The Number 6 is associated with this card … Six is a number of harmony and balance, love and happiness, service and social responsibility.  Six represents initial success and a chance to take a break, and is also a sign of the work that remains to be done.  Six represents compassion and generosity and taking care of everyday needs.  Six is the number of the Third Eye Chakra, which relates to perception and intuition.  The Devil is analogous to indulgence and material pleasure.  When this card appears, there is something you do that feels good, but is not good for your health or well-being.  You know you shouldn’t have another glass of wine, charge those shoes to your credit card, or fall into bed with that troublesome lover, but you do it anyway.  You may be ignoring your higher self and be disconnected from spirit.  In some way, you are deceiving yourself.  Sometimes, the Devil shows up when a little fun is exactly what you need.  Sometimes we need to let go, break our own rules and forget about the consequences until tomorrow.

Today is a great day for creative play and for spending time with people you love.  You have a lot of love and passion flowing through you, find ways to share it.  It’s not a great day for big decisions however; the dreamy energy surrounding you today could make something seem better than it actually is.  When the Knight of Cups is reversed, the flow of emotions is excessive or blocked.  You may be overly sensitive, letting your emotions get in the way of mental clarity or getting things done.  You may be following your heart from place to place or person to person,without allowing time to develop your interests or relationships.  You or someone you know may be using fantasy or substances to escape reality in a dysfunctional way.  Emotions could be being used as a weapon, such as when someone vows love just to get into another’s bed.  Alternatively, the Knight of Cups may appear reversed when emotions are failing to flow.  You may be hiding your feelings or unable to know your heart’s desire.  This could also be a card indicating creative blocks, such as not being happy with any of the artwork you’ve done lately, or being unable to come up with a good idea for your next work.  In this case, a break may be helpful.

The number Nine is associated with The Hermit, which often signifies completion mostly in a material sense.  Nines represent a time for looking back over what one has done and feeling secure enough in one’s achievements that one is able to dedicate resources to others.  It is also a time to integrate one’s achievements into the complete vision of one’s life.  So the energies concur for you today:  solitude is your friend.  Make sure you get plenty of alone time.  Get to know yourself.  What you learn will help you in more ways than you know.  When the Hermit appears reversed, you are being asked to look carefully at the role of solitude in your life.  If you’ve been feeling irritable, depressed or moody lately, you may want to take some time alone.  Don’t take it personally if a loved one is pushing you away at this time; we all need time for ourselves occasionally.  It could be that though you are around other people, you are keeping your thoughts and feelings private for now.  Alternatively, The Hermit may show up reversed when you have been avoiding other people in order to avoid dealing with some situation, or when antisocial has become a dysfunctional habit for you.  It may be time to consider getting out there and connecting with others.
