aaaa This is a view from a row of kitchen windows. These will be trimmed and evened out. I let them grow wild since the storm. River rock will go back underneath it. 

Finally there is a slight warm up in the air. Its faint, but its there. I managed to get outside the other day and start cleaning up some winter mulch from the front garden. It was only 0 Celsius (32 Fahrenheit) with no wind and mostly sunny.  There were still some patches of ice here and there but I got all the tall grasses cut down as well and pulled out yet another small cedar shrub that has died.

A few years ago we had a ice storm and it left us without power for 5 days in late December. That storm did a lot of damage to our home along with our garden, although we got away…
