Nā Kūkikūki || The Story of Kea’omelemele

In the story of Kea’omelemele, told by Moses Manu in 1885, Kalau’okōlea, the younger sister of Poliʻahu played a tune on a puʻa (gourd whistle) while Kulukuluokahiki was staying at the house of Poliʻahu on Mauna Kea. The night-time trilling enchants and delights Kulukuluokahiki and his party, and culminates in love-making. Kulukuluokahiki with Poliʻahu, and his men with the sisters Lilinoe and Kalauokōlea. In the chill of the frosty borderlands of Poliʻahu, the tune of the puʻa/hōkiokio warms the bosom and foreshadows the shared warmth to come.

But what is also remarkable to me is the mention in the mele of no less than four kinds of singing land snails, indicating how important these are in Hawaiian cultural foundations:

Moe ana ʻoe la hoʻolono iki mai
E piʻi kāua i ka hua lamalama
I ka lau ʻākōlea i ke kapa kāhuli
Kāhuli aku, kāhuli mai
Kāhuli lei ʻula lei ʻākōlea
Kolekolea, kolekolea
Pūpū kani oe maiau kēlā
Pololei leo leʻa kapa hau o uka
Mehana i kuʻu poli
Hiʻolani kēlā kolekolea

Lie there, and listen a while
as we two climb by kukui torchlight
Among the fronds of ʻākōlea ferns, the garment of snails
Land snails transforming, changing back and forth
Changing from a red lei into a lei of ʻākōlea ferns
Kolekolea land snail, singing in a whistling voice
Such a skillful, exquisite singing snail
Pololei snail singing joyfully at the edge of the upland snows
Warming my bosom
as I lie at ease amidst that chorus of snails singing.

Additional note: kolekolea is the singing of the land shell, also considered another name for the kahuli.

Pololei is another snail name, often followed by the epithet kani kuamauna. Kuamauna, which is a zone close to the summit of a mountain, suggests that the pololei is a high elevation snail, of the high montane or subalpine region, in this case, just below snow line on Mauna Kea!

The 2012 shift in consciousness took us ever deeper into the Sun within our own hearts and the Cosmic Heart of all Creation. And as all Life moved up an octave, our sacred Earth became the new etheric Sun for this Solar System and we moved in Solar Christ Consciousness through the Overlighting of Helios and Vesta, our Solar Logii and God Parents for this Solar System. With the realization that we are Christ Conscious Beings of Light leading the way in the co-creation of Heaven on Earth, we draw upon the new Earth Template Light frequencies, rays of Creation, fire letters, numerologies, and fractal and sacred geometries spiraling forth from the Sun, the Central Sun and the Great Central Sun into the Unity Grid of Divine Love, taking us ever deeper into the full remembrance of our glorious nature as these sacred transfiguring Flames of Divine Love.

Comfortably relaxed now, breathing deep into the body and grounding into the Crystal Heart of Mother Earth, we now experience the Crystalline Sun DNA Template Activation.

I align into the inner Earth Sun, the Sun within my heart, the Sun, the Central Sun and now the Great Central Sun.

I call upon the Overlighted of Mother/Father God and all the Beings of Light from On High that I personally acknowledge as I now merge with my Beloved I Am Presence.

I now request the activation of my Crystalline Sun DNA Templates through the energy of the 12 rays of Creation, chakra and Light Body activations, axiatonal lines, and the appropriate geometries, fire letters, key codes and numerologies as I am placed in a Crystalline Sun DNA Activation Chamber of Light.

I request the activation of my first strand DNA through the anchoring and activation of the seventh ray of Ceremonial Magic in a beautiful violet color within and around my body as I now focus on the breaking down of old structures, paving the way for this new Golden Age of Light.

I request the activation of the 12 fire letters within the first strand DNA. As these scalar wave programs, these standing wave patterns composed of quantities of conscious energy activates, the sub-atomic particles within my body spin in increased Light frequencies through the Crystalline Matrix of Solar Christ Consciousness.

I request the anchoring and activating of the appropriate chakras, geometries, key codes and numerologies. I request the activation of the first of the 12 major axiatonal lines through the appropriate meridians and spin points, linking me into the New Earth Templates and the Unity Grid of Divine Love.

I now call forth the Cosmic Fires of Helios and Vesta to activate my physical body as a Temple of Light, taking these sacred pink-gold and copper-gold flames into each organ, body part and now sub-atomic particle of my Beingness.

I now request the activation of my second strand DNA through the anchoring and activation of the sixth ray of Devotion and Idealism in a beautiful indigo color through and around my body as I focus on devotion and my connection to Mother/Father God and the Legions of Light from On High.

I request the activation of the 12 fire letters within the second strand DNA as the sub-atomic particles now spin in increased light frequencies through the crystalline matrix of Solar Christ Consciousness.

I request the anchoring and activating of the appropriate chakras, geometries, key codes and numerologies.

I request the activation of the second of the 12 major axiatonal lines through the appropriate meridians and spin points, linking me into the New Earth Templates and the Unity Grid of Divine Love.

I now call forth the Cosmic Fires of Helios and Vesta to activate my astral body as my Divine Ka Body of Light, the holographic body of my physical body, taking these sacred pink-gold and copper-gold flames into my Divine Ka Body of Light.

What should you do during your Samhain ritual? Here are a few ideas taken from the most popular Samhain and Halloween traditions.

Hold a dumb supper. On Samhain’s evening, place pictures of the deceased on the dinner table. Light some candles. Eat your meal in silence to honour those who died in the past year. Open up your psychic sense to see if the dead have joined you. More info here.
Make an offering to the dead. Before you eat, set aside a portion of the meal for the dead. It doesn’t have to be only the deceased of the year: it can be your family ancestors, or any other spirit. When you are done eating, place the dish on your altar next to the pictures representing them. Say a few words to honour them. When the ritual is over, leave the offering on your porch overnight.
Make a shamanic journey. Samhain is the perfect time of the year to travel between the worlds, since the veil is thinner (I don’t know how many times I wrote that already!). On Samhain evening, cast a sacred circle of power like you usually do. Then, get into a state of transe (you can listen to a drumming track like this one). When you’re ready, imagine that you are going down through a rabbit hole. Then, let the images flow. Learn more about shamanic journeying here.
Carve a pentagram into a pumpkin for protection. I found this amazing tutorial if you’re interested. When you’re done, charge your pumpkins with energy. Ask the God and Goddess of Samhain to activate your spell. Then, place your pumpkin on your porch to protect your home.
Bob for apples. You remember the kid’s game we talked about? To turn it into a divination game, carve a rune into each apple. Ask a question out loud before your start. The apple that you pick will give you the answer.

Of course, those are only a few suggestions. Since Samhain has a very rich history, the possibilities are endless! You could even invent your own Samhain tradition. The important part is to make it work for you!

Then I will blow your crown to clean the old memories that make you repeat the same behavior.
I will blow your forehead to scare away the thoughts that cloud your vision.
I will blow your throat to release the knot that won’t let you talk.
I will blow your heart to scare fear, so that it goes far away where it cannot find you.
I will blow your solar plexus to extinguish the fire of the hell you carry inside, and you will know peace.
I will blow with fire your belly to burn the attachments, and the love that was not.
I will blow away the lovers that left you, the children that never came.
I will blow your heart to make you warm, to rekindle your desire to feel, create and start again.
I will blow with force your vagina or your penis, to clean the sexual door to your soul.

I will use the broom, and the sponge, and the rag, and safely clean all the bitterness inside you.
I will blow your hands to destroy the ties that prevent you from creating.
I will blow your feet to dust and erase the footprints memories, so you can never return to that bad place.
I will turn your body, so your face will kiss the earth.
I’ll blow your spine from the root to the neck to increase your strength and help you walk upright.
And I will let you rest.

After this you will cry, and after crying you will sleep,
And you will dream beautiful and meaningful dreams,
and when you wake up I’ll be waiting for you.
I will smile at you, and you will smile back
I will offer you food that you will eat with pleasure, tasting life, and I will thank you.
Because what I’m offering today, was offered to me before when darkness lived within me.
And after I was healed, I felt the darkness leaving, and I cried.

Then we will walk together, and I will show you my garden, and my plants, and I will take you to the fire again.
And will talk together in a single voice with the blessing of the earth.
And we will shout to the forest the desires of your heart.
And the fire will listen and whisper the echo, and we will create hope together.
And the mountains will listen and whisper the echo, and we will create hope together.
