and the unconscious.  Now is time to pay attention to your intuition and dreams.  What do your deepest feelings tell you about your current situation?  What are you most afraid of right now?  Sometimes the most profound growth is found in facing our deepest fears.  You may be hiding something from others or yourself.  Someone may also be hiding something from you, contributing to the confusion and fear you’re feeling.  The Moon advises us to go within to seek better understanding before taking action.  It may be wise to keep some things hidden for now.  The Moon also represents the present (waxing) Moon itself, the Equinox and the effects of the Grand  Cross, as well as the changes brought by Spring.
