Meditation ~ Priorities

AtomicZen

The natural tendency is to treat matters of the spirit as luxury items—sort of an appendage to life.

Eating, sleeping, making money—these things are given priority and the time dedicated to them is sacrosanct.

But prayer, meditation and study fit in only when you feel like it, and are pushed aside on the slightest whim.

You’ve got to make your priorities faithful to your inner self. You’ve got to ask yourself if this is what your life is all about.

Set a schedule for spiritually enriching activities.

Be as tough with that schedule as a workaholic would be with his business.

Seeds for Meditation … Inherited Faith

aloha_ability

Our job is not to have faith. We have faith already, whether we want it or not. It comes in our blood from our ancestors, who gave their lives for it.

Our job is to transport that higher vision that gave them their faith down into our minds, into our personalities, into our words, into our actions in daily life. To make it part of our selves and of our world.

Morning Zen Meditation ~ Master Amon

“We do all things better if we are peaceful.

Will you take a little time now to join me in the temple? I invite you to relax and be “an individual unit of happiness” even if just for a little while.

Let the music play inside of you. Listen to the crickets, feel everything. Keep a little smile and let go…everything is alright.”

Let’s try it – for 10 minutes…the temple bells will let you know when meditation is over.

There is compassion that feeds the ego
and there is compassion that humbles it.

Compassion that feeds the ego
is a sense of pity for those who stand beneath you.

Compassion that humbles
is born of a deeper understanding of the order of things:

When you understand that your fellow man is suffering
in order that you may be privileged to help him
—then you are truly humbled.

This is a special moment in the time-wave continuum: that mysterious, potent space between lightning and thunder, between inhalation and exhalation. Your positive influence interpersonally and with your tribe, community, and associates, could not be more well placed than it is now. Charisma is now your companion and ally.

This is the time in your earthly cycle when you are set to receive abundance, and it is mandated for you to receive in great measure. Your previous struggles and sorrows have paved the way for this time of abundance in the time-wave continuum. For the completion of this cycle be fully awake, disassociate from any negativity no matter how large or how small and find stillness on a regular schedule. Stillness is as important to the being as water is to the body as you make the grand shift into the self that you will remember as your authentic self, the self that has been denied.

The great abounding that lies before you happens when after isolation in the darkness and confinement of the counting house, you emerge to give of your light, love, and spirit. This activates your inner knowledge and opens the portals to growth and contentment, which will make way for peace and of love, light and the strength to handle it. It is big and in that bigness you must be in the clarity of self to receive. At this point do not skip your practice in anyway. When you find yourself saying I don’t have time for this, it is then you must step forward and ready yourself for the grace of the God form which is what will be your sustenance during this new and glorious cycle.

Move forward on your own to accomplish and complete your most precious tasks and you will be positioned to receive the support, goods, and profits you have desired and toiled for. This is the time, the moment of receiving abundance, when you shine like the sun at midday, spreading your light and sharing the blessings that are coming your way.

Now the benefit is to walk with like-minded people, fellow pilgrims. Move away from those who suck your energy by raising doubts, fears, or envy.

The ego, the critic, the inner judge, will try to sneak in while you are traveling on your path and tell you that you need to be reasonable, clever, suspicious, and, above all, to look good in others’ eyes. It would have you create imaginary problems that would cause you to incorrectly evaluate the situation before you. The crux of the teaching in this hexagram is to remain aware and fully present. This will be found in stillness.

Consciously let go of trying to get approval from others. This is the ego trying to interfere and keep you from fully appreciating the beauty and the myriad gifts of life. As you slow down, and allow your childlike innocense to appreciate the beauty all around you, there will emerge a strength that you have not known before. You will find strength wrought not from pain or angst, but from peace, laughter, and joy.

“Graduation,” by Nimesh Patel

Have your eye on the goal, but then let it all go
For everything changes, as you will come to know
Every plan you make, and every seed you sow
Is impermanent, nothing is ever yours to own

Once you realize this, oh you will see the truth
That you never were the planter of your own fruits,
But accept these gifts even if you don’t know from who
And kindly pay it forward to those behind you

Cuz ultimately, what we take will always disappear
But what we give will live on for years
So keep giving, of your stuff and yourself
Until your ego, has completely melted

Be wary of the impact that you wanna make
Instead make sure you are impacted each day
Have your eye on the sky, but still see the ants
For the small things are the foundation of all that will last

We move on
As time passes by
Let’s just hope we move from
Darkness to light
When we reach the top
And we look back, I
Hope you cry,
Filled with tears of joy, satisfied

Be careful not to accumulate too many things
Because you may just end up with a pot full of greed
And doing, likewise can also be deceiving
So I encourage you all to practice just being

Be still, be happy, be loving, be kind
Be humble, be magical, be aware, but be blind
Don’t judge, see the good in each and every soul
Use your mind when needed, but follow your heart even more

Also, don’t forget to thank God, every time you fail,
Cuz your journey from failure, will be your legacy and tale
Remember to feed birds, hug trees and bow to the sun
Until you and Mother Nature are one

The last thing, is to be grateful for all of your gifts
For gratitude and suffering cannot co-exist
When you reach this space, every moment will be bliss
And this graduating class, will mark your success

Happy, free, confused and lonely, miserable and magical at the same time
Our capacity to love is a currency that just never runs out,
Consider the likes of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa,
And may each of you tap into that generous ocean and discover everyday what it means to give,
In giving may you fully experience what it means to receive,
And as Martin Luther King Says, “Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve”
May you all find greatness in service to life,
May you all give, receive and never ever stop dancing. Thank you.

Seeds for Meditation … Our Destiny

Be fully in your body when you feel the pain of internal revolution, this is suffering, and suffering paves the way for you to live in freedom with dignity and compassion. As this destined change, this revolution, is happening, be and speak your truth.

Remember, you cannot hurt anyone with words or actions that are of truth; it is the choice of the other to take truth and attempt to subvert it by calling it hurt, hoping to be relieved of taking responsibility for their own contribution to the situation and their selfish efforts to be in control.

The world is not as you once knew it. The obstacles to your truth were the ones who attempted to convince you the way it was in their eyes, asking you to fulfill their dreams and desires, not yours. These were the ones who relished control over you and your dreams of freedom and wholeness. The image of this hexagram is that of metal over fire. The metal is molten and represents the cycle that is in transformation, waiting to take a new form, to become a new, creative, beneficial force.

In no uncertain terms, we have entered a new era—not by choice, but as a result of our destiny.

You Cannot Capture Silence, It Captures You ~ Richard Rohr

full-moon-451605_640

For me, the two correctives of all spirituality are silence and service. If either of those is missing, it is not true, healthy spirituality. Without silence, we do not really experience our experiences. We may serve others and have many experiences, but without silence, nothing has the power to change us, to awaken us, to give us that joy that the world cannot give, as Jesus says. And without clear acts of free service (needing no payback of any sort, even “heaven”), a person’s spiritual authenticity can and should be called into question. Divine Love always needs to and must overflow!

To live in this primordial, foundational being itself, which I am calling silence, creates a kind of sympathetic resonance with what is right in front of us. Without it, we just react instead of respond. Without some degree of silence, we are never living, never tasting, as there is not much capacity to enjoy, appreciate, or taste the moment as it purely is. The opposite of contemplation is not action, it is reaction. We must wait for pure action, which always proceeds from a contemplativesilence in which we are able to listen anew to truth and to what is really happening. Such spiritual silence demands a deep presence to oneself in the moment, which will probably have the same practical effect as presence to God.

You do not hear silence (precisely!), but it is that by which you do hear. You cannot capture silence. It captures you. Silence is a kind of thinking that is not thinking. It’s a kind of thinking which mostly sees(contemplata). Silence, then, is an alternative consciousness. It is a form of intelligence, a form of knowing beyond bodily reacting or emotion. It is a form of knowing beyond mental analysis, which is what we usually call thinking. All of the great world religions at the higher levels(mystical) discovered that our tyrannical mode of everyday thinking (which is largely compulsive, brain-driven, and based on early patterning and conditioning) has to be relativized and limited, or it takes over, to the loss of our primal being and identity in ourselves. I used to think that mysticism was the eventual fruit of years of contemplation; now I think it all begins with one clear moment of mystic consciousness, which then becomes the constant “spring inside us, welling up unto eternal life”.

One thing is a constant in our universe, that is change, and now as there is a great shifting of energies on planet earth: prepare as it is now reflected on your life path.

Necessity and opportunity are now combined, making this a rarified time where your power to make positive change is at its most dynamic. It is a time that can carry you to heights you have not before imagined. No need to rush or panic, there will be time to do what must be done. And have no doubts the changes you have desired and dreamed are active as never before.
When you read or hear this message from the ancient oracle avoid the temptation to make changes purely for the sake of change that would be folly. Be present, and with out shame or judgment seek wise council when necessary from either your inner teachers or the ones in the flesh who are accessible. Don’t let your ego keep you from asking for assistance from a wise person in your tribe when you feel you are missing something in the process. This will be of benefit to family, tribe and relationships as all moves toward the benefit of the greater good.
Carefully consider each move you deem necessary, consider all aspects and ramifications of your action; then make that move the focal point of your actions and supported by finding stillness in your meditation. In stillness you will be shown the proper time to take action or to discard a particular action. Moving in this way, you can build a solid foundation from which to launch your revolution, your re-evolution, and the change that will allow you to achieve supreme success. And have no doubt; this time in your life, and that of the world tribe, is nothing short of revolution. Be well armed, with your armory of love, kindness and compassion.

How do you respond to criticism?  Do you find yourself trying to justify your actions, even if you know you’re not entirely right?

It’s not enough not to respond with diffidence, a sour face, or resentment. We need to value honest reproach and even love it. Why? Because self-love often prevents us from seeing ourselves objectively. Some constructive criticism is often just what we need to recognize where we really are and help us see how we can improve.

Now obviously, if you are the one giving the criticism, you need to think long and hard about why and how you speak. But when criticism comes along, let’s be ready to take it in the right way.

How does criticism make you feel? Have you ever used it to spur growth?

Electric StormAt this time move forward with no prejudice or hidden agenda. Listen to the voice of the ego that has prejudice and judgment and change its words to positive thought and intention. This creates openness, which is the wordless, gentle joy of what the teaching is in this translated text.
Thoughts have great influence.
Correct thoughts free of prejudice
Bring a bountiful outcome.
 Negative thoughts will undo
The good you have accomplished.
Change your way of thinking.
No Blame, no guilt, no shame
Only change, and change is like a holiday
Exerting influence can be a tricky business. Thoughts and actions that attempt to manipulate or gain power over others leave nothing but hate and animosity in their tracks and will not achieve your goals. Look to your motives in exerting influence. When you are confident that you are coming from your highest good, for the good of all, you will find that your influence, though apparently invisible, is as powerful as the wind that stirs the waters.

Be The Change … Go With The Flow

Though it appears that associates, old stale influences of family, church and state or your lack of comprehension in relationships may be blocking your progress; they will soon be moved toward your favor. This is assured. You can achieve this gently and without words. It will be done by means of the invisible forces of your intent with the energy of compassion, gratitude, kindness and joyfulness. Look for and embrace your passion … be it for the Lilies in the field, or for the love that is yours to embrace. Open your eyes along with your heart … it is there before you … move from loneliness to the intention of love … and you will be … that is, you will simply be.

Your heart knows the truth.
Limit your words;
They have no effect.
Your actions and thoughts
Are benefits of all and for the greater good.

To correctly have influence with others in your tribe, walk a mile in their moccasins. This will allow you to know their position and their thoughts. This is the rightness of empathy. With this knowing you access your intuition, which will counsel you on correct thoughts and actions. This is the way: The way of compassion, this is Tao.

Hospitality entails creating not just physical room but emotional spaciousness where the stranger can enter and be himself or herself, where the stranger can become ally instead of threat, friend instead of enemy. May this cause you to pause and consider the lines you can artificially draw between yourself and others, and wonder what beautiful things may happen if you are willing to let those lines go.

Is there an observation of silence by silence in silence?
Krishnamurti: Is there an observation of silence by silence in silence?

The tendency of people to be fearful of those experiences they call apparitions or assign to the “spirit world,” including death, has done infinite harm to life. All these things so naturally related to us have been driven away through our daily resistance to them, to the point where our capacity to sense them has atrophied … Fear of the unexplainable has not only impoverished our inner lives, but also diminished relations between people; these have been dragged, so to speak, from the river of infinite possibilities and stuck on the dry bank where nothing happens. For it is not only sluggishness that makes human relations so unspeakably monotonous, it is the aversion to any new, unforeseen experience we are not sure we can handle.

— Rainer Maria Rilke
