The Essene Holy Communion For SUNDAY

Angel of Earth / Angel of Creative Work

Evening and morning and at noonday I will pray; and He shall hear my voice.  ~Psalms 55:15
 —————————————————————–
SEASONAL FOCUS:   Flowers announce the promise of fruition.
The Angel of Earth – Sunday Morning.
The purpose of this Communion was to transform the generative powers in life into the regeneration of the human body.

THE PHYSICAL COMMUNION:   This day is devoted to tending the Earth. In the spirit of regeneration, healing and abundance, focus on creative work out-of-doors or in the garden. As stewards of the Earth, understand how things grow and how we are nourished by the life force of plants. Tend to gardens, plants, flowers and trees. Don’t create “waste” or garbage. Recycle everything.

THE DEEPENING:  Spend time out-doors. Hold in your hands a stone, or a piece of wood. Explore it intently. Know that this Earth and all that dwells therein is but a divine reflection of Holy Law.
 —————————————————————–
MORNING COMMUNION:   Angel of EARTH I invoke thee; for the Lord hath created this world to be a garden, where the magic of herbs and the secrets of plants – nourish and heal the bodies of men. As I regenerate my body, I regenerate my soul, and as each morning comes, I shall embrace thee.
MEDITATION:  I feel my body become one with the earth. From the richness of the soil springs the fruits that you share and thy stones have become my bones. Yea, I too am the rock. My spirit belongs to that which was kindled in the beginning of times. Bring that consciousness back to me now.
NOON CONTEMPLATION OF PEACE:   Peace with the BODY:   As thou movest the air with thy breath, movest thy body with thy soul. Eat only from the garden of thy Earthly Mother, and walk always in the light of the Holy Law; for he who hath found peace with the body, hath built a Holy temple, wherein may forever dwell the spirit of God.
—–
The Angel of Creative Work – Sunday Evening
The purpose of this Communion was to teach the importance of creative work and its paramount role in the individual’s spiritual evolution.
EVENING COMMUNION:   Angel of CREATIVE WORK I invoke thee; for he who walks with the Angel of work has within him a field always fertile, where healing herbs and beautiful flowers blossom and grow. The mind that is idle is full of the weeds of discontentment, but he who has found his task shall not be in want of other blessings. And as each evening comes, I shall embrace thee.
THE BLESSING:  The table of my house is abundantly full, and I have much to share. I joyfully gather the fruits of my labors, and I work with the talents I have. In the labor of right livelihood, I find the greatest joys of life, and my cupboard overflows with its blessings.
 —————————————————————–
To lift your eyes to heaven when all men’s eyes are on the ground, is not easy. To worship at the feet of the angels when all men worship only fame and riches, is not easy. But the most difficult of all is to think the thoughts of the angels, to speak the words of the angels, and to do as the angels do.  ~ Gospel of the Essenes

Peace be with you.

Aloha In Action

Image

What can you do when your blessings feel so abundant you don’t know how they are all going to fit into your heart? Go into the world, provide comfort, live for people.

Who can you help today? Who can you smile at at the farmer’s markets, or be extra kind to at the bank? For the people you know and don’t know … do something special to let them know there is goodness in the world today, because there is goodness out there (and if you have forgotten that, then just by reminding others, you will remember.)

REIKI BOX ~ Healing Petitions and Requests

Giving Back With Aloha

Modern/American Reiki (also known as Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki) is now taught in American medical schools and nursing schools on the East Coast as a positive alternative healing modality support to allopathic medicine. The Art of Reiki is not new to the science of healing. Reiki is ancient esoteric knowledge forgotten by many practitioners and enjoying a revival of interest today. One of the amazing rewards of performing Reiki — energywork — is the ability to work inter-dimensionally, where time, place and distance are minimalized variables.

Our Usui Reiki/Level 2 practitioners and above train to master the ability to send healing energies long-distance, i.e., at least within a 100-mile radius from their physical location. With practice, Practitioners enlarge that transmission distance globally. Our Reiki Master-Teachers/Levels 3-4 are able to transmit healing energies in the form of Chi Balls and Waves across continents. Our Grandmasters reach farther still to heal for the highest good of all, as they focus on the greater societal issues and electromagnetic fluctuations affecting the Planet.

We distribute a current PDF list of people, pets and places identified by Halau members, family and their friends that would immediately benefit from receiving our collective healing energies.

To all Halau Reiki practitioners — please include The Halau’s petitioners in your Reiki Boxes.  The Halau will be sending energies regularly to persons whose names appear on this list.

Ha’awina ‘Elua – Lesson Two

‘Aia i ka ‘olelo no ke ‘ola … ‘aia i ka ‘olelo no ka make
Words are either life-nurturing or death-dealing.

You speak while you exhale, which is immediately followed by taking a breath.  Therefore, if you don’t want to eat, that is, take into yourself negative thoughts/words, don’t utter them!

Ha’awina ‘Ekolu – Lesson Three

The Aloha Spirit is unconditional caring.  Compassion.  Hospitality.  It is our thoughts, empowered by a coherent (Aloha) Heart, that are thousands of times more powerful than thoughts energized by an incoherent heart.  It’s not about marching in the streets, writing lots of books, or making lots of money to influence the world.

Energize your thoughts with a coherent Heart and your perceptions brighten with Light.

Temper your intellect with compassion, develop your Mind from your Heart and you change your world and everything around you for the better.

Ha’awina ‘Eha – Lesson Four

Living Aloha means we always consider the other person and try to put ourselves in their shoes and understand life from their perspective, whether things go our way, or not.  This core idea of interpersonal communication defines the Hawaiian concept of LOKAHI (unity), where Lokahi is vital in the daily formula of harmonious community living … that ideal state called PONO.  We teach the Hawaiian way of maintaining harmony through coherent daily living.  Thus, Ho’oponopono is the ancient ritual essential to healing unbalanced relations with Aloha Spirit — through Acceptance, we achieve Unity as One.

Aloha Spirit Is About Acceptance

IKE
KALA
MAKIA MANAWA
ALOHA MANA
PONO

One of the most respected living Kupuna/Elder in Hawai’i Nei is Aunty Mahealani Kuamo’o-Henry, Kumu ‘Elele o Na Kupuna. According to Aunty, and contrary to Off-Island (mis)interpretation, the Hawaiian word ho’oponopono means Acceptance … not the New Age rubbish of “I’m sorry, please forgive me, I love you, thank you.”

In Acceptance, you Surrender by releasing the grip that is your Ego and make no judgments because All Are One. This is the message brought to us through Ka Lei Aloha I Na Kupuna … our beloved teachers of The Way … what we at The Halau know to be the Way of Aloha Spirit.

The Kupuna elders taught that when the heart and mind work together, we LIVE ALOHA. Knowledge and wisdom are found in ALOHA. Aloha starts within ourselves. The key to aloha is to apply it in your heart, then your mind and finally BE Aloha. These are the defining traits of character that express the charm, warmth and sincerity that are the People of Hawai’i. It is this working philosophy that has been presented as a gift to the people of our world. As you will come to know walking with The Halau here, Aloha is more than just a Word. It is the very Heart of Who We Are.

Dylan Thomas, poet ~ “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” (1951)

Image

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Impermanence, The Great Existential Bummer

How do you feel when you look at your boyfriend, your wife, your children, your dog? Do you thank god for the joy they bring and treasure every moment with them, or are you a bit sad because you know one day you will lose them forever? Jason Silva asks us to contemplate the fact that everyone, everything, everywhere ends, and to choose how we would like to respond to that fact.

HEALTH ~ Drink Water On An Empty Stomach

Image

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases

METHOD OF TREATMENT

1.  As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water

2.  Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute

3.  After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4.  After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours

5.  Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6.  The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:

1.  High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2.  Gastric (10 days)
3.  Diabetes (30 days)
4.  Constipation (10 days)
5.  Cancer (180 days)
6.  TB (90 days)
7.  Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life.

Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.

This makes sense.  The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!!  Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

For those who like to drink cold water, the following information is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this ‘sludge’ reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.  Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:

• Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
• Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
• You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
• Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
• 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
• Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this information sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we’ll save at least one life.  Please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about today.

HEALTH ~ Turmeric Superior to Chemical Mouthwash In Improving Oral Health

Since ancient times, turmeric has been used for remedying oral ailments, among other therapeutic applications too numerous to count.[1] Consider that plants like turmeric were first eaten for thousands of years before our species ever devised the modern day oddity of encapsulated or tableted extracts that could be swallowed without significant oral contact.  It is only logical, therefore, that after long stretches of biological time, taking the root orally as either food, spice or medicine, it would agree with and have benefit for that part of our anatomy and its unique physiology.

Indeed, recent research shows that turmeric extract and turmeric oil may even reverse precancerous changes in oral submucous fibrosis in humans.[2] [3]  In addition, there are at least a dozen studies showing turmeric extract can kill oral cancer cells,[4] including a recent study showing that turmeric extract-loaded nanoparticles kill chemotherapy-resistant oral cancer cells.[5] But turmeric’s positive role to play in oral health encompasses more than relatively rare health issues like oral cancer, as it also has tangible value to the vast majority of folks who use common mouthwash in an attempt to keep their mouth clean of plaque.

Turmeric contains approximately 3-4% curcumin by dry weight. This yellow pigmented polyphenol has been studied extensively in human clinical research as a natural alternative to the common mouthwash ingredient known as chlorhexidine for the treatment of gingivitis, “inflammation of the gum tissue.”

Gingivitis is classified as a non-destructive periodontal disease,[6] and involves bacterial plaque-induced inflammation, but if left untreated, it can progress to a form of periodontal disease that can be highly destructive. Some of the most common symptoms associated with gingivitis are bad breath (halitosis), and bleeding, bright, tender or swollen gums.

Chlorexidine, while considered the gold standard in dentistry for the prevention of dental plaque,[7] was flagged in 2012 in a patient safety alert issued by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), due to its potential to induce anaphylactic reactions.[8] While chlorexidine-induced analaphylaxis is an exceedingly rare reaction, low level exposure has been confirmed in numerous scientific studies to cause a variety of complications.[9] [10] [11] Clearly, safer alternatives are needed and especially if they can be shown to be more effective.

Turmeric Mouthwash Shown Superior to Chlorexidine

Turmeric Mouthwash Shown Superior to Chlorexidine

In 2012, a study published in the Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology compared the efficacy of a .1% curcumin extract mouthwash + .01% eugenol (Group A) to a more strongly concentrated .2% chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash (Group B), in subjects with mild to moderate gingivitis. Both Group A and Group B consisted of 30 subjects who were advised to use 10 ml of mouthwash with equal dilution of water for 1 min twice a day 30 min after brushing.  They were then tracked for plaque and gingival changes at day 0, day 14h and day 21. Both their direct experience (subjective) and objective criteria were assessed at days 14 and 21.

The results were as follows:

On comparison between chlorhexidine and turmeric mouthwash, percentage reduction of the Plaque Index between 0 and 21 st day were 64.207 and 69.072, respectively (P=0.112), percentage reduction of Gingival Index between 0 and 21st day were 61.150 and 62.545 respectively (P=0.595) and percentage reduction of BAPNA [The N-benzoyl-l-arginine-p- nitroanilide assay; a measurement of pathogenic bacterial activity] values between 0 and 21st day were 42.256 and 48.901 respectively (P=0.142). [emphasis added]

In all three objective parameters tested, turmeric extract was at least as effective as chlorhexidine mouthwash at improving the patient’s oral health. However, technically, the curcumin formulation beat out the chemical mouthwash in all 3 measurements, and at only one-half the concentration.

Also, subjective evaluations showed that the turmeric mouthwash was better received by the subjects.

In the characteristically conservative style of academia, the author’s concluded:

“Chlorhexidine gluconate as well as turmeric mouthwash can be effectively used as an adjunct to mechanical plaque control in prevention of plaque and gingivitis. Both the mouthwashes have comparable anti-plaque, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.”

Additional human clinical research has confirmed curcumin’s effectiveness as a chlorexidine alternative in reducing plaque,[12] as well as reducing plaque-associated gum inflammation.[13]

One of the major differences with a turmeric (curcumin)-based mouthwash is that if one happened to swallow some, it would not result in the type of adverse effects associated with a biocidal/antiseptic chemical such as chlorhexidine. In fact, given the broad range of documented health benefits of turmeric, it would actually provide some side benefit, were this to happen.

Ultimately, the choice is yours. But remember, always exert caution when embarking on any new dietary and/or supplement change, and do so under the guidance of a trained professional such as a medical herbalist or integrative physician. And remember, the quality of the herb will depend on whether it was organically produced (non-irradiated), well-handled and preserved in order to eliminate mycotoxins and related microbial contaminants.

Buddha ~ A Knotty Situation

Image

One day Buddha came into his assembly of the monks. It must have been just a morning like this. His sannyasins were sitting and waiting for him. They were puzzled because this was for the first time that Buddha had come with something in his hand – a handkerchief. They all looked at the handkerchief What was the matter? There must be something special in it. And Buddha sat on the platform and rather than starting speaking to the assembly he looked at the handkerchief, started tying a few knots in it, five knots in all. The whole assembly watched – what is going on?

And then he asked the assembly, “Can anybody tell me: is this handkerchief the same as it was before the knots were tied?”
Sariputta said, “This is a tricky question. In a way the handkerchief is the same because nothing has changed, in a way it is not the same because these five knots have appeared which were not there before. But as far as the inner nature of the handkerchief is concerned – its nature is concerned – it is the same; but as far as its form is concerned it is no more the same. The form has changed: the substance is the same.”

Buddha said, “Right. Now I want to open these knots.” And he started stretching both ends of the handkerchief farther away from each other. He asked Sariputta. “What do you think? By stretching farther will I be able to open the knots?”

He said, “You will be making knots even more difficult to open because they will become smaller, more tighter.”

Buddha said, “Right. Then I want to ask the last question: what should I do so that I can open the knots, the tied knots? How I can untie them again?”

Sariputta said, “Bhagwan, I would like first to come close and see how in the first place the knots have been tied. Unless I know how they have been tied it is difficult for me to suggest any solution.”

Buddha said, “Right, Sariputta. You are blessed, because that is the most fundamental question to ask. If you are in a certain fix, the first thing is how you got into it rather than trying to get out of it. Without asking the most fundamental and the primary question, you will make things worse.”

Buddha’s whole approach is, first see how you get into trouble. If you can see the entrance, the same door is the exit; no other door is needed. But without knowing the entrance if you try to find out the exit you are not going to find; you will get more and more desperate. And that’s what people go on doing.

The Dhammapada: The Buddha’s Path of Wisdom,
translated from the Pali by Acharya Buddharakkhita

RECIPE ~ Cauliflower Risotto (It’s Paleo!)

Image

Ingredients

  • 2 medium beetroot, cut into chunks
  • 2 tsp. olive or coconut oil
  • ½ head cauliflower
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 small brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ¼ cup white wine, optional
  • ¼ vegetable stock (or stock of your choice)
  • ½ cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup finely grated Parmesan (optional)
  • 1 cup arugula leaves
  • flaked Parmesan and cracked black pepper, to serve

Directions

Preheat oven to 200 C (about 400 Fahrenheit).

Toss beetroot in oil. Place on a baking tray and roast for 30-40 minutes until tender.

Meanwhile, grate the cauliflower on the larger side of a cheese grater, or pulse in a food processor until it’s rice sized. Wrap the riced cauliflower in a couple of paper towels and squeeze to remove any excess moisture.

Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook stirring for 5 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for a further 2 minutes.

Add wine and bring to boil. Add cauliflower rice and stock. Cook until liquid is almost absorbed. Add beetroot chunks. Cook until heated through.

Remove from heat.

Stir through walnuts, Parmesan and rocket.

Divide between a plate and a lunchbox. Serve with flaked Parmesan and cracked black pepper.

STUDENT GUIDELINES

What We Teach

Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila’s curriculum is grounded in the learning of our basic Reiki healing. In our rigorous Level 1class, you will learn how to visualize and manifest basic healing results in the Halau’s style, as well as the healing terminology that goes with it. In our Level 2 class and above, you will learn intermediate Reiki scanning techniques and will be introduced to the three major symbols involved in basic Reiki, in concert with an introduction to crystals and grid work. Knowledge of the Hawaiian and Japanese languages is not mandatory for enrollment in The Halau; however, during the course of your studies, it will be necessary for you to learn to sing or chant (kotodama) the sounds assigned to specific energies and ritual evocations.

Performance skills are incorporated into the teaching, and your training will be based on helping you develop into a skilled Healing Practitioner.  Performing healings is an essential aspect of our curriculum:  they provide the means by which we achieve our mandate as an educational institution.  However, there is never any guarantee that as a Halau student you will be included in any healing session.  Participation in healings is based upon need and skills as determined by the Instructor.

Be advised that preparation for a ritual healing session may require changes in the class schedule, including temporary cessation of regular classes.

Class Representatives (Group Classes only)

Each class has a representative who will provide students with information regarding upcoming events and performances. Be sure that you introduce yourself to your class rep, and that they have a way in which to get in contact with you (e-mail and telephone, as well as address). It is your responsibility to regularly check your e-mail or the AHA website for updated class and event information.

How We Behave

The origins of energy healing are lost in the distant past. The ways in which Reiki is taught and lived have changed dramatically over the years; the ways in which traditional Japanese Reiki is taught differs radically from the American Reiki techniques Mrs. Takata brought to the Western world, viz., the Hawaiian islands. Despite those changes, there are still rules of behavior that govern how we are to behave in the Halau, in our classes, and towards our kumu la’au lapa’au and their kokua (assistants). Following are the formal Policies and Procedures of Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila:

Non-Discrimination Policy

Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Halau. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, employment, and other Halau administered programs.

Personal Behavior Policies

Personal hygiene and grooming are very important in metaphysical practice.  All garments should be clean.  It is recommended that you take a ritual bath prior to attending class or receiving an attunement.

Attire for attendance in all classes is the Halau uniform:   royal blue T-shirts for both kane (male) and wahine (female).  Kane and Wahine practitioners recommended to wear white loose-fitting shorts or pants.  Master-Teachers may wear sky blue robes.  Grandmasters shall wear royal blue robes.

Kane (men) and Wahine (women) with long hair must have their hair up neatly in a bun, pulled back or braided.

Please be courteous to the class. If you are running late, are ill, or intend to not attend class, please inform your class representative before class starts.

If you have plans and know in advance that you are going to miss a class, it is your responsibility to find out what was taught when you come to the next class, and to then learn it.

You may ask questions, but please do not disrupt the class. Ask at an appropriate moment, preferably during a break.

If you visit on-site with an interest to join Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila, we welcome you to sit and observe one class.  If you return the following week to observe again, you will be considered a walk-in, and will be required to pay the $25.00 walk-in session fee.

Parents of students are welcome to stay and watch. If young siblings or other family members are brought to class, we do ask that they sit quietly and watch without disrupting the class.

In addition to the formal Policies above, there are also important halau protocol which every Practitioner should know of and observe:
Always show respect to your instructors and kokua (assistants).  Instructors may be addressed by the acceptable honorific or title of “Uncle” or “Auntie”, however, Off-Island students might prefer to communicate with instructors on a first-name basis or by title, as indicated by the instructor.

At the beginning of class, if there is time, all students should help clean the Halau by vacuuming the floor, preparing the Temple area and making sure everything is clean and tidy. At the end of class, all students should help to close the Halau by clearing away leftover water bottles and trash. Restroom trash containers should be emptied at the end of each class.

When your Kumu is speaking or showing an example, please keep quiet and pay attention. Listen and learn from what is being said or demonstrated. You will benefit from paying attention.

Think before asking questions. Use your own eyes and ears first; learn by observing. Learn and practice what you are taught so that you can keep up with your class.  You are expected to memorize kotodama, symbols and new vocabulary by your next class.

Always take off your shoes before you enter the heart of the Halau (it’s OK to leave shoes just inside the doorway). When you go outside, put your shoes on so that you don’t bring dirt back into the Halau.

Beepers and cell phones should be turned off unless you are expecting an emergency call (if so, please explain to the kokua before class).

Handle your practitioner attire with respect: Robes and Halau uniform are considered to be sacred garments, and should not be treated casually or carelessly.

As you continue your training, you will often hear the phrase, “ai ha‘a,” which literally means, “bend down” or “go lower.” However, “ai ha‘a” also means to “be humble,” which is a trademark of healing and an important precept defining “Aloha”. Please remember to always respect your “Healer elders,” which means not only your teachers and their assistants, but also your practitioner sisters and brothers who have more experience in this Halau than you do.

Kauila

When you join a new class, show respect for your classmates by remaining at the back of the class. The front row positions belong to the more experienced practitioners; wait to take a front row position until you are asked to by an assistant or your Instructor.
If you visit a class that is not your own (for example, to review your basics), remain in the back of the class. Keep in mind that you are a guest when you are not in your own class.

Try to remember to ask the kokua to help you, and not your classmates. It is the responsibility of the kokua to help you, and they will be sure to show you the correct movements.

All students/haumana start in the Basics class and will be placed in an appropriate class based on skill level as determined by the Instructor.  Please be aware that ongoing attendance is necessary to be successful in any class, as techniques are learned in progression.
It is not appropriate to share what is learned at Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila with non-Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila members, including answering questions about practitioner technique, without permission.

And just a few final points to remember:

The Halau is not a playground; children should be discouraged from running, yelling, or playing inside the Halau.

Practice, practice, practice! Some people find it helpful to (audio) record the class so that they can practice at home; others make note of steps and choreography. Whatever you need to help you learn is recommended. Practice is fundamental: as Kumu Lana will tell you, “If you only practice a couple of hours a week, you will practice like a ‘couple-of-hours-a-week’ healer.” Keep in mind your reasons for wanting to learn Healing, and apply those reasons as part of the discipline of learning.

Lastly, if you eventually decide that Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila is not for you, please continue to show your respect for the Halau and its Instructors:  (1) let your Instructor know you have decided to leave and why; (2) let your Instructor know where you intend to go, and if you choose to study at another school; (3) please let your new Instructor know where you’ve been studying and why you left.

Mahalo nui loa … thank you very much … for reading through Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila’s Student Guidelines.

We hope you will find them helpful, and we hope you enjoy being a student of Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila!

Usui System of Natural Healing

Image

One of the primary energyworking modalities The Halau at ‘Aha Hui Lanakila, Inc., teaches is Usui Teate Reiki (original knowledge Japanese Reiki/Gakkai system) and Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki (American Reiki/Takata system) and its progeny energies. And, if you’ve wondered, “What is Reiki?” you’re not alone!

There has been a great deal of debate about exactly what Reiki is. Most practitioners agree that it is a form of life/healing energy, but beyond that the various schools differ, with some being much more esoteric than others. The word itself can be broken down into the component parts of “Rei” (pronounced ‘ray’) and “Ki” (pronounced ‘key’).
The Japanese language has many different levels of meaning within it. Some levels are very basic while others are highly esoteric. “Rei” literally means spirit, ghost, soul, in the heavens or of spirits; but also denotes universal energy. “Ki” also means spirit and, some argue, is essentially the Japanese equivalent of the Chinese description of “Chi”, which means life force energy. The word Reiki, therefore, can be taken to refer to a balanced universal life force energy.

Because of its unique qualities Reiki seems to have a basic consciousness which, when used for healing, is able to provide exactly what is needed on all levels.
The Halau offers instruction and training in original knowledge Usui Teate Reiki from Basic through 18th Dan Reiki Grandmaster.  The Halau also offers four levels of instruction and training in American Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki), Basics through Level 4 Reiki Master-Teacher.  On-site live classes as well as correspondence training via Skype or Google+ Hangout weekly sessions are available.
GROUPS OR INDIVIDUALS ONLINE
Our classes explore Dr. Usui’s Japanese healing system called Usui Teate (“healing hand”) Reiki. Students receive grade materials on CD-ROM and handouts at class meetings as needed. (Skype students receive PDF files of the grade materials via email or Skype file transfer.)  Weekly one-on-one and group mentoring classes span three hours and are tailored to each student’s specific learning needs; monthly tuition rates apply.
ALL PRACTITIONERS WELCOME
The Halau is a proud member of the International Natural Healers Association (INHA).  No previous Reiki experience necessary.  Students with previous Reiki training who wish to train with our Halau must bring proof of certification to their first class meeting.  (Skype students email their PDF certificate(s), if applicable, prior to first session.)
TO PARTICIPATE
Upon receipt of your initiation fees, you will be required to receive the appropriate Reiki attunements and Reiju empowerments prior to commencement of your regular training classes.  Attunements are charged separately from regular training classes.   Once attuned, you may attend class via Skype, provided:  (1) your laptop/PC has mic/videocam capability (headsets are advisable); (2) you pre-pay your tuition via PayPal prior to commencement of the first class session.
Non-Discriminatory Policy
Halau ‘Aha Hui Lanakila (“The Halau”) admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at The Halau.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, employment, and other Halau administered programs.

Sanctuarium Ordinis Melchisedech

Image

Everyone is from the Melchizedek consciousness, ultimately.  It is the direct connection and source to God.  But please understand, this does not mean that what these men have to offer humanity is not worthy or important. You must make that decision.  All of the Melchizedeks on Earth work through the ALPHA ET OMEGA, ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK, the First Order of the Great White Brotherhood of Light. And, to clarify the word “Brotherhood”, there are both male and female members.  Gender has nothing to do with this work. There are 72 orders in the GWB, including the Priesthood.   — Drunvalo Melchizedek

The Halau is a Sanctuary for the Alpha et Omega Order of Melchizedek’s Priesthood.  We are not affiliated with any organized religious community or group.  We are a Mystery School of Priests that teach about enlightenment and Sophian Gnosis.  We celebrate your commitment to expanding your spiritual consciousness as expressed through Service to others.  This is key.
Despite what people say about Gnostics they are pre-Christian and it isn’t a religion, it is a way of life – that of seeking knowledge and wisdom, which leads to spiritual enlightenment or illumination. When you are enlightened, you can see the big picture, you can see the connection in all things and you realise that all spiritual paths lead to the same place. So some people don’t call themselves a ‘Gnostic’ until after they have reached enlightenment.
There were Gnostics about before the age of Pisces (the fisher King & Queen – Christianity), before the age of Aries (the ram – Jewish religion), before the age of Taurus (Holy bull or cow worship – Minoan, Hindu, Egypt), before the age of Gemini (Twins – Sumer twins Enki and Enlil). They are the holders of the secrets from the underground stream.
Because we are now entering the age of Aquarius, the age of enlightenment, many more hidden (occult) truths are being revealed to the general population than ever before. Aquarius is represented by a man or woman with a pitcher, pouring out water on to the world from the heavens. That water represents enlightenment.
For every age something new is worshipped by the general population. Religions are built up around these things because humans generally have always needed to be guided to live life happily, because we know about death. Animals don’t know they are going to die, so they don’t worry about it. But because humans became conscious of this, as the neo-cortex expanded, it led to them spending their whole life worrying about it. To make people get on with their life in peace they were told stories and myths, things that would reassure them that if they led a good and noble life, they would go to somewhere wonderful when they left this place. Or that if they behaved like animals, they would be reincarnated as an animal. This worked on many levels. It kept people happy, it kept them from fearing death and it made them be good people through fear that if they did bad things they would be punished for it in the afterlife, or come back as a slug or something.
At the end of every astrological age there is the time of upheaval and upset. Many are starting to reject the old ways that they have always been taught, and are looking for something new. This is when the new age comes in and the old deity is symbolically killed, so the new deity can take over. This is why Moses told the people to slaughter the golden calf, as bull and cow worship was to end, and the new age of Aries was to be brought in. At the end of each age of course, there will always be those who try to cling on to the past and are scared to move forward. This is why all the old religions are still about for us all to see, those religions are stuck in the old ages and the people never learnt how to evolve from those old teachings and move on.
The same will happen at the end of this age. Those still following Christianity will refuse to let go of the old ways and move forwards towards Aquarius and the new ways of enlightenment. In the new age those who accept it will be able to see all of this above as truth, they will realise that all the religions were created for each age, and they will accept responsibility for themselves and their own actions, without the need of an authority figure or deity to tell them what to do. They will become their own Priest or Priestess. They will connect to their own Higher Self in the new coming age. They will gladly seek out Gnosis and Sophia (wisdom) and will enjoy learning and helping others.
In the past all through ancient times, only a selected few were given this Gnosis and these teachings. Everyone else was expected to follow the teachings of that age, and never become enlightened themselves. Sometimes this was because they didn’t have the Will or intelligence to know any different, or because the Mystery School was taken over by people who wanted to use Gnosis to control others and gain power for themselves. For having a little of this knowledge can lead to problems … For instance, if someone was to join a Mystery School, learn a few things, then decide they don’t want to learn anymore, all they want to do is take what they do know and control others with it … then, they go along and create a cult, give people a bit of knowledge, but because they haven’t connected to their own Higher Self. All they do is create more confused people in the world, and more power hungry control freaks, who will twist the truth to get what they want. The Roman Catholic Church illustrates this point:  while retaining much of the Knowledge about the Gnosis of all things, it chose to use the Knowledge for pecuniary gain, instead of sharing it with all the people who have not connected to their High Selves. The Church chose instead to demonise any ideas or teachings that could enlighten people.
The Sanctuarium is bringing the esoteric truth to the mainstream, as holders of the secret knowledge of the ages, we celebrate each age and each Aeon. We also do something special that helps bring in the new age and celebrate that the new age will be about enlightenment for all, which will, in turn, create balance, equality and, finally, illumine the truth to all.
Q:  Is what you teach the same as the new age movement?
A:  Yes and no. A lot of people have a few pieces of the puzzle, they have taken bits and pieces from all over the place, but not many have found the full truth. Some believe they are teaching the full truth while others know they are selling lies. Many like to make money out of spirituality and they know that the truth doesn’t sell, so they make up stories. The only thing you have to remember on your journey as you seek out the truth is that it can only truly be found within.  Anyone who guides you by any other understanding is guiding you the wrong way.
We facilitate your communion, with Mother Gaia and all sentient beings by training you to enhance your harmonic Resonance through focused work on your personal Alchemy, initiation into the Halls of Amenti, and introduction to the esoteric teachings.
We can assist you in remembering areas of knowledge, such as self-healing, Merkaba mechanics and multidimensional travel. BE  beyond the Fifth Dimension!  Exciting prospects abound, if you dare to Free Your Mind, Be Bold and Expand the horizons of Your Consciousness.
Our seven-level Seminary Program is for serious Practitioners of the Light dedicated to Service To Others viz., self-responsibility for expansion of one’s spirituality, as propagated through the guiding teachings of Lord Machiventa Melchizedek and The Urantia Book.  Correspondence students actively participate in weekly One-on-One mentorship meetings via Skype and Google+ Hangout.  Local member-students meet weekly at our physical location.

El Morya ~ The Final Chapter

Image

This letter spontaneously appeared as an unsigned typewritten letter amongst David Crawford’s personal papers just at the moment of his departure from New Mexico for California.

We believe it is a spiritual message from Ascended Master El Morya intended as our compass in these, the latter days of our Journey on The Path together.  Peace be with you all.

You have made a magnificent journey.

As you’ve listened to these words … as you’ve looked at ancient mysteries, the insights of the metaphysical realm and the laws of Quantum Physics … looked at your own personal experiences, you come now to the Final Chapter.

It is the final chapter of this book, but also the final chapter of Life and its multitude of experiences. What lies beyond this moment in Time? Look into this moment, where you exist now, where you are experiencing life … it’s joy, its sorrows, its disappointments, its frustrations, its passions, its tears and its laughter … contemplating all that is beyond here, all that is here and all that has been … Look into the moment of NOW.

You are listening to these words. Perhaps they say things you already know, truths you have already gained … and they have not told you anything you didn’t know somewhere inside yourself.

Now, move beyond these words.

You can see the greater truth unfold for the future … for a battle rages during this time in Life. It is an ancient battle where fear and greed fight love and hope. There is only one outcome and it is beyond this moment of Now. No matter what course mankind takes, we will eventually move out of this realm.

Following the path of fear and greed, the apocalypse of natural disasters, war and famine looms large. Yet, this apocalypse will force mankind to find a higher way. Following the path of Love, the same inevitable end comes … but through a different way: through a loving, gentle way … Man passes into the millennium, which prepares those for eternity.

Through your personal experiences of love, you learn of your eternal home. Moving through life, you learn the deep understanding that you are loved by your Father; that you are loved eternally. Within that understanding is a reward of love, hope, comfort and security.

Within the consciousness of fear and greed, you feel unworthy, undeserving … that you have not done enough. You cannot accept yourself. You struggle to gain through the illusion of what is waiting for you in eternity. And in that struggle, love and hope elude you. From fear and greed, you offer a kind of superficial love: Duty and Labor.

Even with the knowledge and ability to cause mountains to be moved, and having infinite knowledge of all things … you still do not have what you seek. You miss it. You do not realize that the necessary offering is the true offering of the heart shining through your motive, not your intent and deeds.

When the offering is from the heart, perception and judgment are not clouded and truth gives manifestation to your motive. You then learn that to love others is to understand and accept their ability to receive love, to accept their sense of perception and interpretation of love as precious, unique and a part of their eternal identity. You offer your love, expanding it to encompass the perception that each unique individual has.

It does not mean that you agree or disagree, or you respond or don’t respond with them.

Unfolding from that sense of loving and being loved, in that atmosphere of hope and comfort will be a 1,000-year reign. The spirit of mankind emerges from life to a much higher, greater sense of man’s own being … that which man will be in eternity.

You have come to the final chapter. You are loved with the total love of your Creator. If you are not conscious of that love, take comfort: by all that is True, you are loved.

Your expression of love may be fraught with every imaginable curse of psychology or personal debauchery, fear, hatred or anger. Your fear and your anger exist because you don’t feel that love surrounds you. You hate because you think that what you really want is not given.

But, love is always with you. You are loved in a unique way. Take comfort from these words.

You that do not know the deep comfort of the truth of love itself, of its creation … of this reality in life. You that only know the bitterness of the physical, emotional and spiritual pain that you feel in this reality.

Know the hope that this pain comes to an end. It comes to and end and is completed. The eternal truth, the truth that gave this creation reality, you will appreciate more than others whose path is not as difficult as yours. Your reward will be great in the love and richness you will experience. A love designed uniquely for you, awaiting you at a moment in the future.

Allow yourself to unfold and allow it to unfold for you.

Allow the truth of your eternal identity to unfold within your consciousness. You are an eternal being, an eternal entity, embodied in flesh … but you are not limited by life and the constrictions of that body. You are eternal, and you shall find love, joy and happiness that is unique to you.

You will feel love as an infant within the womb. You will feel love as a child that goes through the pain of birth and feels life for the first time. You will feel love from nurturing arms. You will feel love of family, friends and loved ones caring for you. You will feel the liberty to express love, and the liberty to receive it.

How will this moment of emergence come for you?

Will it be through understanding the quantum physics that bind all the forces together … or, through seeing the eternal reality itself as the greatest example?

Will it be through understanding that you express the Divine Formula in your deepest desire to love and be loved?

Will it be through your realization that you desire to be loved by others as you truly are, rather than through trying to be what you think others want you to be?

Will it be from your acceptance of the truth preparing the pathway of your consciousness to enter into eternity into the great spectrum of reality beyond this life?

Will it be from your acceptance that this earthly life is an illusion and the dream?

No matter what your path is, the reality of love and its eternal sense will bring us to a place where we can greet one another with love that is unconditional and non-judgmental, revealing the profound beauty in each aspect and action of every individual.

We will experience that same love for ourselves and know that it is the same love God has for each, as you, His precious child. This is the gift you wear as the mantle as you ascend into the Presence.

At this final chapter in the school of our lives on this planet look deeply into what all of this means to you here in the present and to the physical consciousness of mankind.

Two roads are parting, both coming to the same end. One is Fear and Greed, reaping as much as it can gather for itself with no regard for anything else. You can see how we have traveled on this very road in what we have experienced in our own lives … how it has brought us here. It has brought us here as much as the Love and Hope we have experienced. We’re just sharing a small dream about what it is like to be in the body of an animal … to feel the pain, the heartache and the pleasure … to have victory and defeat … to have hope, passion, desire and anguish. We are dreaming of life at the level of Light where it slows to a place called Earth … GAIA …

And when you awaken you will remember you were here walking down that pathway finding in your dream our true character.

The master of this insight, the worker, or the Enlightened One has always laid down his life for God to help him guide the lives of others into Truth, Light and Love, maintaining God’s covenant with Man. The masters have served mankind continuously. Their numbers are great.

It may be that you stand within that group yourself, even unaware. For those of you who do stand within this midst … within these Temples … within your private lives … standing alone within the Light of Truth and Love in whatever you do in your service to Him is what you do to others.

You may be called from this life experience at any moment, so that the Divine Formula can unfold. The prophecies have proclaimed it and the Time approaches when a new and unique pattern is formed for this human race. The subatomic universe is the same as the cosmic galaxies of the stars. It is the same fractal pattern. The future of mankind unfolds naturally, as it unfolds in everyone’s life … in YOUR life. Mankind’s battle is the same battle as yours: the battle of Love and Hope versus Fear and Greed.

To experience the struggle is the Prize. It is simply the way that it is. It is based in the Hope of Mankind to love and be loved. It is your hope to love and be loved. This is man’s deepest desire and your deepest desire. Its manifestation is within the spectrum of perception and is unique to each individual unique to you.

The pattern you manifest is just as true and real to all as it is to you. What can you do to change the course of events for yourself? What can you do to change the course of events for Mankind?

Simply open your heart to love and be loved … to God’s unconditional non-judgmental love.

If it is a smile … if it is a kind word for another … if it is that unselfish charitable act, which you simply do spontaneously … It is the greatest victory you can give to your brothers and sisters. It is the greatest triumph throughout Eternity.

For in your dream of life, you were loving …

In your dream of life, you learned that you were … you just were.

In your dream of life, you discovered the Truth and lived the final chapter.

In your dream of life, you awakened and found the way Home.

Rumi ~ The Inner Garment of Love

Image

That spirit which does not wear
the inner garment of love
should never have been.
Its being is just shame.

Be drunken with Love,
For Love is all that exists.
Where is intimacy found,
If not in the give and take of Love?

If they ask what Love is,
Say, ‘the sacrifice of will.
If you have not left will behind,
You will have no will at all.’

The lover is a king of kings
With both worlds beneath him;
And a king does not regard
What lies at his feet.

Only Love and the lover
Can resurrect beyond time.
Give your heart to this –
The rest is second hand.

How long will you embrace
A lifeless beloved?
Embrace that entity
To which nothing can cling.

What sprouts up every spring
Will wither by autumn,
But the rose-garden of Love
Needs no special season.

Both the rose and the thorn
Appear together in spring,
And the wine of the grape
Is not without its headaches.

Do not be an impatient
Bystander on this path –
By God there is no death
Worse than expectancy.

Set your heart on hard cash
If you are not counterfeit,
And listen to my advice
If you are not a slave:

Don’t falter on the horse
Of the body – go lighter on foot.
God gives wings to those
Who are not content to ride an ass.

Let go of your worries
And be completely clear hearted,
Like the face of a mirror
That contains no images.

When it is empty of forms,
All forms are contained in it.
No face would be ashamed
To be so clear.

If you want a clear mirror,
Behold yourself,
And see the shameless truth
Which the mirror reflects.

If metal can be polished
To a mirror-like finish –
What polishing does the mirror
Of the heart require?

Between the mirror and the heart
Is this single difference:
The heart conceals secrets
While the mirror does not.

Seeds for Meditation

Image

Have you ever experienced the majesty of a very tall, very wide Sequoia tree?  Sequoias are one of Earth’s oldest living organisms, veritable witnesses to our humanity.  Imagine these ancient trees as Elders of our world community … those who possess the greatest stories of resilience, stories of tragedy and triumph, past and future … but above all, stories that humble our human lives, which seem like the blink of a cosmic eye against the timescales of these ancient organisms …  organisms that have unflinchingly witnessed all of our own tragedies and triumphs, our wars and our revolutions, our holocausts and our renaissances, and have remained anchored to existence more firmly than we can ever hope to be.

Now, imagine you have the fortitude of a Sequoia tree … Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

Today, try to notice the living things around you that have been around longer than you have. Take a moment to feel the interconnection to that which is beyond your own individual existence.

Alan Watts ~ The Art of Meditation

We’re always thinking about something else these days, and missing what is here right now. Our obsession with the expectations of a global society continually pulls us away from our true selves, and to find that, we have to stop the chatter in our heads. The guru Alan Watts explains this, in simply the best and most concise interpretation of, and justification for, meditation out there.

Sri Raghavan Iyer ~ THE ZERO PRINCIPLE – II

Image

Before one can begin to understand the possibilities of universal self-consciousness, one must grasp in principle and at a simpler level what is logically involved in the transcendence of any pair of opposites. Take, for example, any two points and draw intersecting lines through them that meet at an apex. Then draw a third line horizontally connecting the two original points. In relation to these two points on the base line – which is analogous to substance – the apex represents that which enables one to transcend a particular field, which is represented by the enclosed triangle formed by the three points. This is a simple enough idea but it must be applied to those five pairs of opposites, cited by the Maha Chohan, which are so perplexing to human beings. To take the simplest, consider pain and pleasure. Most human beings are stuck in the basement of human evolution, wrestling with the pain-pleasure principle. Yet it is possible to overcome the oscillation of the two opposites and to move to a point of balance, indifference or neutralization between them. If one is really willing to think it out, one will be amazed to discover the degree to which one can neutralize one’s propensity towards pleasurable sensations and thereby one’s corresponding aversion to painful sensations.

Moving to the moral plane, the neutralization and transcendence of egotism and altruism is the toughest challenge for those high souls truly struggling in spiritual mountain climbing. As soon as these souls take birth, they are burdened with the obligation and the temptation of taking on the karma of others, the problem of wise non-interference. They are also stuck with the principle of self-assertion for the sake of self-preservation. Though a difficult dichotomy, this is, in principle, no different from any other pair of opposites. Ethical dichotomy, having to do with right and wrong, must be understood in terms of metaphysical distinctions between good and evil. These, in turn, have their application in all relationships, social, political and otherwise, which give rise to the dichotomy of liberty and despotism. It is possible, with each of these dichotomies, to find a mode of neutralization. One may take as a starting point the simplest mode of neutralization, which is to find the mid-point between the extremes. In Buddhist terms one should seek out the Middle Way. If one can discover a moderating principle within oneself, one may begin to moderate one’s preoccupation with right or wrong, good or evil, pleasure or pain, one’s tendency to dominate or to be submissive. By continually engaging in self-correction, guided by the principle of the Middle Way, one may avoid both pitfalls and extremes.

This teaching of Buddha is accessible to all human beings. It is always possible for anyone to slow down, to cut down, to moderate. But in doing so one must avoid any tendencies to become passive, escapist or vague. To fall into these traps is not to follow the Middle Way but merely to flee reality. Thus, while remaining fully engaged in the field of dharma, one must also learn to moderate. One should begin with an appreciation of the principle of the Middle Way – lying between the extremes of unedifying self-indulgence and equally unedifying self- mortification. Then through meditation one must go beyond this initial point of departure, taking advantage of the teaching of the Aryan eightfold path as a bridge between metaphysics and ethics. One must, in practice, come to experience through meditation neutral states. The entire cycle of the eightfold path, beginning in right views and concluding in right meditation, requires a continual process of formation and dissolution of perspectives and assumptions. Whatever one’s present mode of perception of the Dharma, whatever one’s present practice of the Dharma, one must be prepared both to affirm and negate this framework. Only so can one pass through a neutral condition to a renewed and regenerated understanding of the Dharma. Whilst this will be understood at first in terms of one’s solemn perspective and strenuous actions, owing to the salvationist tendency to project the idea of a path outside oneself, in time there will dawn a sobering realization that in fact this process of formation and neutralization is occurring within one’s faculties of perception, within the substance of one’s vestures.

It is not easy to master this mature understanding of the path, wherein there is no external travelling and the aspirant becomes one with the path itself. There is no room for haste or pretense. Rather, one should approach the task a day at a time. Those who attempt to jump ahead at the start, because they know nothing better, will quickly despair and abandon the path. That opens up the even worse risk of making judgements about the path and about those who authentically are attempting to follow it. Anyone finding himself or herself in this self-begotten predicament should immediately stop engaging in such self-destructive behaviour and try to make a fresh beginning. They should get back to the basics, find a different rhythm, follow it out each day and each week, learn to act incrementally as Nature does. Then they may discover that though the process of enlightenment and self-transcendence is slow, it is authentic. There will be moments of exhilaration and joy, moments of freedom and beautiful insight, as well as moments of pure love and true compassion. Above all, there will be moments of true selflessness when, in thinking of other beings, one reduces oneself to a zero. One’s eventual goal must be to thread one’s life together out of such moments, learning how, through daily meditation and right mental posture, one can be of service to humanity.

If this is the immediate and existential meaning of the teaching regarding transcendence as well as the significance of the zero principle, the ultimate metaphysical meaning of the idea lies in the unfathomable bosom of the unmanifest. The mysterious neutral axis within the cosmos and within man, around which coil the diverse powers of dual manifestation, is also a luminous thread leading to the core of the mystery of the individuality. By discovering the more and more abstract aspects of the zero within Nature and Man, one may draw closer and closer to the universal basis of spiritual immortality. All the hosts of spiritual monads on all the many planes of existence in the manifested cosmos derive from a single hebdomadic Logoic source. Preceding the differentiations of consciousness and form in the solar and terrestrial worlds, that fount of immortality radiates through seven centres from one eternity to another.

The seven Laya centres are the seven Zero points, using the term Zero in the same sense that Chemists do, to indicate a point at which, in Esotericism, the scale of reckoning of differentiation begins. From the Centres – beyond which Esoteric philosophy allows us to perceive the dim metaphysical outlines of the ‘Seven Sons’ of Life and Light, the Seven Logoi of the Hermetic and all other philosophers – begins the differentiation of the elements which enter into the constitution of our Solar System.

  The Secret Doctrine, i 138–139

At this level the degrees of plenitude, self-sufficiency and self-regeneration connected with the laya principle are so profound that they have no comprehensible analogue within human life. This is the realm of Initiates. Nevertheless, every human being, as an immortal ray of the Central Spiritual Sun, has the opportunity and privilege of meditating upon the idea of Fohat, which is an emanation of the Seven Sons of Light. Whatever plane of self-consciousness a being inhabits, it is always helpful to a group of monads held together by an irresistible ideal and an overarching transcendental vision of the good to come together and strengthen their collective capacity to reduce themselves to zeros in the service of their common ideal. Training in this magical power of transmission is the essential meaning of the Sangha. When people come together, truly forgetting themselves and united by the magnetic attraction of the good, they emulate and serve in some small measure the Teachers of Humanity, the great galaxy of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

The highest beings learn to do this ceaselessly, invoking the Fohatic principle which is present potentially at every point in space. Even at the level of ordinary, unenlightened human beings, it is possible to take advantage of the zero principle at some elementary level. The integrity of human nature itself assures that every human being can mirror the transcendental beneficence of the highest beings. Ultimately, all the potentiality of the zero, of shunyata or the void, is present throughout the plenum. The void is the plenum. All of Nature stands as an open invitation to every group of human beings to take conscious advantage of the Fohatic potential that exists everywhere throughout the body of Nature, but which is most powerful in the realm of ideation, the realm of Mahat, universal mind or Aether-Akasha. This is an invaluable lesson for any group of pilgrim souls to learn if they would constitute themselves true helpers of the servants of humanity in the coming decades and in the dawn of the Aquarian Age. In all relationships – in one’s household, at work and in the greater society – one may participate in the unfoldment of the ascending cycle that will stretch right into the next century.

To ally oneself truly with other human beings on behalf of the cause of humanity is to touch upon a much greater richness in human nature than can ever be experienced otherwise. Apart from the activation of the germ of spiritual self-consciousness, human beings are mostly semi-conscious, unconscious in relation to themselves and the potential in humanity. Once one learns to neutralize the lower self to some degree, thus transcending the opposites at a preliminary level, one will immediately discover what a fruitful diversity there is within oneself, between any two human beings, much less amongst larger groups. One will begin to see the profound importance of the plane of mentality – the plane of intellection – which is broader in its scope than any other plane. One will also begin to grasp the grandeur and magnitude of the vast inheritance of all human beings over eighteen million years.

Access to the plane of Chit – the vast and inexhaustible realm of boundless possibilities – inevitably depends upon self-conscious assimilation of the Law of Sacrifice. Within the planes of manifest existence there is a continual giving and receiving between all atoms, monads and beings. One may view all of this in terms of a calculus that seeks to measure how much one is getting in relation to how much one is giving. But the arithmetic of the marketplace is not easily applied to human affairs; moral calculus is tricky. It would be most unwise to perform this moral arithmetic inefficiently and on behalf of one’s ego. When human beings edit, forget and fall prey to ingratitude, they generate a tragic inversion of the principles of karma and justice. They think that whatever good they experience is self-generated, whilst whatever is bad comes from outside. In the end this amounts to a denial of the compassion at the core of the cosmos. In effect, by becoming obsessed with personal ratios of giving and receiving, one cuts oneself off entirely from the well-spring of one’s own true being. Instead of succumbing to such a tragic fate, it is far healthier and much more human to learn to enjoy giving generously and wisely at all times. By stepping outside the realm of petty calculation, one becomes a creative participant in the universal wisdom-sacrifice, the jnana yajna, of the cosmos.

Each breath is a sign of involvement in the Great Sacrifice. Each thought is itself a part of that sacrifice. How, then, can human beings impose some narrow view, whether egotistic or bilateral, upon the boundless stream of universal sacrifice? Instead of ensnaring oneself in the unnecessary tensions of a pseudo-sense of justice, which is merely a noisy mass of humbug that will leave, at death, an ugly rupa, one should reduce oneself to a zero. No amount of self-inflation and fearful grasping, no adherence to concretized images of oneself and one’s possessions – physical, mental or even spiritual – can contribute one iota to one’s well being as a soul. It is not prudence but folly that leads human beings to store up treasures in the realm of manifestation. From instant to instant the entire cosmos passes through a neutral point, a metaphysical zero point, and instantly and effortlessly it is regenerated in all its vastness. If the universe itself continually depends upon the mystery of All and Nothing within the Zero, there can be no greater wisdom for human beings than to cooperate self-consciously with the zero principle. Living from day to day and moment to moment in calm assurance of the ontologically boundless plenty of the Great Sacrifice, the neophyte can learn to rest upon the bosom of the infinite waters of Truth.

Lao Tzu ~ “We Join Thirty Spokes”

Remain aware that Lao Tzu reminds us that there is always Yin (the passive and empty component) that coexists with Yang (the active and shaping component).  The two together provide the means to total action, total responsibility, lifefulness, and lovefulness.  The importance of what is not defines the classical paradigm called enlightenment.
small pink lotus
We join thirty spokes
To the hub of a wheel,
Yet it’s the centre hole
That drives the chariot.
We shape clay
To birth a vessel,
Yet it’s the hallow within
That makes it useful.
We chisel doors and windows
To construct a room,
Yet it’s the inner space
That makes it livable.

Thus do we create what is
To use what is not.

HEALTH ~ Papaya Decreases Prostate Cancer Risk by 63%

Image
That’s the benefit seen by men in this study when they ate 390 grams of papaya per week (that’s half a large papaya and carries just 200 calories).

How does papaya deliver such health benefits? It’s a rich source of the three anti-cancer super nutrients beta-carotene, lycopene and beta-cryptoxanthin—all known to reduce prostate cancer risk (and breast cancer!). But there’s something special about papaya, because researchers recently discovered that our bodies absorb those crucial nutrients far better from papaya than from other sources like carrots or tomatoes—in fact, up to 300% better.

How is that possible? The answer is fascinating: this super fruit stores these nutrients in unique micro-crystalline structures which greatly enhance their availability upon digestion. Papaya is also very rich in potassium, and is therefore one of the most alkalizing fruits available: in fact it has nearly double (175%) the alkalizing power of pure lemon juice! It’s great as a smoothie all on its own, added to smoothies with several other fruit or vegetables, or just with yogurt on top for breakfast.

This low-calorie super fruit deserves special consideration as part of any healthy, fruit and vegetable centered diet meant to improve health and reduce cancer risk.
