Day 34 – Locking it Down with CPM

CPM's avatarCook Plant Meditate

I started writing this Lockdown blog on March 14, three days before my county announced Shelter in Place orders. I have not seen a single roll of toilet paper in stores since then. Keeping in mind that I am following orders, I only go out for essential business or essential work, I only visit stores about every 8-9 days, and I am the only one in my household who visits stores… no toilet paper for 34 days. Not one single package or roll.

I am left wondering what happened to all the toilet paper that goes to high rise buildings in San Francisco, or bathrooms of restaurants which are all “closed for cleaning”. If millions of people are no longer pooping on company time, it means they’re buying more for their home, leaving grocery shelves empty for longer. So, why can’t all that toilet paper which was destined for now-empty…

Daily Words of the Buddha for April 17, 2020

Yo imasmiṃ dhammavinaye
Appamatto vihassati!
Pahāya jātisaṃsāraṃ dukkhassantaṃ karissatī.

Who so untiringly pursues the Dhamma and the Discipline
Shall go beyond the round of births and make an end of suffering.

Daily Words of the Buddha for April 16, 2020

Dadato puññaṃ pavaḍḍhati;
Saṃyamato veraṃ na cīyati;
Kusalo ca jahāti pāpakaṃ,
Rāgadosamohakkhayā sanibbuto.

Who gives, one’s virtues shall increase;
Who is self-curbed, no hatred bears;
Who so is skilled in virtue, evil shuns,
And by the rooting out of lust and hate
And all delusion, comes to be at peace.

Gratitude Moments …

Don’t let the process between the time you declare what you want to manifest and the time it takes for it to come into your reality make you panic or worry if it’s actually going to happen. You must trust, believe, and have unwavering faith that everything is happening for you.

Don’t worry if you don’t see changes your away. Your mental reality is shifting and soon your outer reality will match your internal state. Be patient with yourself. We’re so stressed out these days, because we believe everything needs to happen right now. We forget that everything happens in perfect timing. We always want everything to happen instantly. If we don’t see anything changing on the outside, we start to lose faith in the power to manifest our reality. We even might start doubting if it’s even real or possible. You can’t plant the seed and instantly pull it out to see if anything is growing. Your role now is to water the thoughts, habits, and beliefs you want to manifest externally. Soon you will see what you’ve planted come into fruition. We have to be more patient and more trusting as we are doing the inner work. You are making a lot of changes in your life and the energy of your mind, body, and soul is shifting to a higher frequency to align you to new experiences, new habits, new people, new energy, and a whole new mindset. Everything will suddenly change for you. It will all happen. However, your number one focus right now is to continue making the changes and don’t give up on yourself. Keep watering your seed. Give yourself the space you need to reconnect with inner-self. Keep reminding yourself why you even wanted to change in the first place. Deep down within your soul you knew you deserved more out of life than what you used to settle for. Now that you’re going to be more patient, you’ll be allowing the work to be done through you and for you. Soon you will notice the results of your efforts. You will see how powerful you are.

Day 29 – Locking it Down with CPM (Hoppy Easter!)

CPM's avatarCook Plant Meditate

Happy Easter, peeps! Family and friends: I wish we could share a meal today, but I’m not sad or disappointed. We can all gather again soon. We will be even happier for our gatherings.

Have a wonderful Easter, friends, and remember:
Be happy today! Be thankful if you and your family are safe at home!
Be thankful of those keeping us running!
Don’t read the news today.
Open the curtains.
Do things you enjoy.

I’ve been keeping busy. The school finally sent out distance learning, and we got that all figured out.

I ordered some fabric from JoAnn and began sewing masks with this old, basic sewing machine that is frustrating on its best day. I haven’t taken it out of the box in probably 7 years. It jams repeatedly, snaps my thread, and won’t fill a bobbin evenly. But I trudged ahead, calling it every naughty word in the…

Current Events | Dumped Milk, Smashed Eggs, Plowed Vegetables: Food Waste of the Pandemic

TYPICAL AMERICAN LOGIC … while we have a nation of people clammoring to buy up store-bought “foods”, or lined up for miles to get to food banks, and worse yet continue to witness children starving both here and across the globe, American farmers have been “ordered” to destroy fresh food and kill livestock (already tortured as a daily practice) because corporate profit margins aren’t meeting their YTD margins?? I bet the people running every aspect of this horrific commercial chain of commerce are observing today’s Holy Day in one hypocritical form or another. Sorry, but that’s a shambolic response to the current state of human affairs …

Meditation …

Denial is a finger of blame pointing toward another.
Conflict is an expectation imposed upon another.
Frustration is the inability to control the will of another.
Sadness is a dependency on another.
Loneliness is waiting for another to arrive.
Solitude is freedom from needing another.
Harmony is embracing the uniqueness of another.
Grace is seeing there is no other.
Enlightenment is when the subjects of one and another disappear.
Love is what remains throughout it all.

Day 24 – Locking it Down with CPM

If Buddy the Elf was a Halloween character, that would be my niece. And this would be her motto:

  1. Treat every day like Halloween.
  2. There’s room for everyone on the naughty list.
  3. The best way to spread Halloween fears is to put on your “apocalypse doctor” mask during a global pandemic and head to the grocery store.

This is my niece… I find her to be hilarious. She loves Halloween. She showed up to a random non-Halloween party last year in full Halloween make up. She does amazing make -up for any occasion. I love her scarecrow costume.

Speaking of scary. It was haircut day here in hell over the weekend. I used to cut my husbands hair but about 5 years ago, I handed him $20, sent him to Great Clips and never looked back. He needed a haircut before they shut down the salons 3 weeks ago, so…
