Insight ~ from Grandmaster Jorge Enriquez

doorway eyeHello dear friends,
Much love and much light to you I send as I am being everyday reminded of the fantastic life and world I live in. So this is it, the time is now where we are called to stand strong and be a beacon for those that are walking in our footsteps. The time is now to face adversity and choose to not react, rather choose to respond positively and know that your changing balance can affect the outcome with clarity. When you are confronted with a situation or a person that is being abusive or negative, the enemy is not the person or situation. The enemy is the ego within you. Circumstance becomes dictated when self control is lost. Within your heart center you hold an enormous powerhouse of love and compassion. By tapping into it, daily, we can be our own rulers rather than let our emotions rule us. Meditation allows that focus to become part of your everyday being. I must admit to you, my dearest ones, that I have had a problem with emotional control and as many of you know have been very confrontational. So maybe you are saying to yourselves, that I should practice what I preach. And you are right. I have been tested and have failed many many times. My failure comes because I lacked the will to self control or didn’t care. But I see now the error that has placed me in harms way and has caused me to be a cause of others sadness. So I have to first apologize to all I have offended whether on purpose or in careless reaction. These past few weeks have been an eye opener for me. I have been tested and have even tested myself in a number of ways and I have been shown, through meditation and contemplation, my mistakes and insecurities. Yes yes insecurities which we all carry in some way or another. Through certain initiations and spiritual breakthroughs I have found insight into my truth and if i can, would like to extend my fraternal hand to heal and balance with unconditional Love.

Seeds for Meditation ~ Illuminations …

fire_dance

As we grow older, what is truly important in life becomes more apparent.
What is ultimately important is that we gain a living awareness that we are only here for a very temporary amount of time.  An awareness of your finite existence acts as a guiding torch, illuminating the real from the unreal.
Through the darkness of normal thinking, we mistakenly find value in things that are actually empty of any real substance. We unconsciously connect our life-force to such things, until one day they are ripped away from us, painfully disrupting our sense of satisfaction and contentment.
A genuine experience of that which is infinite, that which is non-dying, becomes a brilliant light within us, a guiding torch revealing the real truth of who we are and what we are here to do.
This ‘yogic discovery’ is what activates our happiness, it gives us vitality and strength, and ultimately it brings us into an unspeakable bliss.
“Mindfulness of death is a nectar-like medicine that restores you to health and a sentinel that watches over the discipline of your practice, never letting it stray into distractions.” -Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
It is not important what clothes you wear, the culture you come from, the belief system you subscribe to. It is not important how long you’ve practiced or how much experience you have.
What is important is that you enliven your body and mind so that you are no longer weighted by the negative gravity of the environment around you. It is important that the vitality inside of you is more powerful than the pressure outside of you.
It is important that you gain enough positive momentum that allows you to easily do what you need to do in order to consistently feel good, to smile, and to uplift those around you.
It is important that you enjoy your life and thus move swiftly in the direction of what you came here to do…and that requires powerful energy.
Your internal energy and outward projection must be stronger than any adversity, any stress, any depression, any insecurity. This is why group energy and immersions are so very important. They are significant enough in time and powerful enough in impact to completely shift the dominant energy in ones life.
What is difficult and seemingly impossible to do alone, becomes completely attainable together. We elevate ourselves above our obstacles and excel forward with smiles on our faces, brightness in our eyes.

Autumnal Equinox, September 2014: the First Day of Fall

Coming up next week is the Autumnal Equinox and New Moon … what a powerful combination of energies that you can use to begin manifesting as a co-creator of Heaven on Earth.

Grandtrines's avatarGrandtrines

The Autumnal Equinox of 2014 occurs on September 22nd at 9:29 CDT this year (Plano, TX).  (In other areas, such as the United Kingdom, it will occur on September 23rd in the early morning hours (0229 GMT)).  It is followed two days later by a new moon (Libra / Aries).  We will cover both in this entry.

First, the chart (set in Plano TX):

Autumnal Equinox 2014 September

We note that the Moon is very old and (predictably) near the Sun.  Venus is between them and would be “besieged” if the Sun and Moon were malefics (which they are not).  This places Venus on or near the mid-point of Sun and Moon and is arguably a favorable placement.  Moon is slightly past an opposition to Chiron and and an earlier opposition to Neptune (both in Pisces) earlier than that.

Before we go further with our analysis, let us make…

Seminary ~ What Is Divine Light?

sunkissed morn

In Theology, Divine Light, also called Divine Radiance or Divine Refulgence, is an aspect of Divine Presence, specifically an unknown and mysterious ability of God, Angels, or Human Beings to express themselves communicatively through spiritual means, rather than through physical capacities.

Spirituality

The term Light has been used in Spirituality, Vision, Enlightenment, Darshan, Tabor Light. Bible commentators such as Ritenbaugh see the presence of light as a metaphor of truth, good and evil, knowledge and ignorance. In the first Chapter of the Bible, Elohim is described as creating light by fiat and seeing the light to be good. In Hinduism, Diwali the festival of lights is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness. A Mantra in Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad (1.3.28) urges God to ‘from darkness, lead us unto Light’.

Various local Religious concepts exist:

Inner Light – Christian concept and Quaker doctrine

An Noor – Islamic term and concept

Ein Sof – in Rabbinic Judaism

Tabor Light – in Eastern Orthodox theology

Theoria – in Christian theology, illumination on the path to theosis

Ayat an-Nur – in Arabic, the Sign of Light

Zoroastrianism

Light is the core concept in Iranian Mysticism. The main roots of this thought is in the Zoroastrian beliefs, which defines The supreme God Ahura Mazda as the source of light. This very essential attribute is manifested in various schools of thought in the Iranian Religions and philosophy. Latter this notion has been dispensed into the whole Middle East, having a great effect of shaping the paradigms of different religions and philosophies emerging one after another in the region. After the Arab invasion, this concept has been incorporated into the Islamic teachings by Iranian thinkers, most famous of them Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi, who is the founder of the illumination philosophy.

Although this school had stemmed from the Iranian culture and beliefs, it has spread far into Europe and can be seen and traced in the teachings of the Enlightenment era, Renaissance movement, and even the secret cults as early Illuminati.

Sant Mat

In the terminology of Sant Mat Light and Sound are the two main and expressions of God and from them all the creation comes into existence. Inner Light (and Inner Sound) can be experienced with and after an initiation by a competent Guru during meditation, and are considered the better way to reach Enlightenment.

Eastern Orthodox Church

In the Eastern Orthodox tradition, the Divine Light illuminates the intellect of man through ‘theoria’ or contemplation. In the Gospel of John, the first few verses describe God as Light. “In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1:5 Christ also professes to bring the Divine Light to mankind. “I am the light of the world” John 8:12 The Divine Light is also called the Tabor Light which the apostles witnessed at the Transfiguration.

Paradigm Shift ~ On Having and Giving

Why do those with less always give more? This video shows what generosity truly is. When asked if they would share their food and money, those who can afford it say no. While those who desperately need what they have will gladly give it away. A bittersweet look at the human spirit.

Seeds for Meditation ~ “A Newly Rich Life With Yourself,” by Martha Nussbaum

O WildeDo not despise your inner world. That is the first and most general piece of advice I would offer. Our society is very outward-looking, very taken up with the latest new object, the latest piece of gossip, the latest opportunity for self-assertion and status. But we all begin our lives as helpless babies, dependent on others for comfort, food, and survival itself. And even though we develop a degree of mastery and independence, we always remain alarmingly weak and incomplete, dependent on others and on an uncertain world for whatever we are able to achieve.

As we grow, we all develop a wide range of emotions responding to this predicament: fear that bad things will happen and that we will be powerless to ward them off; love for those who help and support us; grief when a loved one is lost; hope for good things in the future; anger when someone else damages something we care about. Our emotional life maps our incompleteness: A creature without any needs would never have reasons for fear, or grief, or hope, or anger. But for that very reason we are often ashamed of our emotions, and of the relations of need and dependency bound up with them. […] People don’t know how to deal with their own emotions, or to communicate them to others. When they are frightened, they don’t know how to say it, or even to become fully aware of it. Often they turn their own fear into aggression. Often, too, this lack of a rich inner life catapults them into depression in later life. We are all going to encounter illness, loss, and aging, and we’re not well prepared for these inevitable events by a culture that directs us to think of externals only, and to measure ourselves in terms of our possessions of externals.

What is the remedy of these ills? A kind of self-love that does not shrink from the needy and incomplete parts of the self, but accepts those with interest and curiosity, and tries to develop a language with which to talk about needs and feelings. Storytelling plays a big role in the process of development. As we tell stories about the lives of others, we learn how to imagine what another creature might feel in response to various events. At the same time, we identify with the other creature and learn something about ourselves. As we grow older, we encounter more and more complex stories — in literature, film, visual art, music — that give us a richer and more subtle grasp of human emotions and of our own inner world.

So my second piece of advice, closely related to the first, is: Read a lot of stories, listen to a lot of music, and think about what the stories you encounter mean for your own life and lives of those you love. In that way, you will not be alone with an empty self; you will have a newly rich life with yourself, and enhanced possibilities of real communication with others.

—–

Discussion about enjoying A Newly Rich Life With Yourself:

1 – What do you understand by a self-love that does not shrink from the needy and incomplete parts of the self?

2 – Can you share a personal experience of a time when you discovered a newly rich life with yourself?

3 – What works for you in relating to yourself at a deeper level?

Daily Chabad ~ “Soul-Body Bonding,” based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson

swirly head

The human mind despises the body that houses it,
but the soul has only love.

The mind would soar to the heavens,
but for a body that chains it to the earth.
The mind would be consumed in divine oneness,
but for the body’s delusion of otherness,
as though it had made itself.

But the soul sees only G‑d.

In that very delusion of otherness,
in that madness of the human ego,
even there, the soul sees only G‑d.

For she says, “This, too, is truth.
This is a reflection of the Essence of all things,
of that which truly has neither beginning nor cause.”

And so she embraces the bonds of the body,
works with the body, transforms the body.
Until the body, too, sees only G‑d.

Seeds for Meditation ~ On Knowing

_elale_kule

There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic.
~ Anaïs Nin

… And yet, as that mosaic becomes complete the enlightenment process would be as if it were being experienced instantaneously.  It all comes down to that moment when you make that connection with that innermost part of your Self.  To place yourself in the front row, before your God … it’s all about that moment of communion.  And, once had, it is never lost.

7 Cheese Mac n Cheese – Southern Style

Bake time: 30-40 minutes
Prep time: 20 minutes

This makes a large amount of very rich macaroni and cheese. Cut the recipe in half to serve a family of four.

Traditionally, I have always prepared macaroni and cheese using a roux based cheese sauce (or sometimes out of a blue box…. Sssssh don’t tell), but after discovering Southern Style mac n cheese, I have another favorite in my recipe box. It’s definitely a more expensive and cholesterol laden favorite. You won’t want to make this on a tight budget. This is one of those “sometimes” dishes. Sometimes you’ll make it because you want awesome mac n cheese. Most of time, you won’t want to drop all that money on cheese.

PLEASE GRATE BY HAND! I cannot stress enough that you should please, pretty pretty please, go through the trouble of grating your cheeses by hand. If you look at the ingredients…

A Reflective Moment At Summer’s End

seaside tea time

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me lay an invincible summer.” — Albert Camus

As the seasons begin to change, and we move from summer to fall, spend the time this Holiday Monday to reflect on the year so far. What progress have you made this year toward the goals and intentions you set at the beginning of the year? Reflect on your thoughts- have you been gentle with yourself, or punished yourself for things still unaccomplished? Have unexpected surprises come and pulled you off course? Are there lessons to be learned from from those experiences?

Take a few minutes to reflect and be quiet now. Sit quietly and listen to your inner wisdom. See what thoughts enter your mind about what you truly want the remainder of this year to become. Write it down so that you can infuse your consciousness with these intentions.

Traditions & Art ~ Burning Man ~ Black Rock Desert, Nevada USA

2014 Burning Man celebration ~ Nevada USA
2014 Burning Man celebration ~ Nevada USA

Burning Man is a week-long annual event held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada, in the United States. The event begins on the last Monday in August, and ends on the first Monday in September, which coincides with the American Labor Day holiday. It takes its name from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy, which is set alight on Saturday evening. The event is described as an experiment in community, art, radical self-expression, and radical self-reliance.

One of the roots of the annual event now known as Burning Man began as a bonfire ritual on the summer solstice in 1986 when Larry Harvey, Jerry James, and a few friends met on Baker Beach in San Francisco[7] and burned a 9-foot (2.7-meter) wooden man as well as a smaller wooden dog. Harvey has described his inspiration for burning these effigies as a spontaneous act of “radical self-expression”.

We are all connected, like a single, fluid mass, and this is why we are able to help each other change. When one of us begins moving forward, all those around him are pulled along.

But if you yourself are standing still, how can you expect to push someone else ahead?

If you need to help someone else overcome his fault, first find that flaw within you. Move forward in that area, and then you can pull along the other guy.

The Discourse Summaries by S.N. Goenka

The Golden Eternity, by Jack Kerouac

1029-origI have lots of things to share now, in case we ever meet, concerning the message that was transmitted to me under a pine tree in North Carolina on a cold winter moonlit night. It said that Nothing Ever Happened, so don’t worry. It’s all like a dream. Everything is ecstasy, inside. We just don’t know it because of our thinking-minds. But in our true blissful essence of mind is known that everything is alright forever and forever and forever. Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago and not even at all. It is all one vast awakened thing. I call it the golden eternity. It is perfect.

The world you see is just a movie in your mind.
Rocks dont see it.
Bless and sit down.
Forgive and forget.
Practice kindness all day to everybody
and you will realize you’re already
in heaven now.
That’s the story.
That’s the message.
Nobody understands it,
nobody listens, they’re
all running around like chickens with heads cut
off. I will try to teach it but it will
be in vain, s’why I’ll
end up in a shack
praying and being
cool and singing

Astrology ~ WEEKLY HOROSCOPES, Aug. 18-24, 2014, by Beverley

green amazon parrotGENERAL PLANETARY INFLUENCES

Astrologically it’s a much quieter week, so the horoscopes may look very similar to last weeks, although the aspects formed between planets may differ, as they do move by a few degrees. Mercury and Venus both stay where they are until early September, Mars in Scorpio until Mid September, and the generation planets Jupiter through to Pluto remain where they are for some considerable time yet, both in their signs and Direct or Retrograde movement.

The Sun is now in it’s last week of theatrical, impressive, bossy, frivolous Leo. On Sunday however the Sun moves into practical, systematic Virgo, adding a bit more interest, but more details on the Virgo Sun next week.

The Moon starts the week in talkative, impulsive, flirtatious Gemini staying there until Wednesday. On Thursday it moves into caring, emotional, defensive & sensitive Cancer. On Saturday it moves into domineering, exuberant, melodramatic Leo.

Mercury is now settled in balanced, decisive, fastidious Virgo, with a practical, structured and detailed approach.

Venus is now settled in loving, expressive & excessive Leo, with possible tendencies to go over the top at times.

Mars remains in compulsive, envious, responsive, resourceful Scorpio, until the middle of next month, with a need for personal control over people and situations.

Jupiter is now approximately one third of the way through benevolent, extrovert, positive, expansive Leo, making us kind-hearted.

Saturn remains in responsible, shrewd, strong-willed Scorpio, until the end of 2014. It is now traveling Direct, enabling self expansion in some respects.

Uranus remains in assertive, blunt, energetic, self-willed Aries, for several years, and can make us individualistic and rebellious, unexpected events or disruptive emotional matters, may distract us, or help us see things differently.

Neptune remains in sensitive, intuitive Pisces for the foreseeable future, and helps us gradually develop more empathy, compassion, and build understanding, in a wide variety of ways, but also indicates a need to remain realistic. Neptune is now traveling Retrograde until Mid December, indicating boundaries between reality and illusion may blur at times, causing possible confusion, with a need to look at people and situations realistically.

Pluto remains in Capricorn for quite a few years, so is a very long term influence, showing knowledge gradually acquired on deeper levels, with balance, & realistic ways of recycling & developing our intuitive knowledge further, to use practically. Pluto travels Retrograde until late September, with a relentless search for inner truth, furthering our self knowledge approached the right way.

Venus and Jupiter inconjunct Neptune and Pluto – Deeper inspiration but maybe problems expressing related skills. Some distortion arises at times between intellect and emotions. A need to make significant adjustments to justify personal knowledge at times.

Mars and Saturn conjunct – Constructive use of mental and physical energy can be very productive.
