Aloha Ke 'Ākua! Māhālo nūi lōa for visiting Nā Hālau ʻĀha Hūi Lanakila!
We established our Sanctuary for the exploration and awakening of consciousness, the unfolding of our collective creative and healing potential and realisation of our essential Unity.
Our teachings arise out of direct experience of awakened awareness and emanates the untamable fragrance of freedom whilst radically embracing the mystery and mess of human existence. Our invitation is for you to open to the fullness of life, to say YES to the totality of your experience and to meet reality with radical compassion. Our doors are an open invitation to all who seek authentic freedom and are willing to meet heart to heart in honest and open inquiry.
We were taught that the goal of life is to move through life walking up the mountain of experiences with your Aloha, your Bowl of Light. Life is filled with lessons to learn and teaching moments along the way. When you become angry or jealous, you drop those stones into your bowl of light and those rocks cause leaks in your Mana-sacred power. When your bowl becomes filled with stones, you become a stone that cannot grow. No Aloha! The solution is that at any moment, you can turn your bowl upside down emptying these stones out of your bowl to naturally refill it with YOUR golden light -- your natural Aware and Awakened state of Aloha, your natural state of Divinity. This is the power of Pure Aloha: an Awakened Heart Awakens the Mind.
Awakening hinges on your genuine desire for the discovery of your true nature. If it is to flower in you, you must truly want liberation from everything that is false in you, you must want to give yourself totally to the inquiry into what is true beyond all inherited concepts, ideas and beliefs.
The purpose of our teachings is to ignite this wanting in you. When the flame of this desire becomes an untamable fire, it flips a switch inside of you and the direction of your destiny is irrevocably altered. It’s like turning on the light only to discover that you are this light. This in itself is extra-ordinary: even though you may have heard the words a thousand times, nothing can prepare you for the naked reality that is revealed.
And yet the living experience of this revelation is very ordinary: you have simply re-discovered the innocent wholeness of your essential nature. It’s the you that never was and never will be separate from anything at all. This discovery is the end of suffering and the beginning of freedom.
But awakening is just the beginning. The adventure begins, not in the rarified atmosphere of transcendence, but in the midst of the chaos of life. And living the truth of awakening has perhaps never been more of an imperative than in today’s rapidly changing world.
The invitation is for you to awaken to the pristine perfection of your inner light and then to fully embody and express this light amidst the mystery and mess of human existence.

*While there are many crystals that can boost energy and bring feelings of stamina, motivation, and alertness, these are some of my favourite go-tos for that purpose. I find that crystals that are orange and yellow are good choices for bringing a boost of energy, as they stimulate the sacral and solar plexus. Red crystals bring stamina as well, and they are good for grounding and strength, but I find more of an energy-stimulating effect from the orange and yellow crystals (crystals can affect everyone differently though). I may add more to this list later, but for now I think it is a good start. Realize also that crystals are not a substitute for medical or psychological advice or therapies, they are simply complementary (but realize also that there is no scientific evidence for their effectiveness).*

According to Ayurveda, it is incredibly important to taste our foods, our herbs – our lives. Rasa, the Sanskrit word for taste, has a number of potent meanings, among them: experience, enthusiasm, juice, plasma (as in rasa dhatu), and essence. These diverse meanings only hint at the significance of taste within the Ayurveda tradition. Rasa is, in a very real way, the essence of life and quite literally affects every aspect of our being – from structure and physiology, straight through to our overall state of mind and consciousness. Why can’t everyone just get along? There is this feeling of people not wanting to play right…this is more on a global, political level, but, as with everything, this tension can certainly have a trickle-down effect. There are planetary aspects in play this weekend which can stir up conflict on many levels, but the question is whether or not it is worth engaging.
To say the least, this will be an interesting Mercury Retrograde, presenting struggles of its own as we go along and retrace our steps. Know that you do not need to best anyone, you are not in competition with anyone, and you do not need to attend every argument to which you are invited. Any personal conflicts which you may be experiencing will work themselves out in the coming days, so don’t let whatever is happening around you ruffle your feathers and cause your blood pressure to…

Welcome precious hearts, this is Anrita Melchizedek, and what I would like to offer you at this time of moving into the Equinox energies, is this really beautiful transmission that you can step into, called the Ignition of the Grail Codes of the Sacred Rose of Christ Consciousness. With the Flame of Divine Love now activated within the hearts of all awakened Souls upon this sacred earth, we are able to deepen into the embrace and love and appreciation of ourselves and others upon this sacred earth. With this, we step into a new flow and balance within our daily lives we Ignite the Grail Codes of the Sacred Rose of Christ Consciousness within our Christed Hearts, and draw to us the Overlighting of the Divine Feminine deities of Creation.
In this transmission, we are invited into Mother Mary’s Temple of the Immaculate Heart to deepen our journey along the Path of the Rose, the Path of Divine Love, through the Divine Feminine. As we activate the Grail Codes of the Sacred Rose of Christ Consciousness we merge with the goddess archetypes through the Overlighting of the Sisterhood of the Rose. Mother Mary steps forward with the archetypal energy of the Mother Queen, activating the Red Rose of Love and Beauty and Passion within our Christed Hearts. Lady Isis steps forward with the archetypal energy of the High Priestess activating the Pink Rose of Appreciation and Gratitude within our Christed Hearts. Mary Magdalene steps forward with the archetypal energy of the Wise Woman activating the White Rose of Purity and Innocence within our Christed Hearts. Lastly, Lady Venus steps forward with the archetypal energy of the Lover activating this beautiful Orange Rose of Desire and Enthusiasm within our Christed Hearts.
As we purify our lower mind and lower bodies as these open hearts and sacred Flames of Divinity, we release the vestiges of any perceived levels of separation or blame, unforgiveness or judgment within our hearts, embracing the Pathway of Divine Love, the Path of the Rose. Through a series of Light transmissions, we experience a renewed balance between our Divine Masculine and Feminine spirits, embracing and integrating all aspects of ourselves within our Christed Hearts, within the Sacred Rose of Christ Consciousness.
Can we just call this a day of rest? What a perfect weekend card. A time out, taking a break, a short respite. Regroup, recharge, and recover…three very appropriate words for Mercury retrograde.
What is important to remember, when you see the 4 of Swords appear, is that the issues hanging over you will still be there later. So go ahead and take a break!
See you here tomorrow!

Good is restraint in the body; good is restraint in speech;
good is restraint in thought. Restraint everywhere is good.
The monk restrained in every way
is freed from all suffering.
Dhammapada 25.361
The Dhammapada: The Buddha’s Path of Wisdom, translated from Pāli by Acharya Buddharakkhita
If there has been a prevalent theme in the world, in fact, in life itself, in the last month, or so, it would be generations. You do not need to look very far to see both the differences, and the commonalities, between them. We are living in a time which is earmarked by great changes. They are trying to happen, both personally, and globally.
It is always wise to use the wisdom gleaned from past experiences to forge a path for the future. As we see generations coming together, to discuss which path should be taken, let us all pray for a wise one which ensures the security of generations to come. The 10 of Pentacles is a card of wealth and security, but also of generations, so let the generations work together to bring the continuance of prosperity for future generations which do not yet exist.
A person with good eyes,
encountering a treacherous, uneven place,
would try hard to avoid it.
A wise person, in the world of life,
should avoid evil deeds.
Udāna 5.43
Translated from Pāli by Thanissaro Bhikkhu
A lot of people make this far more complicated than it actually is and many people do not fully understand the aims of these so in turn do not really benefit form the power of them.
What are correspondences?
The simple and plain answer is that they are a little bit like an anchor or a trigger used to stimulate a certain emotional state, especially useful for setting the right intention.
They come in many forms and can be:
·Olfactory (smell)
·Taste
·Visual
·Auditory
·Tactile as in touch
For example, if I was to say to you think of the colour red, everyone would visualise something red, a phone box, a sheet of red paper, a red stop sign, a heart and so. When the person visualises the colour, it will have a different emotional value presented by life…
Let go of the past, let go of the future,
let go of the present, and cross over to the farther shore of existence.
With mind wholly liberated,
you shall come no more to birth and death.

Mercury begins its second retrograde of 2018 today; you may find yourself calling upon the 9 of Wands to make it through to Mercury Direct Day, which is April 15th. This is a card of stamina, persistence, and determination, of being able to rise up again, even though you have been knocked down more than once.
Change is not always easy, but your resolve to stick with it and make progress, and continue with the changes, one at a time, will see you through this. This is not a bad thing, but sometimes we all tire a bit. Cue a little ‘Eye of the Tiger’ to pump you up and see you through the day. You’ve got this!
See you here tomorrow!

To reconnect with my Weekly and Love and Finance Tarot…
A prolific author and speaker, Alan Watts was one of the first to interpret Eastern wisdom for a Western audience. Born outside London in 1915, he discovered the nearby Buddhist Lodge at a young age. After moving to the United States in 1938, Alan became an Episcopal priest for a time, and then relocated to Millbrook, New York, where he wrote his pivotal book The Wisdom of Insecurity: A Message for an Age of Anxiety. In 1951 he moved to San Francisco where he began teaching Buddhist studies, and in 1956 began his popular radio show, “Way Beyond the West.” By the early sixties, Alan’s radio talks aired nationally and the counterculture movement adopted him as a spiritual spokesperson. He wrote and traveled regularly until his passing in 1973.
In 1940, Alan published The Meaning of Happiness, a book based on his talks. Ironically, the book was issued on the eve of the second World War. After a brief time in New York, Alan moved to Chicago and enrolled at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, deepening his interest in mystical theology. Alan was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1944, but by the spring of 1950, Alan’s time as a priest had run its course, and he left the Church and Chicago for upstate New York. There he settled into a small farmhouse outside Millbrook and began writing The Wisdom of Insecurity: A Message for an Age of Anxiety.
In early 1951 Alan relocated to San Francisco, where, at Dr. Frederic Spiegelberg’s invitation, he began teaching Buddhism at the American Academy of Asian Studies (which later became the California Institute of Integral Studies). Drawing quite a crowd, his classes at the Academy soon blossomed into evening lectures open to the public and spilled over to local coffee houses frequented by Beat poets and writers.
Alan’s career took to the airwaves in 1953, when he accepted a Saturday evening slot on Berkeley’s KPFA radio station. That year he began a broadcast series titled “The Great Books of Asia” followed in 1956 by “Way Beyond the West” — which proved to be quite popular with Bay Area audiences. Re-broadcast on Sunday mornings, the show later aired on KPFK in Los Angeles as well, beginning the longest-running public radio series — nearly 60 years at this writing.
By the mid-fifties a “Zen Boom” was underway as Beat intellectuals in San Francisco and New York began celebrating and assimilating the esoteric qualities of Eastern religion into an emerging worldview that was later dubbed “the counterculture” of the 1960’s. Following the 1966 publication of The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are, which sold very well, requests for appearances poured in. Alan lectured at colleges throughout the U.S. and conducted seminars at fledging “growth centers” across the country, such as the world-renowned Esalen Institute of Big Sur, California. Broadcasts of his talks continued at KPFA and KPFK, and spread east to WBAI in New York and WBUR in Boston. The weekly shows attracted a wide audience and Alan became an important figure in the counterculture movement.
As the movement gathered steam, the San Francisco Bay Area became a hotbed for radical politics, and a focal point of interest in Far Eastern ideas of enlightenment and liberation. The growing movement united civil rights activists, antiwar protesters, and members of the Free Speech movement, drawing thousands of young people to the Bay Area in 1967. After his stirring performance at a “Zenefit” for the San Francisco Zen Center, and a celebrated article on “Changes” in the Oracle alternative newspaper, Alan soon became recognized as a spiritual figurehead of the revolutionary movement. (Recorded at the Avalon Ballroom on April 6, 1967, Alan’s Zenefit lecture is titled Zen Bones.)
By the late-sixties Alan was living on a ferryboat in Sausalito in a waterfront community of bohemians, artists, and other cultural renegades. Alan’s ferryboat soon became such a popular destination that to maintain his focus on writing, he moved into a cabin on the nearby slopes of Mount Tamalpais. There he became part of the Druid Heights artist community in the late sixties. Continuing to travel on lecture tours into the early seventies, Alan was increasingly drawn to life on the mountain, where he wrote his mountain journals (later published as Cloud Hidden, Whereabouts Unknown), penned his monograph The Art of Contemplation, worked on his autobiography In My Own Way, and wrote his final book, Tao: The Watercourse Way. However, soon after returning from a whirlwind lecture tour that took him through the U.S., Canada, and European, Alan passed away in his sleep on November 16, 1973, on the mountain he loved.
