Translation:

Oh Saints, the purifying pool of Ram Das is sublime

Under the protection of the Creator, no harm can come to me

Chanting the Lord’s name, Har, Har, my mistakes are washed away

Whomsoever bathes in the nectar tank is acclaimed all over the world;

The desires of that person’s mind are fulfilled

Bathing (in this sacredness) the mind becomes peaceful, as it meditates on God

Those who bathe here, they liberate and bless themselves and all their generations

Oh Saints, the purifying pool of Ram Das is sublime

One who bathes in the pool of the Saints achieves the state of supreme bliss

There is no death, there is no coming and going;

There is only meditating on the name of the Lord, Har, Har

He alone knows the wisdom of the Lord, on whom this Lord extends merciful kindness

Baba Nanak seeks the sanctuary of God; All his cares and worries are dispelled

Those who bathe here, they liberate and bless themselves and all their generations

Oh Saints, the purifying pool of Ram Das is sublime

Seminary ~ Exercise ~ The Secret of Remote Viewing and Astral Projection

astral OBE
Imagine going on vacation to Greece. You are staying in a stunning white villa overlooking the crystal blue waters of the sea … The sun is reflecting on the water and sparkling like diamonds.

What if you could check out your vacation spot (and not with brochures or old photos) before booking your trip …

If you are skilled in Astral Projection or Remote Viewing, you do exactly that and much, much more.

When you practice Remote Viewing, you can see your target as clearly as you see these words…

So what is the secret to achieving vivid clarity and detail?

Practice visualization.

It sounds really simple, but spending just a few minutes each day on this practice will train your brain to bring back
more detail, color and clarity every time you remote view or project to a target.

Start with a memory.

Imagine the last time you ate an orange.

See the orange in your mind. See how bright the color is, the dimples in the skin of the orange, fell the texture and
the weight of it in your hand. Peel the skin back. Hear the sound it makes and smell the citrus of the fruit. Make
every detail as bright and vivid as possible.

This may be difficult at first and you may not be able to hold all of the details in you mind. But as you practice, you will
find that it becomes easier and your visualizations will become brighter and your mind will hold more details at
one time.

Move on to other memories. Visualize a room in your house or a place that you have been. What does it smell like? What
types of sounds are in the vicinity? How does the room feel in contrast to your current location? Take in all the details. Go
back to the area you practiced on if possible and see what you missed.

Your consciousness will begin to extend beyond the boundaries of your physical body to absorb this data.

Try it out!  We think you will be amazed at the difference this will make when you go back to practice remote viewing and astral
projection!

We can’t wait to hear about your experiences with this technique!

JUST FOR TODAY … Sing!

Apple-world nature artwork by blankenho
Find a song that expresses how you feel about a loved one and share that song with them.

We all have a story.  When we listen, and listen well enough to take our  words and turn them into art, and sing it back to those with whom we interact, something happens. Alchemy through heightened communication … the spark of creative innovation … and it’s powerful.

Natural News ~ “Gluten-free” Finally Means Gluten-Free!

Grocery-Shopping
Click on image for full article

(NaturalNews) An increasing number of people in the world today are becoming intolerant to gluten, which is a specific protein found in wheat, rye and barley. Sensitivity to the gluten protein now affects roughly 18 million Americans. This growing problem has given rise to an ever-expanding industry of “gluten-free” products. In recent years, the “gluten-free” label has become an advertising ploy, backed by little accountability. Now, the FDA is getting involved, announcing new regulations to enforce the meaning of the “gluten-free” label.

Just For Today ~ Take Up A Hobby

gatitodelfin

Take up a hobby. You need play time. Slowly make a point to began an activity that you’ve always found interesting – be it gardening, cooking, reading, or participating in some type of sport.

When thinking of ways to create a better and healthier lifestyle, oftentimes people tend to think in terms of cutting back on certain choices, be it eating desserts, drinking alcohol, or perhaps just sitting on the couch watching TV. But one area in life that has been almost cut out entirely is something that actually should have never been cast aside — having a hobby. Not only is it a fulfilling, sometimes creative outlet, but it is also beneficial to your overall health.

“Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto.” — Dale Carnegie

Astrology ~ New Moon for August 25, 2014 (Virgo New Moon)

The new moon in Virgo takes place in the morning (US) on August 25th.  She opposes Neptune, but what interests me more is the tight conjunction of Mars and Saturn that takes place, simultaneously.

Virgo’s ruler, Mercury is looking good in his home sign.  When I pull this all together, this will be a great time to actually get something (major) done.

I am not talking about washing the dishes. I am talking about preserving and solving a puzzle or some kind of intractable problem in your life.

Here are some ideas:

New Moon in the 1st house –  Fix your appearance.
New Moon in the 2nd house – Sort out finances. Streamline or automate your banking.
New Moon in the 3rd house –  Edit your writing. Organize your files.
New Moon in the 4th house – Clean and organize your house!
New Moon in the 5th house – Help your children. Read to them. Improve their health via diet  / daily habit. Talk to them.
New Moon in the 6th house – Give yourself to service, especially at work.
New Moon in the 7th house – Talk to your partner.
New Moon in the 8th house – Make a will. Clean up your psyche.
New Moon in the 9th house – Read about religion or other cultures. Talk to foreigners, especially about their beliefs.
New Moon  the 10th house – Set an example of efficient service.
New Moon in the 11th house –  Call a friend!
New Moon in the 12th house –  Donate your time. Help feed the poor.

Where does the new moon fall in chart?  Set your intention!
Get your plans in gear for roll-out on the 25th … Yeah, Baby!

The Golden Eternity, by Jack Kerouac

1029-origI have lots of things to share now, in case we ever meet, concerning the message that was transmitted to me under a pine tree in North Carolina on a cold winter moonlit night. It said that Nothing Ever Happened, so don’t worry. It’s all like a dream. Everything is ecstasy, inside. We just don’t know it because of our thinking-minds. But in our true blissful essence of mind is known that everything is alright forever and forever and forever. Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago and not even at all. It is all one vast awakened thing. I call it the golden eternity. It is perfect.

The world you see is just a movie in your mind.
Rocks dont see it.
Bless and sit down.
Forgive and forget.
Practice kindness all day to everybody
and you will realize you’re already
in heaven now.
That’s the story.
That’s the message.
Nobody understands it,
nobody listens, they’re
all running around like chickens with heads cut
off. I will try to teach it but it will
be in vain, s’why I’ll
end up in a shack
praying and being
cool and singing
by my woodstove
making pancakes.

I Ching ~ Week of August 18, 2014

DA YOU  #14 —  Da You  —  Possession in Great Measure

Above:     Li                    Radiance, Brightness, Fire
Below:     Quin/Gan    Heaven, Energy, Spirit Power

Patterns of Meaning:

Radiance/Fire:  Brightness that brings clarity and passion.
Energy/Parch: The dynamic act of nourishment and creativity; letting go of the old to incorporate, create, and make use of spirit power.

The Wisdom:

Heavenly forces
Make way for great possessing.
Improvement comes
By yielding to fate.
Fire is strength, and heaven is clarity. This is a most auspicious combination. These elements together indicate that all is moving upward. This is a time of abundance, improvement, and success.Your efforts, along with your intent toward goodness—for yourself, for your associates, for your family and friends, for the Earth—have created the present auspicious state. You may feel that improvement and abundance have yet to manifest in your life; however, this is where you must give yourself permission to take the eagle’s-eye view in examining your current situation and your progress on the path. Magically, from this height, you will see that your pathway has been correct; the abundance you have earned is waiting for you.
Abundance in all things
Awaits you;
Simply look
And calmly lay claim.
You now possess great power to manifest what you desire. Not often do we get a gift of strength like this. You see your situation clearly, and it is good.
The obstacles that once caused you to stumble are removed, and overhead the clouds have parted. Do not overreact. Remain calm, and your vision will become clear and your passion will lead the way to gain whatever it is you put on your cosmic wish list. It may be money, but don’t stop there—that is but a small part of the equation. You can now have clarity of purpose, but only if you remain calm and refrain from getting giddy or greedy as you are moved beyond obstacles to go deeper into spirit and love.To make you aware that the time of abundance is indeed here, you are feeling certain inner stirrings—of passion, happiness, or perhaps just a certain lightness of being. Do not become confused about these stirrings, which seem to come from the center of the Earth or from the place we identify as Heaven. Know that these feelings are a message from Spirit: they are meant to get your attention and are given to you in recognition of good works and proper intent—and also to wake you up.Immediately look to your inner core, to your true self, the one operating outside of greed, pride, or judgment. That is the real you, and it is good. This understanding of your authentic self is now available to you as never before. You are in the radiance of your connection to Spirit, to Gaia, to the great Oneness.
You are given a light
That can shine on all that has decayed.
It is within your power
To restore what has been spoiled.

You have passed through a time of doubt and darkness. Some might call it depression. It wasn’t that; it was you, warming up to get ready for the big breakthrough.During this last period we have passed through, the light of love, abundance, and success has at times seemed like a fleeting memory. You may have felt like you were being teased by the light—just at the very moment you thought you would grasp it, it slipped away—now you see it, now you don’t.Never doubt that the universe has a wicked sense of humor. It is to keep you on your toes and make sure you have the ability to laugh at yourself, the self you often take so bloody seriously.Through your perseverance and good intention, Possession in Great Measure is here and here to stay, if you allow it. Be aware that Da You, while sounding the bell of abundance, also carries a formula for abundance attached to a warning: that to maintain this joyous and abundant pathway you must refrain from arrogance, judgment, and self-delusion.

Recall your what brought you here on your pathway; pretty magical, if you look at it from the right end of the telescope. Appreciate what you have done and who has helped you achieve the necessary clarity to reach for and maintain what is yours. Honor yourself and them—especially those who have sorely tested you. Opportunity abounds now, whether in business, love, your health, or your spiritual development. Be generous in all things, and this time of abundance will continue to circulate through your life.

At this time, the pieces of the puzzle of life have come together to make a beautiful image of the future and your place in it. Obstacles are removed, and darkness and the dark ones are vanquished. This is a time when you have been readied to receive great blessings—in love, business, health, family, and friendships.

Sometimes the ego tells us that what we see is false, an illusory trick of the mind. Do not let fear or doubt allow you to conclude that what is being presented to you is yet another manipulation from the ego to hold you in the bondage of feeling separate. Do not let the ego have its way with you, as that would only prevent you from claiming the abundance and joy that is placed squarely before you. These presentations will not be subtle, either; the light of the universe is shining on them.

Trust and remember to share the wealth that now comes to you, in whatever form it takes, like a warm, fragrant breeze floating on an early summer night. In case you may have forgotten, that breeze is called love, and it is a flow.

Use love to illuminate your path and the path of those who walk with you. In this way, the way of sharing, your love, inner strength, and spirit will increase, and the harmonious circumstances that set things in their present course will be recognized and honored. To keep the current of love flowing through your life, use humility, grace, good manners, and generosity.

When we are positioned well in times such as these we must recognize that we have a responsibility to our family, associates, and tribe of friends. As you feel more secure in your seat of abundance, give of your time and loving energy: to children, to the beneficial ecology of Mother Earth, and to all the living beings that surround us. There is transformative magic in these actions, and you are now the magician. Recognize your role and act on it. In this way, this blessed cycle will repeat again and again in your life.

Shine like the sun at midday. Bring laughter and happiness to those around you. The true message of this hexagram is held in your heart. It is the key to gaining the confidence to magically transform your own life and the lives of those around you. If there is love or a new opportunity on the horizon, it is time to let it in. You are safe and strong and have a clarity that you very likely have never known before. At this time love will grow as never before. Abundance will increase in proportion to your love, and your heart will soar.

Oftentimes we hear the warning to not take things personally. This is not such a time. Take this time, and the joy and abundance that go with it, very personally. It is yours. Sing, laugh, be joyful, and allow yourself to love and be loved, and love yourself. Now is the time to be a cosmic love generator.

Many blessings

Astrology ~ WEEKLY HOROSCOPES, Aug. 18-24, 2014, by Beverley

green amazon parrotGENERAL PLANETARY INFLUENCES

Astrologically it’s a much quieter week, so the horoscopes may look very similar to last weeks, although the aspects formed between planets may differ, as they do move by a few degrees. Mercury and Venus both stay where they are until early September, Mars in Scorpio until Mid September, and the generation planets Jupiter through to Pluto remain where they are for some considerable time yet, both in their signs and Direct or Retrograde movement.

The Sun is now in it’s last week of theatrical, impressive, bossy, frivolous Leo. On Sunday however the Sun moves into practical, systematic Virgo, adding a bit more interest, but more details on the Virgo Sun next week.

The Moon starts the week in talkative, impulsive, flirtatious Gemini staying there until Wednesday. On Thursday it moves into caring, emotional, defensive & sensitive Cancer. On Saturday it moves into domineering, exuberant, melodramatic Leo.

Mercury is now settled in balanced, decisive, fastidious Virgo, with a practical, structured and detailed approach.

Venus is now settled in loving, expressive & excessive Leo, with possible tendencies to go over the top at times.

Mars remains in compulsive, envious, responsive, resourceful Scorpio, until the middle of next month, with a need for personal control over people and situations.

Jupiter is now approximately one third of the way through benevolent, extrovert, positive, expansive Leo, making us kind-hearted.

Saturn remains in responsible, shrewd, strong-willed Scorpio, until the end of 2014. It is now traveling Direct, enabling self expansion in some respects.

Uranus remains in assertive, blunt, energetic, self-willed Aries, for several years, and can make us individualistic and rebellious, unexpected events or disruptive emotional matters, may distract us, or help us see things differently.

Neptune remains in sensitive, intuitive Pisces for the foreseeable future, and helps us gradually develop more empathy, compassion, and build understanding, in a wide variety of ways, but also indicates a need to remain realistic. Neptune is now traveling Retrograde until Mid December, indicating boundaries between reality and illusion may blur at times, causing possible confusion, with a need to look at people and situations realistically.

Pluto remains in Capricorn for quite a few years, so is a very long term influence, showing knowledge gradually acquired on deeper levels, with balance, & realistic ways of recycling & developing our intuitive knowledge further, to use practically. Pluto travels Retrograde until late September, with a relentless search for inner truth, furthering our self knowledge approached the right way.

3. Kalaimamahu: A decendant of Liloa and younger brother of Kamehameha. He was an important principle chief from the beginning of Kamehameha’s rise to power. He was a pukaua war chief at the battle of Mokuohai and continued in the wars with rival chiefs. After the battle of Nuuanu, he is given the lands of Laluaokau, Pau, Waimanu and Laie. He dies on Oahu.

4. KEAWE A HEULU KALUAPANA: Uncle and inner circle member of the Ka Aha Ula o Kamehameha Kunuiakea from the beginning following the death of Kalaniopuu. For more information on this alii, please refer to full bio on individual portrait.

5. Kauakahikaha’ola: A renown Kahuna from Kauai. He was a counselor for Kalaniopuu and later served Kamehameha in the same capacity. He was appointed early to the council and was also a moo kuauhau (genealogist).

6. KE’EAUMOKU PAPAIAHIAHI: Inner circle member of the Ka Aha Ula o Kamehameha Kunuiakea from the beginning following the death of Kalaniopuu. He had the most turbulent personality of Kamehameha’s sacred circle of advisors. Trouble seemed to shadow him all his life. His father was Keawepoepoe and his mother was Kama`iku. His paternal line bestowed him with all the privileges extended to the royal house of Liloa of Hawaii. Through his maternal line came the royal blood of Kalani Piilani of Maui. His grandfather was Lonoikahaupu ruler of Kauai, and therefore he inherited all the kapu and status from those royal ancestors. He was a true pukaua (warrior leader). He was tall and stately but had a quick temper and was very fierce in battle. He was a half brother to the kapu twins Kame’eiamoku and Kamanawa who were all uncles to Kamehameha. He was also the father of Kamehameha’s favorite wife Kaahumanu. For more information on this alii, please refer to full bio on individual portrait.

7. Ka’aloa: He was one of the early appointed councilors of Kamehameha and previously served in that same capacity under Kalaniopuu. It is a measure of his ability and competence that he was asked to serve on the high councils of both great alii nui.
8. KAMEHAMEHA KUNUIAKEA Kamehameha Kunuiakea (Kamehameha) called the great, is the most well known of all Hawaiian chiefs. His name is known worldwide. His exploits and accomplishments are legion. It would be impossible to include even the highlights of his life in a bio-capsule such as this. For more information on this alii, please refer to full bio on individual portrait.

9. Keli’imaika’i: Kalanimalokulokuikapo’okalani (Keliimaika’i) was a younger brother of Kamehameha and one of his principle chiefs from the beginning. He is said to have been the favorite brother of Kamehameha. He was the father of Chief Kekuaokalani and Chiefess Ka’oanaeha, grandmother of Queen Emma Naea Rooke. After the battle of Nuuana, he was given the lands of Kaneloa in Waikiki, Kona and Punaluu, Ko’olauloa, O’ahu. He dies on O’ahu in 1809.

10. KEKUHAUPI’O: Kekuhaupi’o was the senior advisor to Kamehameha. Of the five members of the Aha ‘Ula (the sacred red chord) or symbolically the royal chiefly council tied together by blood, Kekuhaupi’o had the most influence on the life of the young Kamehameha. He was responsible for all the training of his young charge including military science, martial arts, use of weapons, genealogy, farming, fishing, and physical training. For more information on this alii, please refer to full bio on individual portrait.

11. Kawelo’okalani: A younger brother to Kamehameha and one of his principle chiefs from the beginning, which began at the battle of Mokuohai in South Kona that resulted in the death of Kiwala’o.

12. KAME’EIAMOKU: Kapu twin and uncle and inner circle member of the Ka Aha Ula o Kamehameha Kunuiakea. Of all the councilors, they are the most closely related to Kamehameha. The twins were also half brothers to Kahekilinuiahumanu, Kalola, Kamehamehanuiailuau, Kauhiaimokuakama, Kekumanoha, Ke’eaumokuapaiahiahi, Keawema’uhili and Namahana. The twins other relatives were listed among the who’s who of Hawaiian aristocracy. When Kame’eiamoku and Kamanawa were living on Maui, their older brother Kahekili made them kapu and sent them to Hawaii to stay by Kamehameha’s side and be his “kahu” (gardians). Kahekili is recognized as one po’olua father to Kamehameha. His other po’olua father was Keoua (half brother of Kalaniopu’u with the same mother) of Hawaii. The twins were instructed by Kahekili to protect, advise, guide and teach Kamehameha. They remained faithful to their young charge during the reign of Alapa’i, and after his death, Kalaniopu’u’s that followed. They continued serving well into Kamehameha’s own rise to power. They were by his side until their own deaths preceded the culmination of his conquests. For more information on this alii, please refer to full bio on individual portrait.

13. Hueo Kalanimoku: A grandson of Maui Alii nui Kekaulike and older brother to Kamauleule (Chief Boki) and Chiefess Wahinepi’o. He held the high office of Kalaimoku in the Aha Ula. He was also appointed Pukaua Nui (senior war chief) and Pu’uku Nui (Treasurer- with the duty of dividing lands, foods, and gifts to the al’I and makaainana by Kamehameha. Na Pohaku ~ Opal: A Photonic Crystal

opal_dpulitzer

This opal from South Australia is beautiful… but why does it look like this?  It’s actually a photonic crystal!

Opal is made of small spheres of silicon dioxide, the same stuff as quartz.   These spheres are between 150 to 300 nanometers in diameter, and they’re arranged in a regular pattern.

When light waves pass through an opal, funny stuff happens when the distance between these spheres is half the wavelength of the light.  Imagine water waves trying to fight their way through a regular pattern of round logs standing in the water and you’ll get the picture.  The waves start to bounce back and interfere with themselves.

So, light of certain wavelengths winds up bouncing back off the opal instead of going through!  Since the opal is not perfectly the same everywhere, different parts reflect different colors of light.

When a repeating pattern strongly affects the behavior of light, it’s called a photonic crystal.  Nowadays people are making artificial photonic crystals.   Way back in 1887, the English physicist Lord Rayleigh experimented with stacking layers of different materials to make light of certain wavelengths interfere with itself and bounce back.  When this happens, we now call it a photonic band gap.   But Rayleigh only got this effect to occur in a single direction – at right angles to the layers.

Now people can make 3d arrays of tiny spheres that act as photonic crystals.  We might be able to use them to make color-changing paints and inks.  But the first commercial products involving photonic crystals are photonic-crystal fibers – a bit like ordinary optical fibers, but different.

Photonic crystals are one example of a metamaterial – a material whose optical or electronic properties depend not just on their composition, but from carefully designed tiny structures.

In the Middle Ages, some thought an opal could make you invisible if you wrapped it in a fresh bay leaf and held it in your hand.  Now people are designing metamaterials that can act like a ‘cloak of invisibility’.  But more about that later.

Puzzle: I said opal is made of tiny spheres of silicon dioxide (called silica), but what’s in the spaces between these spheres?

I don’t know – I only have a clue.  Wikipedia says opal is a hydrated form of amorphous silica, usually containing between 6% and 10% water.  Maybe the spaces between the spheres is a mix of silica and water?

A neuroscientist Paul D. MacLean was the person who revealed this theory after years of research in 1960s. He proposed that our brain was not one, but three interconnected brains, each one representing a distinct evolutionary step and each one possessing its own intelligence.

Each brain is connected to one another by the nerves and operates with a distinct intelligence, subjectivity, and memory. Emotion and thought, therefore, comes from two different but inter-connected brains – limbic brain (emotion) and neocortex (conscious thought).

Western Mysticism ~ Bill Donahue ~ WHAT WE ARE TAUGHT AND WHAT WE BELIEVE ARE NOT NECESSARILY SO

floatiesWe spend much of our lives being taught in school and in church as well.

We are told what is spiritually true, and what is historically true.

I am sure many of you learned this poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow during your school days.

Listen, my children, and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere …

The ride to alert the colonies that the British were coming was thru Massachussetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey
to Philadelphia Pa. Three Hundred and Forty Five miles in 5 days.

The problem is that Paul Revere did not make that ride. It was made by Israel Bissell.

On that night, three men were assigned to ride and warn the people that the British were coming. Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Israel Bissell. Dawes and Revere road from Boston to Lexington. Between the two of them 20 miles.

Israel Bissell road 5 days, 345 miles all the way to Philadelphia warning the colonies as he rode through Massachessetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pannsylvania.

But Henry Wadsworth Longfellow felt that Paul Reveres name was more patriotic sounding and rhymed better and so he wrote the poem about Paul Revere.

But Clay Perry wrote a poem about Israel Bissell that you can find on the net.

The beginning goes like this:

I. Bissell’s Ride – by Clay Perry
Listen, my children, to my epistle
Of the long, long ride of Israel Bissell,
Who outrode Paul by miles and time
But didn’t rate a poet’s rhyme

So what we all learned in our history class turns out not to be true. And we have to think, if they didn’t get right what happened 250 years ago how are we supposed to believe their Bible teachings of 3000 years ago.

That always leads me to think of George Gershwins song of many years ago:

It ain’t necessarily so
The things that your liable to read in the Bible
It ain’t necessarily so.

What this shows us is that the things that we read in our history books also are not necessarily so.

All of your children believe that Paul Revere was the hero that night  … Are you gonna tell them the truth?

Poor Israel Bissell got no mention of his heroic ride that night, because his name was not patriotic sounding and hard to rhyme.

Such is the nature of what we are led to believe.  It really is all show biz.
